She also informed me of the specials and they sounded more amazing than anything on the menu. I ordered the minestrone soup. It came with a basket of small round freshly baked bread. It had lots of fresh veggies and the broth was simple in flavor. For the main course I has the Tonnarelli Scarface. It is black pasta with mussels. I had wanted to try black pasta for a while (it's made with octopus ink! So interesting). It was heavenly. I got 25 perfectly cooked mussels (I counted them in the end just for the review) with fresh al dente pasta cooked in delicious sauce that contained garlic and cherry tomatoes. It left me dancing and singing while walking home. I was very happy with my first black pasta experience. There are only two cons I can think of: I waited 15 mins for the soup and 15 more minutes for the pasta. Even though I was the only customer, it still took a whole while. The second thing was the little lamps that were the centerpiece on each table. They were super dusty! What's up with that? Other notes. There was a restroom but I didn't use it, so no comment.
