Not that I will be able to get my nails done for some time, since it will take me months to grow out the damage caused to my fingernails from this one bad manicure/butchery! I went for gel removal and deluxe Mani & Peddi. The technician who was removing the gel from my fingernails, rather than gently buffing the surface on the gel to enable removal used a very coarse file and filled all the gel along with most of the layers of my natural nails, till they were paper thin and had to be cut off all the way down to the nail bed to enable the manicure to be completed. I stopped her five times and asked her to stop filing. If I hadn't had another technician working on my feet, I would have walked out then and there. After completely stuffing my nails, she applied one thick coat of polish rather than two to three that are usually applied, and the nail art is so crooked and badly done, that, rather than getting compliments, for the unusual design, I have been asked a number of times since I got out of there, " is it meant to look like that?" The answer is NO IT'S NOT! APPALING! Even when I complained and asked her to stop, explained that she was filling off the layers of my nails she argued. I'm kicking myself for being to polite to make her stop and do the work properly.

I do love the staff but I can't afford $25 per week on hair (10 week between cuts).

While it is a trek form my place in Essendon, I was impressed with the set up and service. The visit clocked up at $30. The shop if beautifully presented, with wooden fixtures taking centre stage, and lounging bench sofas to relax on while you wait your turn. As a nice surprise, the current newspaper was provided as well. The staff were chatty, and since I know my hairdresser, it was great to catch up. As the name suggests, it is a male-focused establishment, so ladies looking for a cut, colour and blow wave may be disappointed. Nice touches included having a warm towel placed on my neck prior to the lather being applied by brush in anticipation of the straight blade. The difference is that here, you dont have to take out a second job to get your hair done every two months. The stylists are fantastic -super friendly without being overly intrusive, and they treat their clients with a sense of importance, like they value their business. I like to book in with Dianne or Donna - Dianne is the owner and Donna is one of the younger girls there, but still does an amazing job. My hair has never looked better. I get colour and highlights, and its the perfect colour for me. My highlights look natural, and they manage to keep my hair long but stil healthy by chopping off just the right amount each visit.
