I like that it doesn't smell like those horrible mall nail bars. A shellac will cost around $25 and is about half an hour all up. I've found in my several visits that although they aren't super friendly, they don't totally ignore you either. The do a long lasting job, with my last shellac lasting 2 months!

The shellac started yellowing on the tips of my nails almost the same day and four days later the tips of my nails were orange, so then I went to get them done again and shellac is supposed to last much longer than four days. The second time I went I got acrylic nails and the person who did them made my cuticles bleed and my hands went out looking worse than when I came in and hurt for a few days. On the plus side you don't have to wait long at all and they're pretty friendly for nail technicians.
