Spacious outdoor area with a big field for parking (paid parking), stage for performers, food, drinks, etc...all you'd expect to find at an outdoor venue. The twist is, at least for me, the old Western, cowboy town feel. There's just something magical about it. Another note-like any other sort of venue of this caliber, drinks & food can be a little pricey. Folks are super friendly and helpful.

The show times were NOT announced, so I had to wait 4-5 hours in the sun to see Lucinda. This place IS cool, and a great venue to see once, but i wouldn't go again unless it was someone I REALLY wanted to see, and then it would be in Winter. Good: Nice-looking proper Olde West Town, lots of food trucks, free water.

I mentioned that the music would be well-liked, and would be somewhat easy listening. We arrived at 7 PM, and for the next hour, the music was light, and fun, and I saw the crowd dancing and pleased. When the last band came on, the music genre completely shifted; the lyrics were extremely repetitive, the singers were shouting, and the crowd began to depart in droves. My group joked about which committee decided on that band for a crowd that large. I am grateful for free events put on for this community, and so want to enjoy the music, but it's difficult when the genre picked is not a great selection for the masses.

I think only a handful of folks are really there for the music, and most are there to hang with pals (or a date or solo, even), picnic and just soak up the Zilker Park vibezzzzzz. There's lots of pop up tents around the seating are with freebies and stuff for sale (food and beverage). There's lots of kids and dogs (one woman was carrying around snake), so if you're not into either of those things, either plan accordingly (block off the areas next to you) or map out space in the back so you can peace out any time without disturbing anyone. It says no alcohol (and smoking, obvs), but... Bring bug spray and plan to get dropped off on the corner of Barton Springs and Lamar and walk over and vice versa on the way back.

At least for the 4th of July, there were plenty of vendors, or you could just bring your own coolers and lawn chairs to enjoy the music. The music starts promptly at 7:30 but die hard Symphony goers, extreme picnicers and take out eaters start are known to get there 30-45 minutes ahead, and enjoy the evening. Yamas! Austin Greek Festival is an annual, weekend-long family-friendly celebration of Greek…read moreculture. Located at the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, the festival not only brings awareness to Greek traditions but also serves as a fundraiser for expansion projects. The event is very well organized and staffed by numerous volunteers. Entrance is $5 per person and it's worth noting that the entire fest is CASHLESS. They accept donations for the church in the form of "tips" each time you make a purchase. There are several food and drink stands, vendor booths, dancing, and even face painting for kids. We tried the veggie plate (green beans, rice, spanakopita, dolmades, pita) and the lamb plate (leg of lamb, green beans, rice, tzatziki, pita) and both were good! There's a number of other sandwich, gyro and salad options. While the food was good, I think the festival really shines with their beverage options. The coffee frappe, basically a frothed espresso mix with milk (dairy alternative available) was delicious and only $5. My sister and I also got ouzo shots and the frozen lemonade and everything was super refreshing in the hot Texas heat. They have a number of other soda, sparkling water, beer and wine options. Parking is well organized and there is clear signage leading you to the festival from the main road. Great weekend event! We'll be back next year!

The products themselves were nice, but many pieces priced at $500+ didn't seem justified. I was mostly disappointed because it was advertised as a Christmas bazaar. I was expecting festive, vibrant, and cozy holiday décor that truly made you feel the Christmas spirit. Instead, it was lightly and mildly decorated and just felt like a large hall with mainly vendors set up inside. Had I known this was the vibe beforehand, I wouldn't have attended.

Before you get here, I'd recommend you bring a hat and sunglasses and perhaps even sunscreen. One other thing to keep in mind is that many of the local businesses along the festival do not allow you to use their bathrooms, so you'll have to find one of many porta pottys along the route. As anyone who has been on 6th Street lately knows, the sidewalks are absolutely filthy complete with vomit, broken glass and in desperate need of repair and power washing. You'll also find some homeless activity along the sides of the street. There are hundreds of vendor pop-up tents along with some stages set up on the side streets for local musicians. The length of this festival stretches from I 35 to Brazos Street on 6th Street. There are play areas and rides for the kids which cost a few dollars each. Here's just a partial list of what you'll find here: face painting, wind chimes, boba tea, pet goods, cutlery, furniture, perfumes, cbd gummies not to mention every other knickknack imaginable that you'd expect to see here. Plenty of street food and drinks here as well. However, some of these food places do not have any pricing, which means the bill will be more expensive than you realize. There are a lot of people that show up to this festival with their dogs and strollers, but it's not especially crowded. So is this free festival worth attending? Yes especially if it is your first time. If you don't mind the grime and the high prices this should be on your list. Lots of pictures included for added insight.

Yep, fall is here y'all..which means it's pumpkin patch season!…read more I wanted to share my thoughts / feedback on my recent visit to the Austin Pumpkin Festival (APF) on Saturday, 10/05/2024 (around 1pm) w/ my daughter and super-cute 20 month old gbaby. Here is why I'm giving my visit a three-star review: 1. Price - (expensive IMO) Buying a ticket online for a weekend date is about $28 per person, no matter the age and only babies and toddlers still in diapers are free to get in, which I think is very expensive, especially for younger kids who are no longer in diapers. I did like that you could leave and return. 2. Atmosphere and Vibe - I loved how many colorful pumpkins were displayed in the different areas that made awesome photo backdrops and all of the other cute displays - mirrors w/ cute captions written on them, colorful pumpkins houses, Sioux Tipi (see pics / video included w/ this review), Ferris wheel, huge wall mural, ect. and as advertised, there were indeed plenty of "Instagrammable moments" however, because the venue/area that this festival was located at, there weren't any shade trees so many of these super cute displays were located directly in our hot Texas sun, which made it very uncomfortable at times, especially having a toddler in tow. There were pockets of shade in the corners/outer edge of the space. We did visit during the day and despite there not being a long line to get on the Ferris wheel, we chose not to get on it because it was located directly in the sun & the seats didn't have a canopy to give any cover. 3. Parking - There is very limited free parking in the small parking lot located right in front but there was street parking located in the nearby neighborhood w/in walking distance 4. Food and Drink - Drinks were a bit pricey (a lemonade drink and a WhiteClaw Seltzer cost around $20+) and they only had chips & other snacks available for purchase so I recommend bringing your own snacks and/or eating before you visit. Other info - There are porta potties onsite. To sum it up, I feel like w/ the higher cost of a ticket pp that this experience is worth it for those who want to capture those IG photo worthy moments and not so much for those who want to bring their little ones to a pumpkin patch. Such a cute place for pictures and taking in all the pumpkins and the live music I would visit again. There so many different types of pumpkins. There was an area with a pool filled of corn where kids can play and there was also a train ride. We walked around took a few pictures and also rode the Ferris wheel which has a beautiful view of the Austin Skyline. The staff was so great They were Very kind and welcoming. Parking is limited so if you are near and able to walk I would suggest doing that. Overall it was such a fun experience!

Albert & Gage Band were phenomenal... a little bit country, gospel, bluegrass, some French mixed in... what can I say, very Austin. We brought a picnic and sat on the lawn, chilled to music as the sun went down and a light breeze blew. They do provide about 50 chairs, a half a dozen porch swings, ice water and use of the indoor city hall facilities. This is a great way to spend a Sunday evening and the cost - can't beat it - FREE!
