I am picky when it comes to one's to burgers and honestly not really the burger type of person. I do like the smash burger here and the Tuesday $5 special is a great deal ! The people there are friends.y and nice . It has a cute outdoor patio and a nice vibe !

I love Hops and Thyme! The food is delicious, the service is great and it's in a cute shopping area. I've had the beet and burrata salad twice and love it, the wings are probably the best I've had in the Austin area. The wagu burger is spectacular! We keep meaning to go back on a Tuesday when it's only $5! (Seriously that's an insane deal). If you're a beer lover this is your place! The entire wall is nothing but beer on tap! If you have a taste for something I would be willing to bet they have it!

    Fried cornbread is a MUST

The food was excellent! Do NOT skip the fried cornbread appetizer--it's a MUST! The house-made honey butter paired with the fried cornbread is pure genius. The flavors were incredible, and I'm obsessed with that appetizer. The Asian Chicken Salad was delicious and full of flavor, and the Hot Honey Grilled Chicken Sandwich totally hit the spot. I prefer my fries a little crispier, but they were decent. The service was great, and the ambiance was casual. They also have outdoor seating on the patio.

Still thriving! Very happy to have H&T in the Lake Travis area. Still a great space, nice beer selection, lovely patio (live music occasionally). Service has improved over the years. On my most recent visits, the staff has been new highers. Very cordial and eager to learn. :D The menu has expanded over time. Their bar bites...wings, pretzels, burgers, crispy brussel sprouts, etc...are always spot on. When they try to execute more elevated dishes, they can be a tad disappointing (esp for the $$). So go for the brew, apps, atmosphere, and hopefully some tunes. My personal suggestion anyway. Cheers!

"It says $5 pints, it doesn't say all pints" is what the manager said in her ~gotcha~ moment. Only realizing it was 9 bucks after paying and asking for a receipt. In my opinion in this case, it should say $5 select pints then. $5 burger was good, misleading menu wouldn't have ordered a beer.

    The "barely there" chicken sandwich

Came in today for lunch and did not have a positive experience. First of all it looked run down and in need of some cleaning. So many booths were torn. We ordered 4 waters to start and three out of four had black and green mold floating in them. We asked for bottled water. Then, I ordered a chicken sandwich and the chicken was almost non-existent. My kids chicken strips were tiny skinny pieces that were so scrawny. They had a side of fruit which many grapes had straight up mold on them. My other toddler got a grilled cheese which he seemed to like and my husband enjoyed the steak sandwich, it was over $70 for these entrees and water. Kind of crazy for what we got and no discount on the non chicken sandwich. A little disappointed because we really looked forward to trying this place.

We went for happy hour and the buffalo wings were easily in the top 5 wings I've ever had! The lemon pepper wings were good too. Service was good, and the atmosphere was nice, comfortable and chill. I hung out with friends there, which made it really enjoyable. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!

I got the half Italian, half house salad with Balsamic. Mmmmm good!

Food A+ -- We had fried pickles for appetizers. Lemonade and Orange Fanta to drink. Husband got roast beef. I got half Italian, half house salad with balsamic. Delicious! Service A+ -- Server was so friendly and accomodating. Ambiance A+ -- Good music, lots of seating typesand choices.

Fried chicken sandwich. Chicken was over fried and dry.

When we were poking around looking for breweries in the area on Yelp we came across The Shady Llama! This place doesn't make their own beer but they have lots of guest taps for breweries in the surrounding area. It's a good variety of beers to choose from and it looks like there is at least one food truck available sometimes in case you get hungry. The main draw for why we came here was to see the llamas and indeed we dis see some. One of them gave us some attitude and then sauntered off down a hill, taking it's less moody companion with it. They were funny and with the attitude I got and the name of the place I posted the Eminem song "My Name Is" where the lyrics "Slim Shady" get mentioned on Instagram because I thought it was all quite fitting. In addition to seeing the llamas we saw a great view of Hill Country. There was a lot of seating when we were here and could pick pretty much anywhere we wanted to sit. But I'm sure the place can get busy... the location and those llamas are reason enough. Cold beer, moody llamas and beautiful Hill Country... definitely worth the stop!

I've wanted to come to Shady Llama for years, and we finally made it out yesterday. I am so…read moredisappointed in myself for not coming all the time before this, because Shady Llama is EXCELLENT! First, the staff members are very friendly and know everything there is to know about their available wine and brews. I love that almost all (if not all) are local sips - it's really great to see all of these different places in Wimberley/Dripping Springs/Spicewood support each other. Just another reason why I love Hill Country! When I saw Lazarus Rice Lager and St. Elmo, my gluten free heart skipped a beat, because both of those brews have been treated with the enzyme that makes the brews (normally) OK for those who are gluten sensitive but not for those with celiacs. I don't miss beer, but those two brews are too delicious to pass up when I see them on tap! We also tried the Spicewood wine flight, which was one of the best wine flights I've ever had, and I cannot wait to go buy bottles of each to bring home. All 3 were delicious, crisp, robust, and beautifully paired with each other in the flight. The views were beautiful. Beautiful is honestly an understatement. I love that so much of this area is still undeveloped. I'm sure it was less developed even 5 years ago, but the views from Shady Llama while sitting in a wooden porch Adirondack chair sipping some wine is perfection. I can only imagine how beautiful it is at sunset. I do wish they had a couple more tables by those chairs so I can rest my drink, but it's uneven and probably hard to do so, so I happily will sit with my brew in hand and relax. There's also plenty of seating but not overly crowded with chairs and benches which is love, and I loved the hammocks too! This place is GREAT for families. Playgrounds, slides, almost all kids areas gated so you don't have to worry about them running into the woods with critters. Fun for all ages, and they're just far enough from the seating to minimize the noise that this kiddos love to make! I loved the llamas. Some of them were so spicy and truly just wanted the food, and I feel that. No pets, just food, and I applaud it. Some of them would let you pet them, and the personalities on some of them were REAL, but give them some food and they may let you take a picture. So much fun having them there! Add on some delicious brisket in the back (I am so sad I missed the burnt ends), and all in all, the Shady Llama is GREAT! You are also able to bring outside food, but no outside beverages! Great place and cannot wait to come back!

It's really cool at those times, although the amount of people during game day can be overwhelming. I've been a number of times over the years. The food has always been okay, not great. This last time, I ordered the pastrami sandwich, no aioli. The sandwich came dry. Thankfully I had asked for some mustard for my waffle fries. It was supposed to be on a brioche bun, or maybe I mistook the two pieces of white bread I got as something less than they were. It's supposed to have brie on it, and maybe the heat evaporated it all into the pastrami? The house made pastrami itself was very good. My daughter had the green chile and cheddar sausage and commented that the bun was pretty much a piece of Texas toast. We did have an excellent pretzel and the green goddess salad was capable of being split among three of us. These things make me think I just picked the wrong thing. For all the times I've been to Scholz's, I haven't picked the right thing that makes me excited to go back to eat.
