I ordered the schnitzel which is a German dish absolutely out of this world delicious and they even serve it with some lemon that you can squeeze on top that gives it the flavor and the delicious taste of the crispiness on the top of the breaded chicken. The one thing I wanna stress is as you know the chicken wings is my absolute Favorite because it's not overwhelmed wit With noisy overdone seasonings and tons of barbecue which I do not like. This place has improved quit a bit from my prior experiences. Went there Tuesday for dinner and they have a nice indoor dining area so you don't have to sit outside. Every one in our party ordered the $5.00 Smash Burger which was great we also ordered a side of french fries which were very good and had just come out of the fryer. The food was excellent! Do NOT skip the fried cornbread appetizer--it's a MUST! The house-made honey butter paired with the fried cornbread is pure genius. The flavors were incredible, and I'm obsessed with that appetizer. The Asian Chicken Salad was delicious and full of flavor, and the Hot Honey Grilled Chicken Sandwich totally hit the spot. Still thriving! Very happy to have H&T in the Lake Travis area. Still a great space, nice beer selection, lovely patio (live music occasionally). Service has improved over the years. On my most recent visits, the staff has been new highers. Very cordial and eager to learn. :D The menu has expanded over time. Their bar bites...wings, pretzels, burgers, crispy brussel sprouts, etc...are always spot on. When they try to execute more elevated dishes, they can be a tad disappointing (esp for the $$). Came in today for lunch and did not have a positive experience. First of all it looked run down and in need of some cleaning. So many booths were torn. We ordered 4 waters to start and three out of four had black and green mold floating in them. We asked for bottled water. Then, I ordered a chicken sandwich and the chicken was almost non-existent. My kids chicken strips were tiny skinny pieces that were so scrawny. They had a side of fruit which many grapes had straight up mold on them. My other toddler got a grilled cheese which he seemed to like and my husband enjoyed the steak sandwich, it was over $70 for these entrees and water. Interesting experience tonight: Crusty young bartender is not here, always a toss up on how much vaping she has done and what level of service you receive, a smile or frown, but today a new bartender, with all the bar skill, and an even keel attitude that makes you want to come back. The dry rub wings are always the best and caprese salad cools off the spice! Unfortunately, the bartender has been trained by the young crusty bartender who could never understand eye contact matters, small talk matters while a customer calculates their tip, and how a sour experience reduces their tip. But I have hope the new bartender will learn from the other's trial and tribulations. Good service matters. read more

I've enjoyed Hops & Thyme in the past. It's a great, unpretentious place to watch a football game, eat wings, and drink beer. The cocktails are nice. Big outdoor patio, and great location. This weekend we took a friend here for lunch and while the service was attentive and the atmosphere just fine, the food was universally off. I ordered the grilled caesar salad with added fried chicken. The greens were a bit wilty, the pretzel croutons well beyond stale, and the chicken hard to get down -- chewy and rubbery, as if it had been freezer burned and someone just said to fire it up anyway. My wife's Asian chicken salad was lackluster, with the chicken (not fried) having a more spongy, equally off texture... again, quite concerning her that it was, at best, merely old. I'm happy to go back to H&T for another meal sometime -- and some beers -- but I'll be sticking with the brats, wings, and fries on the next visit. the 1 star reviews are CRAZY and I feel like they don't know what they're talkin' about. We came here for brunch and although it was a little busy we were seated super fast and given waters 2 seconds later. We ordered the Steak & Eggs and the BLT. Our food took about 6-8 minutes and everything was so good! We came in with a 5 month old baby and the timing on everything from greeting to getting our order was perfect. Also, the patio is a complete MESS. Beer kegs all around trying to be inconspicuously hidden but no...Tables are extremely wobbly. And the bench seat upholstery for booths are tattered/torn. The owners MUST understand that visual impressions matter, right? We should have known better, because all the regular drunks were at the bar but for Sunday Brunch, hardly anyone there. Especially so since the weather is now cooling. My advice? Like Gordon Ramsay, FIRE your head of kitchen OR, if that just happens to be you, the owner... fire yourself. Sell the business or REALLY reflect if your heart is into this. This location has so much SQUANDERED potential and there isn't much real competition in the Lakeway area to begin with. First time here. I said to my husband this place would be great for "Bar Rescue" with Jon Taffer. There was a staffer at the back table vaping. During the course of our meal about 4-5 people took shots behind the bar. I believe the AC was out, which is horrible in the summer in Texas. I ordered a caesar salad and like many reviews it was half of a wilted romaine and rubbery chicken. The worst salad I've ever had. When I told the waitress about it she nicely said she could swap it out. Because the kitchen is in the restaurant and my chair was facing it, I could see as she took it back that about 8 staffers all turned to look at me at the same time making me extremely uncomfortable. Finally, the card reader was programmed to leave a 30% tip when we paid the bill. All these issues have left me with the decision not to revisit this establishment. read more

I only had the brussel sprouts which were really good. They have many other appetizers along with entries that sounded great! The drinks were pretty good but a bit on the pricey side. Anywhere from $11-13 for one cocktail. They have indoor dining and outdoor patio which you can choose from. They also had a performer singing for a couple hours when I was there (Friday night) and was very enjoyable. The service was great!
