The house was vacant and for sale, and the water ran for about 7-10 days until it was noticed in the evening of Saturday Oct 8. A search of restoration companies came up with a lot of companies, We called the first 2 and they could not come to our property for a full month!!! When we called Flood Pros we talked directly with the owner, Joe, who was able to send people over that night. Without Flood Pros the damage to our house would have been so much greater, but they spent hours on restoration and stopped the damage from getting worse. Flood Pros tore out the soaked cabinets and wall board throughout the entire house, and set up fans to dry the studs before the water was able to destroy the entire house and mold was able to set in. They came back the next several days and had to take everything out of the house to prevent mold growth. They documented the damage and helped calm our nerves, which were pretty well shot due to the traumatic flood damage. If Flood Pros had not been there for us our house would have had to endure standing water for a month. They literally saved our house from further damage and becoming a total loss. In the attached photos it is hard to see, but the ENTIRE downstairs is flooded. Everywhere there is either standing water or water under the floor boards. If we had had to wait for another company the water would have wicked up the walls and potentially could have completely destroyed our entire house. All throughout the time the people at Flood Pros, from the workers all the way up to Joe the owner acted in a professional and caring manner. I am posting on behalf of my partner, who I live with and assisted throughout this process…read more United Water Restoration Group of South Florida was brought to our home by a plumber -- we did not choose or independently hire them. From the start, documentation was a problem. We were asked to sign paperwork, yet no copy of the signed agreement, scope of work, pricing, or required disclosures was provided. These documents were not sent until roughly two days later, and only after repeated requests. Once the agreement was finally delivered, I independently searched the Florida DBPR license database and found that the license number listed on the agreement showed a status of "Current / Inactive." To understand whether any local licensing applied, I also contacted Manatee County's contractor licensing office, which advised that no county license was on file for UWRG. I was told the county does not require a separate mold remediation (MRSR) license; however, this licensing status was not disclosed at the time of service and raised additional transparency concerns. The mitigation setup itself was improper. Photos taken during UWRG's work show condensation and moisture trapped inside plastic containment, while air scrubbers and drying equipment were placed outside the contained area. UWRG returned on multiple days, observed worsening conditions, and made no corrections. These containment failures were later specifically identified as improper in the insurer-retained engineer's report and referenced by the Frontline adjuster. After containment was removed, wall areas showed visible deterioration that required another mitigation company. When charges were disputed and services canceled, the response escalated to texts referencing law enforcement and repeated lien threats, including statements that additional fees would be added if a lien were filed. No attempt was made to resolve the dispute. This reflects our direct experience.
