The technician misdiagnosed the issue, charged me over $1,900 for work that did not resolve, and replaced the wrong part. I was told the issue was fixed and to give it a couple of hours, but the problem was never actually corrected. On top of that, additional issues were caused during the service. While working in my attic, he damaged the drywall by putting a hole through it and did not have the professionalism to return and repair the damage. He also failed to properly reconnect the air vent to the HVAC system, leaving it completely disconnected. As a result, heat was escaping into the attic instead of being properly vented outside through the roof. I expected professional service and accountability, but unfortunately, that was not my experience. I would encourage anyone considering this company to do thorough research before hiring them. I recently scheduled another service as one of our units quit working yet again and they cancelled the service and told us to go elsewhere because I mentioned that I wasn't sure they were providing the best tech services and that our units weren't staying fixed for long. So rather than coming and trying to remedy and provide good customer service and fixing the unit that they had just recently worked on a few weeks prior, they pushed us off (without providing the warranty paperwork for our parts, I might add). When I called to try to keep the appointment, the receptionist argued with me and cut me off almost every time I started speaking and essentially told me I needed to guarantee that the part that wasn't working was the one they previously fixed and was what they needed to come look at...well, given that I don't service HVAC's, I obviously cannot do that which I said, thus why I'm requesting them to come and look so they can tell me what is going on. They did not provide good customer service in the least. I will note that their techs are very kind when they come out, so that is a plus but the office individuals are sorely lacking. Dishonest, bait and switch, over-billing, con artists, Used Car Salesman is probably the best way to describe Five Star. I see they have one review prior to my review. But I also see 9 other reviews are disallowed by Yelp. Because Yelp screens reviews which are believed to be false, or phony reviews. NINE phony reviews. Wish I checked Yelp Prior to contacting this Five Star. I won't go into details except to say ... please avoid these people, they are not trustworthy or honest. If you choose to hire them, you may "pay the price" in extra phony hours billed, extra materials billed etc. Like a dishonest car dealership, they give you and INSANE bill at the end of the joy, then try to get you to negotiate a lower number. If you don't go along with their game, they may go to your electrical circuit breaker box and kill power to your house like some kind of gangsters. They cut power to our 20x20 space, killing electricity to the hot water in our house, cutting power to our refrigerator, our lights, garage door, and irrigation system by removing the breakers - yes taking our breakers with them when they left. We were closer to calling the police, than our lawyer. By the next day, we called both the police AND our lawyer. These people are dishonest and unscrupulous. YMMV, but I doubt it.

It was between 98 and 103 degrees outside, and the weekend was beyond miserable. 5 Star arrived at 8:30 Monday morning, went up on the roof, came down, explained the problem, and was done by 11:30. We had cold air!! They recognized and replaced wiring that was absolutely embarrassingly old and exposed. We had rain the previous Friday morning and it had shorted out. They replaced the wiring and even left extra in the unit in case it needed to be replaced again. They were courteous, professional and fast!! We appreciate them so much!
