This place was stellar in every way-- from the first phone call until I left. The staff is…read moreridiculously friendly and kind... The lobby feels like someone's living room, and it is calm, peaceful and friendly. I went in for a specialized knee brace that was prescribed by an Orthopedist. I called 4 other places before getting this one, and everyone else was not helpful, had no idea what I needed, and just wanted me to drive over and make an appointment to figure it out. I seriously do not know how to properly emphasize how wonderful my entire experience was... Especially after my morning of typical "doctors office experiences". Thank you so much. It truly made my day... Even though I have a dislocated knee...

Steve Fries, C.P.O. took his time working with my wife trying on and testing various braces before finding right one. Steve also advised we change her shoe type and recommended a shoe store that was very experienced in fitting shoes that accepted an AFO. After using the new brace and shoes for a hours my wife was in tears questioning why our health care providers didn't recommend a fitted AFO sooner. Her "gait" and foot angles are greatly improved and she is now walking with 100% confidence. We can't say enough good things about Brevard And Steve Fries. If you or a loved one has "dropped foot" or any other type foot, ankle or leg handicaps, encourage your health care provider to write you a prescription for an appropriate device and you won't be disappointed if you go to Brevard. As a side note, we inquired about a "sleeping" brace. Steve had my wife try one on that fit perfect and was very comfortable. Steve was very upfront with us in telling us our insurance wouldn't cover the cost of the sleeping brace. After hearing this we were braced for a big expense to acquire this device. We were very surprised to find out the cost was slightly over $150! My wife can't wait to test this brace out this evening! Don Miller Miromar Lakes, FL

Review regarding Cranial Helmet for infants:…read more I had such a positive experience today at Hanger Clinic where I had my 4 month old evaluated for Cranial Asymmetry and possible treatment with a Cranial Helmet. Pete, the orthotist there, was so informative and friendly. Most importantly, the integrity displayed truly impressed me. I had my older daughter in a cranial helmet with another company and had a different experience. She was in a helmet from the age of 8 months old to almost 12 months old, she went from a 14mm to a 9mm. Although it was a fine experience, I chose to drive 3 hours away and did not go to my local Hanger Clinic. In hindsight, I have noticed that the other company often requires 2 or 3 helmets for treatment, whereas Hanger usually does it in one. This is significant especially when some insurance policies do not cover helmets. Also, I felt that the other company was quicker to recommend a helmet and felt very sales driven to me. Although daughter #1 certainly needed a helmet, I had a very different experience today with daughter #2. Hanger Clinic specializes in a variety of orthotic and prosthetic equipment, whereas the company I formerly used only did helmets. I think this fact alone makes them less likely to recommend unless they truly feel it necessary. I was so surprised by their conservative approach to treatment as that is not what I experienced with the other company. By looking at the scans provided by Hanger Clinic, I could see how round my younger daughter's head truly appeared, with only a mild asymmetry. Although they received no money from me and do not recommend a helmet (so no money really expected), he said to come back in 2 months and they will re-check her to make sure that she is still looking good, since she is currently 4 months old. My approach to medical treatment in general is I will do as much as truly needed and no more. If in 2 months there is worsening in numbers, then we'll go for a helmet with daughter #2, but if we're in the same place or better, then it's a pass for us. I wish I hadn't driven 3 hours each way for 4 months just because I thought the other company was the way to go. If I need to do it over, I'm definitely going with Hanger Clinic.

Came here recommended by my naturopath because I never knew that my years of hand/ wrist pain was not normal but finally decided to get it checked it. I wasn't sure what to expect from Hand Therapy Therapist, so I was pleasantly surprised. Danielle is a kind, chill, experienced occupational hand therapist. She has an uncanny skill of finding out which of the small muscles in my hand or wrist muscles are causing me the pain. She then uses manual therapy to address the root issues. Danielle also gives unique exercises that target the hand muscles that I never seen or heard of. Now after two months, I feel 80% better already. I highly recommend her as she is experienced, skilled, knowledgeable, chill and friendly. (part of me is reluctant to write this review because I don't want to have difficulty booking my appointment as she is usually scheduled by one or two week out or two right now) but I hope to help others by writing this review. Btw if you have bad experience with front desk people, rest assured that you won't get that here. Her front desk manager, Sarah, is kind and professional. She works as best to accommodate your scheduling needs. They are responsible and I feel good with their professional care.
