She then moved to Cypress side, their Memory Care locked in area til her death in March 2026. I write this on July 16, 2026. Sarah! Kudos. I agree with and witnessed every word you described in regard to CNAs and Nurses. Esp weekend workers. I know what I saw & heard over & over. I should. I spent everyday with mom for over a year & more. All day. 8 - 10 hrs. Never, if possible move a loved one here without a fulltime companion. Spend your $$ by keeping them home or at a small facility. Be extremely careful & vigilant if you have to move them here. The Activity team and housekeepers care most. They were fine. We hired a local company that we fired after a mere 5 weeks. An absolutely horrible experience, and we were desperate to find a replacement. We stumbled upon Preferred Care at Home and wow! We are so grateful we found them. Allison is an extremely organized, caring owner. She supervises all of her caregivers personally, as well as having an accessible database for the caregivers to log into for all pertinent information regarding their client. This makes the day-to-day responsibilities go that much smoother. We asked for consistently the same two caregivers, since seven-day care is provided and we wanted to avoid disruptions and/or confusion for our mother. Stability with the elderly is SO important, and Allison understands that. The two caregivers that come are honest, dependable, caring and efficient. They treat my mother with the utmost respect and concern. Both are punctual and perceptive. If there is a time that either of them cannot report for work (an extremely infrequent occurrence), a fill-in is assigned - and that's where the database comes in oh-so-handy. No need to provide specific instructions about dietary requirements, medication reminders or expected duties, since it's all in the database and at the caregiver's fingertips. Allison will drop by occasionally to check on both her employees and my mother. This is such a great practice. Also, if we ever have anything to discuss with her, she is easily accessible and replies to messages promptly. It is evident that her primary concern is the comfort of her client and the administration of quality care. So impressed with Preferred Care at Home's caregivers and with Allison. We are thankful that after such an initial dreadful experience with another local provider, we were able to locate and secure the level of care that we were seeking all along. If you need quality, dependable and compassionate care for an elderly family member, look no further. I highly and enthusiastically recommend Preferred Care at Home.

During her time at Advinia, we noticed most of the staff made a decent effort to assist the residents. However, we were continually impressed with the Director of Wellness/Head Nurse Nicky, who kept her staff towing the line and set an example of compassion and professionalism for others to follow. The facility, although dated, is kept clean and attractive. The food is reasonably good and many of the residents eat in the dining hall which has table cloths and cloth napkins. Residents who are not able to get to the dining room have their meals delivered to their rooms. We would have preferred my sister to continue to live at Advinia but her progressive illness didn't permit this choice.
