It was Girl's Night Out again, and Amsterdam was on the list. It was busy, loud, and energetic! The DJ was playing Latin, Top 40, and some hip hop. The crowd was 21 to 35 years old. No cover. Open until 5:00 am. We were there to dance, listen to the music, and have a few good drinks. All of that happened. We had a good time! I remember loving Amsterdam when it was in Hollywood. We were there almost every weekend. It's not the same anymore ever since it's at the Hallandale location. We were there last night and it was just terrible. The DJ was horrible, the variety of music was terrible. It's supposed to be a more Spanish club, but it was more English music. We were there until almost 4am and we didn't hear not one bachata song nor merengue. Not even a salsa and we were there for like 3 hours. As far as night clubs go Amsterdam in Hallendale is okay. It is dark, the music is very loud and they have performers who are also servers. Drinks are quite expensive in my opinion. Ordinary drinks are about $15 on average and they charge a mandatory tip like they do in South Beach. Hallandale is not south beach. They do have a bus which travels from the Hollywood location to this location. Which is kind of cool if you want to park in Hollywood bar Hop there, then jump on the bus and go to this location. We found out the hard way that after midnight they only do valet park which is $15, so keep that in mind if you are going to drive here. More cost effective to park at the public lot in Hollywood and take the bus. There are all ages here, but mostly a younger crowd which is typical for clubs. They have outside seating if you are like me and want to avoid the loud music. The other thing to keep in mind is they allow smoking inside, including hookah. read more

I came to Amsterdam with some of my friends for a fundraising event. When we walked in, we were in awe of the decor of the establishment. The bright red lights illuminated the entire building from the lounge chairs to the bar. The establishment has an amazing decked out bar, that had 100's of liquors in a unique way. They also have a middle bar where the bartenders would do tricks while serving drinks. We then met our waitress who was very helpful especially since this was our first time here. We ordered our drinks which were strong (a plus in my eyes). We ordered lemon pepper wings with French fries, and fish tacos. Our food came out quick and fresh. The wings were fried crispy and packed with flavor. The fish tacos were filled with crispy batter fish and pico de gallo. Overall, I want to come back to try more of what Amsterdam has to offer. read more

A typical South Florida club. It is free to get in on saturdays however you're better off getting a section/bottle service if you have more than 3 ppl. The dance floor is not big at all. It seems like they mostly focus on bottle service. Music is great mix of Spanish and hip hop. Mostly Spanish tho. Do not expect alot of hip hop. They do sell food however we didn't order any. Parking is $10 regardless of valet or self parking. You could park across the BUSY INTERSECTIONFOR FREE. RIDICULOUS!!!! they do a Michael Jackson show with bartenders and men standing in the bar dressed as MJ and throwing up fire burning bottles. I've been to Amsterdam several times. I preferred the one in Hollywood. The music and vibe was cool. I've now gone to the location in Hallandale a few times and they apparently are trying to change it. There is a bouncer at the front who is very aggressive. He told us we were not allowed in without a table or reservations. Clearly the flyer and info said free entry. He then passed me to the manager who explained I would have to stand at the bar and buy a drink. I don't know how this is new. This is what you usually do when you go to a bar. Will not be going back no matter who they have. I don't like the fact that the bouncer is so aggressive and free entry is just a ploy to get your to buy a bottle. read more

I live in aventura and drive on US1 everyday and when I saw Amsterdam was coming to Hallandale I almost SH#T MYSELF! I am beyond excited. Their waitresses and bartenders are literally the nicest most attentive staff in all broward/dade I kid you NOT. Going to Amsterdam is a real treat, the music is amazing, the whole environment is the best of the best. They know how to throw a fun amazing party by just being opened. So amazing cannot wait!!!! Let's break this spot down, there is no cover, security was professional, parking is valet or self parking. The bar was PACKED, tons of bartenders and bottle girls. Have no fear they are very attentive. The bathroom was not a hit, no clue what happened but there was no toilet seat in the stall. The music was poppin, hit after hit, this is not the spot for those who want to chit chat bc the music is LOUD. Now on to the hookah, they should change to disposable hoses and try cleaning the hookah itself. The hookah stem had black mold all along the plastic rim that connects to the water. Someone needs to be the designated hookah cleaner bc mold is never ok. I have a love/hate relationship with this Amsterdam location. I've had great times at the Hollywood location and when I heard about the opening of the Hallendale location I was excited since it's more spacious. It definitely has gotten better in comparison to their earlier days. There's no cover for females and never a line. The music is really good and a nice mix of throwbacks and modern hits. The service is decent but I will say that I've noticed I get better service when I buy bottles. If you plan to sit at the bar arrive early because it's always packed, esp on weekends. While arriving and paying Vivian the $15 parking fee, I was DENIED entrance to the Amsterdam Hallandale location while I was accused of being allegedly "intoxicated" and/or that the Bar was "Full" while BOTH were MANUFACTURED BS reasons for denying my entrance considering that every other time that I was there I have ALWAYS being extremely respectful to the entire staff and NEVER caused any problems as well as paid properly while were other people were allowed to be get in without question. Thus the Security incorrectly manufactured a reason to prevent us from entering the location. Personally I recommend that people stay away from this place since there is NO guarantee that they will be allowed. PS: Be careful as this establishment seems to be more interested in being a RIP OFF operation than a legitimate business venture. read more

To my knowledge they advertise themselves as a bar / dance entertainment environment with all do respect no problem., but live up to it. I was waiting to use the bathroom and having small talk with two girls that walked in together/behind me. When it was my turn they insisted on entering the stall with me. They were both friendly at first so I didn't think anything of it. I pee'd and was waiting for them to handle their business so we could exit the stall together at which point one of the girls pulled out a bag of cocaine and they both, as a joint effort, opened the door, shoved me outside of the stall and shut the door, while laughing. I yelled at them for shoving me from outside the stall and walked away. I didn't report the incident that night but when I was getting ready to leave I realized I didn't have my keys. I had to take an Uber home and leave my car there because they didn't turn up after closing. I returned two days later to see if my keys were found. While waiting for the manager to check the lost and found I saw one of the girls that shoved me standing at the end of the bar. IT TURNS OUT SHE WORKS THERE!!!! I pointed her out to the manager and asked for her name (KATYA) and I let him know what happened. He said "thanks for letting me know" and I left, keyless. My keys never turned up!!!....which I find odd considering I entered the premises with them (after paying $10 to SELF "valet park") and left without them. I was sitting in the same place the entire night so they would've been in the VIP section or the bathroom. I had to leave my car there that night and take an Uber home. I came back with my spare key the next morning and my car was still there so it's unlikely someone stole them (otherwise my car would've been gone). Idk, maybe my keys stayed in the bathroom stall when I was shoved out by their staff! I'll be passing by next week to see if KATYA gets to keep her job after putting her hands on a customer so she can do cocaine in the bathroom. I'm sure I'll recognize the other girl when I see her.
