One anciently old POS at the bar smoking killed our night! Woulda stayed for more drinks and fun...but here I am... My wife has been bugging me to go there to start learning line dancing for a few years. Tonight was the night to get familiar with it and start taking notes as to how to approach the endeavor. It was great and we were having fun taking notes until she smelt the putrid odor of somebody smoking. We thought it was outlawed indoors back in the 90's somewhere...who TF wants to go home smelling like an ashtray? Well, I just took a shower, so I'm good...but I'm still listening to my wife's complaining while showering, so, I'm deflecting it onto y'all... and I should be the one complaining because I'm allergic to it. As county music lovers, Round Up has been on our list for a while! We arrived around 9pm to find line dancing classes happening. Evidently, free line dancing classes are hosted here every Saturday from 7:30pm - 9:30pm. A large part of the room is catered to this. We sat at the bar and watched on while enjoying some drinks. Bartenders were the friendliest and drinks were cold! The atmosphere here is loud, lively and fun! Everyone's here for a good time. Once the class was over, we were able to join in on some of the dances and met some great new friends! read more

My fiancé and I had such a great time! Now we feel confident enough to hit up any country bar and really cut the rug. so when I first moved to plantation about 20 years ago, I used to go to round up every weekend and it used to be the hot place to go with country music and line dancing and an all around fun night to go. i went with my sister-in-law Saturday night and while people are still line dancing I barely heard any country music. I also think that we were the oldest people in the club cause everyone seems to be under 21 and It wasn't like that before. Well it was still a fun night just to watch everyone dance. This is so much fun!! Went last Friday night and not only do they have line dance classes, but it's also ladies night from 9pm - 2am!! Drinks are only $2 each!! The class is an hour long and it's for both beginners and advanced dancers. There's a $10 cover if you're 21+ or $30 if you're 18+. The bartender that helped us throughout the night was the sweetest angel! I regret not getting her name. She was so quick and friendly! Ambiance is so much fun! They have a DJ the whole night who calls out the dances for beginners. Loved that everyone is there to have a good time wherever they're dancing or just watching. Everyone is also in theme, wearing their denim, cowboy hats, and/or boots! Honorable mention for the bathrooms, because they were surprisingly clean. Seemed like a fun place. Nice atmosphere. Just don't go there hungry. 20 minutes wait for food and only then was I told they are out of what I ordered. Decided not to try for another 20 minute wait and would instead hit fast food. But then a 15 minute wait for the waitress to track down and herd the manager to refund my money. No apology from the manager. Not even a glance my way. Clearly this is a normal thing. Waitress was wonderful but limited by an incompetent kitchen and unengaged management. Food did not look overly appetizing. Sort of bowling alley stuff but I was hungry so wanted to give it a try. Actually stopped in the check out the place and eat. Not a great experience. Don't believe I will be rushing back and if I do I will certainly eat before going. One other issue with this place is the lack of seating. This definitely added to my frustration since I stood at the bar all that time waiting on food and then the manager. They could invest in some tables and chairs for certain. read more

So this has been growing on me... We have been going a bit more now, and with me now enjoying some country music, the stars on my review go up. Also enjoy the dancing lessons they give, especially the fact that they divide them between beginners and advanced. Joining everyone to learn the steps is fun and you can see everyone having a great time. They also allow you to do parties there, recently my friends surprised me with a birthday there and they had balloons, reserved table, banners, and assigned servers for us, who came around enough to keep our drinks full. At the bar, we have also had good service and quick. So, as I said on my previous review, if you love Country you will love this place, if not, give it a chance! you might be, like me, converted. read more

My girls and I wanted to learn how to line dance so we ended up stopping by for the lessons . They have lessons starting Wednesday - Sunday from 8:00pm-9:00pm . There is a $10 entry fee . Every Wednesday is ladies night . I asked if there is bull riding, and there is only when the rodeo comes into town . It was such a fun , wholesome environment . If you're looking for some Southern-style fun in Davie, come to Round Up for a night of line dancing! I came here with friends to learn some line dancing and a time was had here! It was popping on a Friday night and we came at a good time because although the parking lot was packed, the inside wasn't tooooo crowded just yet at 8-8:30pm to learn the line dancing. When we left around 11-12am, the line wrapped around the building and it was packed inside. Round Up feels like a nightclub but on a more casual level, which I love. Any spot with a bar, dancing, and allows me to wear not heels is a great spot to spend nights in your thirties. Add some line dancing, and it's a grand time. They taught a few dances for an hour, starting at 8pm on Friday, and it was pretty easy to catch on. After they taught, they proceeded with a night of continuous songs that people knew line dances to. It was a fun time and I definitely want to come on the different nights that they teach. Friday night is also ladies' night after 9pm, I believe, and you get discounted drinks when you pay for cover to get in. This nightclub is open to 18+ for the dancing but 21+ for drinks, of course. They have designated spots for ladies' night specials drinks and a water cooler with cups by the photobooth in the back. The only reason I knocked a star off was because we ended up at the ONE bar that wasn't serving drinks specials and the bartender was so rude for no reason. We only wanted water and she could have easily told us where it was but after 5 minutes of waiting and begrudgingly giving us water, she told us where to get it for free. Kind of the usual for a nightclub but still had to note it for the sake of the review. Other than that, we had a great time! It surprised me how many people knew all the line dances and motivated me to want to come back and learn more! read more

Me and my husband went first time. The atmosphere was nice and lively place but, the food was OK and pricy. what we ordered, they didn't have the cheese and vegetable I ordered and wanted even though it was on the menu. Service was not good. Had to ask three times for napkins. They charge for glass of water also $3.00 per glass, not even bottle water. Tips are suggested but they already add to the check. I will not suggest and recommend this place unless someone likes dancing and ready to pay more. read more

Everything is relative, and when you are the only country joint in town, just be sorta good. And Round up is plenty good. I always liked some country but country rock and similar music wasn't my thing. A bit more recently i was drawn more to country as the genre had gone more country and and its just oneof the only music scenes in South Florida. So we went to Round Up as its really the only spot in town for music and dancing too. If you get there early you get a chance to practice a line dance or 2 step. The house instructor is there I think around 7pm. We got there early party for this but also to just beat the crowd. Sure enough when we walked in the place was pretty quiet of patrons but 80 people were on the dance floor getting a lesson. We snuck on the floor and picked up a few things. After a while things kicked up and the night started. Round Up is literally one of the only places around with this energy. People, a lot of women, who feel comfortable digging the music and relaxing with a beer. Its not intense techno or more modern music without instruments and full of beat drops, just good clean fun. When we left there was a big line outside, the place was about to get packed. We look forward to popping back in again soon. read more

When I was invited to a birthday party here, I must admit I was a little apprehensive to go. I don't really consider myself to be a country linedancer. That being said, I completely misjudged the amount of fun it would be. Hubby and I arrived to watch a dance floor full of people enjoying themselves line dancing and two-stepping to some awesome country tunes. Although my two left feet didn't join them, it made me want to get there early one night to partake in the complimentary dance lessons they provide. This night however, we were very content to sit in our private roped off party area and enjoy the food and drinks with some great country dressed people watching. I went last night with 24 friends and family for a get-together and line dancing lessons. The instructors were patient and entertaining. It was a lot of fun! I can't say enough about our server Brindy. I expected with separate checks everybody was going to have a problem when paying their bill. Incredibly, all the checks were spot on! The service was quick, efficient and she was always courteous and attentive, even though I was indecisive about what to eat or drink. Thank You so much Brindy! It is a country-western club. If you get here around seven they have an instructor showing how to line dance. I had a good time. The music playing was good. The place had a family fun atmosphere type of vibe. The club had a few bars inside. They also serve food. I didn't see a menu anywhere and no one approached us but I did smell and see food. Towards the back, I saw some tables. I smelled cigarettes. The smell bothered me. I looked around and didn't see people smoking but I smelled it. The place is located in a plaza on a corner. The plaza has plenty of parking spaces around. It had some signs around about towing if you park in certain places. I honestly was worried about it. No one could tell me if I was in the clear. Angel the front door host was saying she doesn't know where to find the manager so she cannot deliver proper customer service when I went to tell her how during the lessons I came for there was multiple rude patrons telling me to please move I'm in there way. I came for a line dancing class I arrived at 7:20pm for 8pm class. A patron felt bad for me when he saw how the "regular patrons" that take class were treating my friend and I. You should not advertise dance lessons if you cannot accept people who are passionate to learn. I even asked if they do private lessons. Overpriced drinks on ladies night and the manager is ghost. Bartender was nice and stressed and I didn't need a manager I just don't get how people can be so rude and unprofessional. This was my first visit to Round Up in over 15 years! Just the fact that it's been around for so long shows how popular has been. I went on a Friday night with a group of 5 ladies. We got there at 7:00 when it opens and other than a handful of regulars, we had the place to ourselves. There was a $10 cover charge and starting at 9:00 ladies can drink for free. (It was 2-for-1 until then.) I ordered a Blue Moon and it was reasonably priced at like $5. Drinks were served quickly because the bar was basically empty. We were watching the line dancing and decided to order some food to share. We had an attentive, perky server and we asked her what was good. She suggested the nachos and the little fried cheese sticks, (I think they were called tequenos.) We also ordered the hummus with vegetable sticks, and coconut shrimp. Most appetizers were $9.99. Although the food came out quickly; none of it was really great. The tequenos tasted like they had been heated up from frozen and the nachos were not much better quality than you'd get at a movie theater. The hummus was bland and boring as well. The friend who ordered the coconut shrimp said she'd wished she had ordered something else. At about 8:00 or 8:30 they did some free line dancing lessons. Most of our group gave it a try and it was pretty fun. The dance floor started really filling up and more and more of the true country line dancers began to take over the floor. It was a lot of fun to watch! At 9:00 they opened up a really small bar for the "free Ladies' night" drinks. The only beer that was free was Budweiser, and it was served in tiny little plastic cups. I assume everyone who got a beer left a tip of $1.00 or more, even though it was only about $1.00 worth of free beer. We left at about 9:00, and the restaurant/bar was really getting busy. I suppose this would be where you would hang out if you are really into country music; however I would recommend that you eat somewhere with a better quality of food first , and then just pop in to drink, dance, and people watch! read more

I am staying at 3 stars for this place. It is not my style but I attended a private function here. They need to remodel the bathrooms. Actually, the whole place could be refreshed. I attended a party for a friend here about 20 years ago and the place hasn't changed much from what I remember. Guard who stood outside checked inside my purse when I entered Round Up which was fine but then seemed to be staring at me while I waited to pay. Made me feel awkward. Maybe he thought I would walk by without paying. If you like country music, you would probably like it here. I do think it feels mostly authentic for what they are trying to offer. Been here a few times and I have the best time every time! Everyone here is so nice and helpful when trying to learn the dances. If you get there before 9pm, they teach dances and sometimes couple dances! It's SO much fun and the bartenders are great! I haven't tried the food yet. It's about a 45 minute drive from me but my friends are always down to go because it's that fun! The recently added a Photo Booth which takes the cutest pictures. If you're in South Florida, definitely recommend coming here even if it's a bit of a drive. Go dressed in something you can dance and sweat in and have fun! read more

I've been going to Roundup for a few years and have always enjoyed my experience--until now. I understand that the Friday DJ needs time to adjust, but for the past month, it's been quite disappointing. While I also understand that the DJ needs to accommodate dancers of all skill levels, I've noticed that for the past month, he has primarily played songs suited for beginners. The DJ could consider mixing in a few easier dances alongside some more challenging ones. This way, both beginners and more experienced dancers can enjoy the experience together. Fridays have a distinct reputation for line dances, while Thursdays and Saturdays focus on two-step and swing. Recently, however, the DJ has leaned heavily on couple dances (5 songs, when it has always been 3) during what should be a line dance night. Additionally, he seems to overlook the song request app and plays his own selections instead. The line dancing community is constantly evolving, and it would be wonderful to see more new songs and dances incorporated into the mix. It was very entertaining and once COVID is better I will go back. I had the grilled fish dinner with fries. It did not come with baked potato and salad like the menu stated. It was delicious. Line dancing lessons awaited us... so we entered. But lessons started at 8 and we arrived around 8:45. So we only caught the tail end.
