Wish I could give 0 stars. Not only was the service horrible, but they actually made my trip worse. I had to do the job for them - following up with hotels and trips, making sure everything was in order - I ended up doing more work than if I would have done the planning myself. I have absolutely no trust that they knew what they were doing. Was repeatedly told "we'll be available for help whenever you need us!" right up until I left (which was the main reason I wanted to use them - it was my first time traveling across the world), and then when I needed help in Australia, was told to call the third parties agencies for help (that I had never spoken with or worked with before) and that they couldn't do anything. Worst part, my agent messed up my flights so on top of having to buy new flights out of pocket in Australia, I have had to deal with her for way longer then I wanted while I worked on getting a refund (which originally her job, but I jumped after 2 months of nothing happening). Anytime I deal with the airline now they reply and help within days, but whenever my agent needs to confirm something with them, it takes 2-3 weeks because of "airline issues" that she "deals with all the time." AmEx travel is a complete joke - if anyone reading this is considering using an agent from here, I'd recommend using literally anyone else. And I don't mean another travel agent, I mean literally anyone else you know you can use a phone or computer. read more

I have over half a million points with this company and I made reservations online for my parents for a hotel - their FAVORITE hotel - in Denver. I called three times to follow up and was told that my itinerary would be sent. It wasn't. Why? American Express PLATINUM travel never made the reservation. My 70 year old parents arrive in Denver and American Express didn't have a hotel reserved. Their offer to "make it up?" A $100.00 travel voucher. The hotel that was $260 a night is now $381 a night. The agent actually told me I was "hangry." I wish I were kidding. I felt violated and violent all at the same time when she said that. When to use American Express Travel? When you really don't care if you go anyway. read more

I have been booking with AMT for years. So annoying that so many reviews are for AMEX call center instead of this travel agency, which is basically a franchise. Anyway, in the time of Covid, AMT reminded me why they are so great. My family's third Disney cruise (all of which were booked by AMT) was cancelled due to Covid. I had multiple conversations with Maureen, talking through what would happen, what DID happen and what our options were. Her great responsiveness, emailing me updates, emailing me requested quotes, and helping me choose the best action for my family reminded me WHY I book with AMT. read more

Betty at AMT Travel planned a beautiful trip to Africa for me. When the shut down happened in March, my April trip was cancelled. Betty and her staff got me refunds for air, hotels and the safari we had planned. I know they spent a ton of time on hold but never complained to me. Wait! They came back and cut the change fee to $88 per person. Don't know what happened. Amex travel is a rip-off because of its inflexibility. Five months in advance, I wanted to change a flight to Honolulu. The change charge was $1,000 or 80% of the original fare in Rewards points. If I had cancelled, AMEX would have not refunded my original points. The change fee on American is $200 per person. So where is the added $600 going. Real rip off. Don't use Amex Travel unless you have dates that don't change. Hell, don't use them period read more

This has become the absolute worst travel service in the history of mankind. Do not use. They have no clout, are more expensive and wait times are 2 hours plus. If there is any complexity forget it. They can't understand nor resolve. How such an established company could slide so deeply into ineptitude is a study in bloated corporate bullshit. i've been using this service for 20 years. You need not use it for 20 minutes. Run like hell. They suck, will not resolve anything and be ready for 1 -3 hour hold times. read more

To be fair, I've only had one experience with AMT but it will most certainly be my very last. The responsiveness of my agent was lackluster, she made several errors when completing our reservation and was not helpful with providing additional information beyond booking flights, hotels and airport transfers. She also did a terrible job of making the reservation itself, despite my specific instructions. We chose to stay at a particular hotel bc my credit card gives us daily meal credits and guarantees early check in and late check out -- and instead she chose to book with a tour company that provides extra bonus points, rather than the features I listed above. She also did not communicate that she did this instead, and we didn't find out until we are on our honeymoon where it was too late to change it. Typically it wouldn't be a big deal, but you'd think if you make a request, the travel agent would make an effort to accommodate it -- especially in a day and age where you can book online without much hassle. The icing on the cake: unapologetic attitude from the agent when I inquired about the error. Stay as far away as you can from this travel agency. It's horrible. read more

Maureen has been amazing, kind and patient. We have worked with her for almost a year planning our 1st over seas trip. She planned a well balanced free time and tour times. Her 1st round of hotels were 4/5 stars and she didn't fret when we asked for 3 stars "Best Western Court Yard by Marriott" quality. She didn't bat an eye lash when we eliminated a stop. I have over 90 thousand points with AMerican Express. I was unable to buy a ticket to Louisiana in March and today I spent 5 hours trying to use points to buy ticket to Miami with no success. Today I have been on the computer/phone since 9am. It is now 1:30pm. I have talked to NINE staff members and have been redirected back to the Website so many times I was locked out. What good are these "points" if they can not be used? I have been with American Express for over 30 years. I have NEVER received such poor service. I gave up and purchased flights on my own, which was good because it costed $800 less than what I was quoted (same airline, dates!!) And it was a struggle just to even get that. It was disappointing that a travel agency isn't open on Saturdays or that it takes several days just for someone to get you flight info, not to mention the attitude of the agent that acted like she was doing me some sort of favor. It's been a week since I left messages for a call back and still haven't been contacted, other than an advertisement email from them.
