The Arctic station has such a lovely structural design and lights up at night. Quite easy to spot from the distance! It's located right across from the Honda Center. This station is fairly clean and parking is easy to navigate and spacious. Few options of places to grab a snack inside the station. Parking is free but just make sure to fill out the overnight document online if you'll be leaving your car. The Amtrak trains are clean, especially the newer trains and have comfortable seats with trays. When going to SD love taking the train to relax or get some work done. Another bonus is that I get to skip over the traffic! I have encountered time changes and delays on a few trips so be sure to check on the app. read more

This ARCTIC train station is very nice, well built architecture. Parking in the lot is free. Very easy to navigate. As for the Amtrak itself, the service is so inconsistent. Despite booking business class, there could be trash left over, the tables are dirty, and sometimes you get the snack box sometimes you don't. It depends on whether the attendant remembers. Also, they took orders for our drinks, but never gave them to us. Let's not forget that the train NEVER arrives on time. Always additional 5-10 mins. Longest ive ever had to wait, was an hour extra. read more

I absolutely love taking the train and find it to be a far more relaxing experience than driving and dealing with traffic! Cars are clean and air conditioning is usually running strong! Decent selection at cafe car and seats are comfortable enough for hours long rides. The jump to business class isn't too much more so if you're traveling more than an hour I personally recommend the upgrade. Business class comes with water/soda and a snack by my last trip to and from I didn't have an attendant come by so this was disappointing. Also wish attendants would address children that were running up and down aisles but other than that, I had a good experience. Power outlets available at each seat but not USB/USC so make sure to bring your base for cables. Travel from hell. From Chicago to Los Angeles 43 hour was delayed 8 hours. County jail has better food than this train . We paid $2000.00 for privet cabin with its own shower and toilet. I have traveled every where in Europe amazing rides. Amtrak rides are so bouncy and horrible. It felt like you are in a ride in magic mountain, up dawn , let, right... all night could not sleep at all. For the amount of money they charge you can fly first class for 5 hours top. Why even bother? Booked last week and was emailed yesterday evening that there was an EVENT happening so screw the disabled people and make them lug around luggage over wires, cords, curbs, gravel, dirt, boulders to the other side so paying customers don't disturb a party. Absolutely no AMTRAK employee available but plenty of EVENT security. Sad and what an embarrassment for Anaheim. I can see why AMTRAK is losing money. The train station is nice, the train itself is fast and convenient. I wish the staff of Amtrak was on the same page. I called Amtrak to modify a ticket. Miss Tee of Amtrak services says I need the last 3 card number to modify my ticket but however all you need to do is go on their webpage and put in your confirmation number and your last name and you can change your ticket. Why is it online I can change without inputting my card numbers , but over the phone.. there's so many security options...? Moral of story. You can modify your ticket on Amtrak webpage without calling them and being put on hold and promised a call back but never did. The Artic itself is a nice place! read more

The station is clean and easy to navigate, but the lack of working outlets is frustrating. It feels like they purposely make sure none of them work so you'll have to pay to rent a charger. On top of that, my train was delayed by 2 hours. Not cool, especially for people relying on their phones. Definitely something Amtrak needs to fix. read more

They canceled the train without telling me. It's surprising how terrible my experience was with this. I booked tickets to get down to San Diego back in July. Come to the week of thanksgiving, on the day we leave I get an automated call that says "there are changes that affect your upcoming trip. Press 1 to talk to an operator." I pressed one and waited on hold to have the call disconnected after an hour of terrible music. I called back but opted to have them call me since the wait time was 90 mins. They called back but I still had to wait on hold for 20 minutes on hold just to be disconnected again. By that time we had to head to the station where we waited. There was no signage with train status, no one at the ticket counter, no notice whatsoever. I looked on the app for the train status and it said nothing about it being delayed or cancelled. We had time constraints so we had my sister drive us to Oceanside where we met halfway with friends that took us the rest of the way to San Diego. After all this, I couldn't get a refund online because "the trip has passed" and every time I call I have over an hour of wait times. I think I'm just going to have AMEX take care of it. Amtrak, communicate better with your customers! Auto rebook me next time so I know for sure what's going on. Just do better with stuff like this. read more

Wow! This station's so clean and bright, so refreshing and relaxing! It makes me kind of want to hop on the train, take a little trip. A shoreline run down to San Diego and back--without the traffic headache, for example--would be great! We'd bring along our beach cruisers, traverse the Ocean Beach and the Mission Bay Bike Paths, enjoy the sunshine. At some point, grab a beer and a burger from one of my Yelp bookmarks: I've been dying to try Hodad's! Or maybe we'd head up to Santa Barbara to the Julia Childs-, Cat Cora-, and Adam Richman-recommended La Super-Rica Taqueria. It's been a bookmark of mine for some time now. Again, we could bring along our bikes, ride up and down State Street, do a little shopping, hang out at the beach, or embark upon some wine tasting. I'm not driving anyway, right? Even a quick L.A. turn-around would be fun, especially if we were to stop off at Union Station and take a walk over to Philippe's, landmark home of the French Dip sandwich. This place was always one of my dear grandfather's favorites. Plus, for added fun and since it's right there, we'd visit brick-lined and tree-shaded Olvera Street, stroll around the marketplace. Of course, we could drive, I guess. (Yawn!) But trains seem more romantic. read more

Riding Pacific Surfliner down to San Diego on Christmas Eve. Very crowded in coach class. Conductor was rude and holding seats for families with kids that didn't exist. Made our family split up to four individual seats when there were open group seats with tables. It should be first come first served. I would have given up the seats for a young family if needed but to have them remain empty is ridiculous. Poor customer service service. read more

My wife and I have had the pleasure & honor to have traveled on the Amtrak's Coast Starlight Los Angeles to Seattle to Los Angeles, we flew back to catch the Empire Builder Seattle to Chicago and then the Southwest Chief Chicago to Los Angeles , all this during the current year and we're not done. I'm retired a former airline employee and I can assure you that after 42 years flying over our beautiful country I never imagined not even in my wildest dreams that there was so much beauty in scenery and people on the land below, specially serving the many routs of Amtrak, I'm so proud of the beautiful people who work for Amtrak, I've taken trains in Europe, Asia, Canada & even South America who have more modern equipment and better non-shared rails as we do here where rails are owned and prioritized by the freighter trains, but we have the BEST people on earth serving our very dear Amtrak, we need congress to support Amtrak in this "Infrastructure Bill" and set aside funds to renovate Amtrak and make new exclusive rails for passenger trains and modernize, bring our Amtrak to international standards, we already have the most important, THE PEOPLE, GOD BlESS everyone of them for making our travels so incredibly memorable and unforgettable. Love Amtrak, it's the MOST romantic journey you will ever take and learn to LOVE this beautiful land and it's amazing people and please don't forget to tip those who serve you. Nice, newer station. Rarely crowded. But I was told by a facilities guy (who was noticeably avoiding me) that ALL of the electrical outlets were turned off. So if you need to charge your phone or plug in a computer (or anything else) you are out of luck. Side note: I knew something was up when I asked the girl at the ticket counter where I could charge my phone and she said there were outlets all over the building but she "didn't know which ones were working", which I thought was odd. Why would any of them NOT be working? Then as I plugged in my phone to almost every plug I could find, I noticed the facilities guy kept avoiding me and turning around every time I tried to catch his attention. OK. He then greeted two girls that he obviously knew. A few minutes later he couldn't avoid me anymore and said it was his first day (an obvious lie) and they turned all the outlets off that very day. I know this all sounds terribly petty, but just be aware - it's a nice station, but rotting from the inside. read more

This is a review for Amtrak at this location - not a review for the ARTIC station, so keep that in mind. Clean station, big signs and clear audible announcements. Go up 3 floors for the Amtrak loading area, then go back down. Restrooms on each floor. I do kinda wish the Amtrak side of the loading station had a booth or kiosk with information for first time travelers or visitors to the area though. Could also use more covered seating in the loading areas. read more

I decided to change things up for my wife and i and book a weekend getaway to San Diego . I booked a trip "Business Class" on the Amtrak Anaheim bound to San Diego for Friday April 9 returning April 11. Today is Monday April the 5th and I received a call from Amtrak saying they were doing maintenance on the tracks on our way home on the 11th. They offered me an $8 dollar refund and told me my wife and I will be riding a bus from San Diego to Irvine than catch a train "Business Class" from Irvine to Anaheim? WTF? I called to cancel my reservation and had to deal with grief, sassy attitude from the supervisor in which I might see a refund in 10 days. I do not recommend Amtrak to anyone. Thanks. Busy travelers who want and need to charge their devices don't deserve to be treated like the homeless people that such a decision was clearly intended to target. My review is based solely off of picking someone up from the train station. The train station is located right by Angels Stadium and across from the Honda Center. There is plenty of parking. It looks like they intended to charge for parking, but they don't. You can drive right in and out. I went inside to check it out. They have ticket counters, clean restrooms, and a couple dining options. The outside is beautiful at night with the colorful lights. The design is great. read more

There have been a number of things I have learned after my recent trip using Amtrak, and all of them bad. 1) If you are disabled, and with a health condition, you better not obtain your ticket via online, for there is no place for you to indicate that you are disabled and need assistance. To reserve assistance, you must call and make your reservation and state you require assistance. if not, good luck to you. 2) If you arrive 15 minutes prior to departure from the Anaheim station, the Amtrak ticket and information area is closed, and there is no one to assist you, as there is a note stating that they are on the platform awaiting the next train. 3) Even if there is no train, there still may not be anyone in the ticket area, so you need to knock loudly on the glass to get any attention. 4) If you use a credit card to obtain insurance for your trip and you have a complaint about the train, you cannot file a claim if you used a credit card to book your travel. The insurance company servicing Amtrak DOES NOT reimburse credit cards, only debit cards. ( My question to Amtrak is why do you offer a credit card when the insurance company you use will not compensate for any issues involving Amtrak, if the ticket was purchase with a credit card????) 5) if you travel Business Class your coach is the last one on the train, and if you are disabled and on a cane, and the length of the train is longer than usual, there is a good chance the conductor on the business class car may shut the door in your face as you approach. This actually happened to me. In addition, the particular train I was supposed to be on only stopped in Anaheim for less than 5 minutes. Very little time for a disabled person to walk the length of the car, and when I did see the agent/conductor of the business class poke his head out I waved my cane at him to tell him I was on that train...it did little good. After missing my train, I had to take a much later train, which ended in LA, and then had to take a bus to Oxnard. I did not get home until 1:00 AM, when I should have arrived home at around 9:00 pm. be careful when traveling Amtrak, and if you are disabled always call to make your reservations and tell them you need assistance, and if you use a credit card and later have an issue with Amtrak, forget about getting any compensation or assistance from the insurance company. read more

This location not only did offer tons of parking but also easy access to find my person, the pick up went so smooth. Don't be afraid to take the train, will try it one day for myself ! read more

This place is really nice that's all I can say.. Navigation with this address is very easy. It takes you right to the front of this fancy palace looking train station. I came here around 11pm so no one was there. The pickup/drop off is right in front. I just don't get why it's so fancy lol it's nice to look at though. If you're picking up- you should look inside. This is a nice station but be advised that the elevator on the track 2 side furthest from the freeway closest to the river has been getting stuck half way up. I reported it last year and someone else just got stuck on it again. He reported it on that information call box and the woman told him they were aware of it. I need customer relations to contact me immediately. I am a part of a group of 8 people that were left stranded by your train in Anaheim tonight. We all attempted to board and were denied the first car by the conductor and told to walk two cars down to board with our tickets. We walked 2 cars down and the doors closed before our group could board. People were almost hurt by the closing doors because the conductors failed to communicate. Their failure has put 8 people in danger of being seriously hurt. Now you have 6 adults and 2 children waiting for an 11 PM train because of Amtrak negligence. I need to hear from someone. read more
