I hired them for my son's 4th bday party. He is infatuated with trains. My son and all the kids went crazy over the train. Had a great time on it. Was nice and clean and made all the whistles and choo choo noises. My son was in heaven. The adults also had fun riding the train...:) I would definitely recommend them.. A few of my friends have already requested their number..:) The only reason i didn't give them 5 stars, was that they arrived late. They were suppose to arrive at 12:30 to setup.. they didnt arrive until 1:20. i lost a few kids since they had to leave. The owner was also having trouble reaching his employee..so we were in the dark for a while...She finally arrived and the owner was very apologetic and agreed to a discount. Also the lady who was driving the train was going very fast. I had to tell her several times to slow down, since there were 2-3 years olds on the train and also the area where she was going was tight around the corners... but overall it was a great train, and my son had a great time and loved it.:)

The train was a great success. The kids were so happy. The driver was very nice and kid friendly. Price is reasonable. I highly recommend it for birthday. It was a hit. I also recommend creating train tickets with ride numbers. You hand out the tickets for each ride so the kids don't have to push and worry of not going on board.

Bruce was just great on the phone and after I filled the online application he called a few days before to confirm date, time and location.

It's a railroad museum with a few railroad cars and a small museum displaying vintage items, models, and what not. The curator is very passionate about this museum and locomotives and can give you a detailed explanation or tour about, well, anything railroad. And the best part? It's all free! But still strongly consider donating or supporting via their gift shop, this is a gem within Lomita and we gotta make sure it stays around for a long time. They also allow for venue renting of the grassy space and across the street as well for any events you want so keep that in mind as well! Small parking lot but there's plenty of street parking too!

This was another gem of a museum we found on our latest SoCal drive,…read more It was tucked away in a residential neighborhood and spread out over two plots of land. A replica train station (which housed the museum and bathrooms) and water tower, two cabooses, tanker and steam engine train were the main attractions. It also had its own small parking lot as well as a large lawn area. You had to press a doorbell at the locked gate in front and one of the staff will buzz visitors in and out. Two docents welcomed us and told us to ask them any questions at anytime. The museum was originally founded by Irene Lewis who used the money from her husband's miniature steam engines business. The museum was later given to the city of Lomita who managed it and admission was free (though donations accepted). Outside the train station we learned via a detailed photo spread just how the trains were moved to and installed in their current places. Inside the museum contents were well organized and spanned a variety of subjects including uniforms, model trains, telegraph (where one could actually tap messages in Morse code), food services, historical train lines, and more. Head into the nearest caboose to see a bit of what it was like to live there and peruse the small collection of adult and kids train and railroad books. Overall time well spent if you happen to be in the area Fri to Sun.

I have been following this "business" for months and what they are running is a total scam the women who run this should be jailed. don't give them any of your hard earned money!! trust me on this one. i got there early and observed two other people go before me, and all of their dogs performed differently, and their response was always the same - "your dog has a lot of potential, we recommend you sign him up for our obeince class," and boom they hit you up with a pamphlet that talks about the very high prices for their class. don't waste your time or your dogs time

Here is the deal. I took Zoey in for an evaluation. She did well, she got a call back. We sat down…read morewith Michelle and talked to her about what class she could go in. We were told about the prices and of course we were put off because we don't have money like that to spend on dog training courses. They said they'd give us a deal and put us in the level 2 class, turns out we find out AFTER we're done with the lessons that we were in fact in the level 1B class. This means we have to do level 2 courses still and all the things that she said we'd be doing after the course we just finished was not going to happen. No Good Canine Citizenship, no dog head shots, no signing up for parts. Well of course we were disappointed and annoyed at being misled. Now I suppose its our fault we didn't clarify and ask if we were uncertain. We could just chalk it up to make sure you read everything that's being written, especially when it's something different than what you agreed on. But the part that really sucks, is we still paid, and maybe 3 out of the 5 classes, the teachers were bad, they barely went over anything new, barely paid any attention during the class, we had 3 different teachers during the course. At one point, one of the trainers went in the back room to check email while we were practicing moves with our dog, she wasn't even checking on us and seeing how well we were doing. There was one good dog trainer and I wish I remembered her name, I think it started like Dina or Diana? But if you still do sign up with them make sure you request her, she's the only good trainer we worked with. I would avoid working with them, or make sure you pay really REALLY good attention to what you're paying for, and make sure they don't tell you one thing and mean another.

Speaking of seasons, they have plenty of items for the various seasons and holidays. On a side note, it is a bummer that retailer Jo-Ann went out of biz by May of 2025. Glad to have HL at two South Bay locations currently. Another Elite yelper may have mentioned how the store layout is arranged by department category and is not numbered. Customer service is hit or miss. Most of the time, I have been on my own depending on which department. On the sales floor no one has approached me to offer assistance. The employees at the framing section have been helpful and efficient. Cashiers have been nice for the most part but their supervisors or leads did not give that same courteous vibe. Hours are 9am to 8pm and closed on Sundays. The Yelp 3 star average overall is accurate.
