My only complaint is that the prices surge depending on occasion. It's normally around $50-60 round trip one weekend it was $124 ONE WAY! I was in disbelief! I've paid as much as $88 one way and honestly, it's criminal! Especially when the food cart isn't always available and sometimes there are delays. But those prices are insane.

This is information that would have been really useful to us at 5am on a Monday morning when we arrived at the address given by Amtrak of where to catch our train. At least on the day we went, the inside of the building did not open until 10am, according to a sign taped by the door. We promptly went back to our car to drive up the road, toward the trains we could see on the tracks, to see if there was a more station-y station further along. And then we drove back. Luckily this time there was another woman who said she had taken the train before, and we were in the right place. The building looked really nice, through the windows. Luckily the two teenagers I was with were not traveling alone, cuz that was a freaky start to our trip. The train ride itself was great. While there seem to be plenty of horror stories about trips gone wrong, we had an uneventful ride to Chicago, and then at the end of the week, back again. With all that said, we would recommend this as a great form of transportation to Chicago and back. But we also would have loved to know we were catching the train at an abandoned building before we arrived. Just sayin.

He navigated through the heavy traffic with no problem and he frequently inquired as to the comfort of us passengers, whether we were too cool or too warm.He used clear communication throughout the trip, letting us know our next station stop and the estimated time of arrival, etc Ron went above and beyond and it was a pleasure riding with him. He also located my sleeping bag in the luggage compartment, which I have temporarily forgotten about. He loaded it in the next bus that we were taking and I really appreciated that. How can you not like that? Far better than the outdated Amtrak station in Detroit, which desperately needs upgrading. And nicer than the 'Amshack' station building that still is used in Ann Arbor.
