What is worst than wasted money? WASTED TIME…read more Where do I begin? The lack of respect for people's time is crazy! The appointments here begin earlier than the time Dr Huberman is scheduled to arrive. You can have the first appointment of the day, and leave after 1:30 PM!? Dr Huberman has ran late every single time... it is always something- the rain... parking... Not only did she always arrive way past her scheduled time, but she walked in with no urgency- I really think that she sat down to have lunch after I waited for her over three hours! Next issue is the location itself- I get that it is a "temporary location." However, the space is dark, small and unwelcoming. The seats are hard and they do not match... no toys or colorful walls for kids to enjoy. They put Bluey on the tv all day. Bluey is cool, but I do not give my baby screen-time so this does nothing for me. Also, this location is hot... They have ACs from like the 80s and they refuse to turn them on. I have had to step out because the heat is unbearable. The next issue is her staff. They are unwelcoming and do the minimum. They have no manners. You say things like "Good morning" and you do not get any response. I had an appointment to see Dr Huberman and when the appointment got closer I received a called, and they stated that the appointment would have to be moved because the doctor was going on vacation. I was not given another appointment during this call, and they failed to call and schedule a new appointment when Dr Huberman got back. - A newborn's appointments are time sensitive, but they did not care to follow up with us. Dr Huberman has great reviews online- I am not sure who is writing those reviews, but those reviews do not reflect my experiences. I changed my pediatrician and I am in peace with my decision.

The front desk staff are very nice and helpful. My appt was at 10am I arrived 945 to fill out paperwork and sign documents which now it's all on a tablet. And after I was done I want to say I maybe waited 10mins to be called in by the nurse which very friendly and took her time. So my doctor is V.Fernandez and wow she is super cool and sweet, I was scared at first because she seems young. But rest assure she is so knowledgeable and knows her stuff, I really loved the fact that she takes her time and explains things to you in a way that you don't need it to be repeated or researched on the web. and your allowed to ask questions and she will answer them with no issues. I also liked that for my blood results I was able to do tele-health because I couldn't make it into the office and yet again eventho it wasn't in person she dedicated the time to address all my concerns. Oh also she is bilingual which is a plus, I didn't need her to speak Spanish but I think it's great for anyone who is looking for a Spanish speaking doctor, I totally recommend her and this located.

Our pediatrician Dr Igel has been attentive and took time to examine and discuss baby's overall needs at every milestone. Only once I had a misunderstanding with the front secretary who was rude on the phone but realized this has improved after I spoke with the administrator. Never had problems with nurses, most we had are vaccines only.. Cannot really say how they will handle emergency and with really sick babies.. Overall, this is a "well thought of" clinic where you can bring your baby.. I'm brining my second one soon..

There are five pediatricians in this office, and i've had the opportunity to interact with three of…read morethem. Before i get into that, though, a review of the office itself: Horrible. Honestly, i can't think of much that goes right in this office. They don't even have an automated system to call patients and remind them of appointments, which is silly when well-baby check-ups are often scheduled months in advance. The reception staff is, on their best days, distracted by socializing with each other. Count yourself lucky if that's what you get, though, because far more often they're surly or downright rude. The average wait time from scheduled appointment to going into an exam room with a nurse for height/weight and the like is 30 minutes. The shortest i've ever waited between the nurse's departure and a doctor's arrival was 15 minutes, but it's been as long as two hours. There's no separation, physical or temporal (i've seen both done successfully in other pediatrics practices), between teenagers coughing up their mono or influenza and otherwise healthy four-week-old infants in for their well-baby check-ups. Even if the doctors at this practice were fantastic, dealing with the office and staff is enough of a nightmare to make anyone think twice. And with that segue, on to the doctors: As i mentioned above, i've had the chance to visit with three of the doctors. (We didn't actually choose my son's pediatrician, as he was born before the interview appointment where we would have had a chance to meet a few of them and see who we thought we'd mesh with best.) Of these three, all clearly know their stuff, and on a technical level i can't fault them. Their styles are so wildly different, though, that i urge anyone not put off by my review of the office as a whole to do interviews before selecting one. Dr. Chambers: I don't remember too much, as we saw her many months ago, but she struck me as friendly, open, and approachable. Dr. Berman: Also friendly and open. Interacted well with my son and with me. Listened to my concerns, discussed options, and generally made me feel like i was relevant to the situation. Dr. Tolchin: In stark contrast to the others, Dr. Tolchin has a rather authoritarian style. She sits behind her desk and asks questions. If you provide extra information that answers a later question, she'll make you repeat it when she gets to that question on the checklist. She doesn't bother with trivialities like saying 'hi' to the baby she's treating. If you like a doctor who doesn't seem to get friendly with patients (or their parents), Dr. T's a good place to start. If you're more a of a treehugger, you might find her style a bit cold and distant. -- So, after all that, maybe you're wondering why this place gets two stars instead of one. First, they have saturday hours. Second, they'll wedge you in for a sick-visit same day, though do expect to wait hours past the supposed appointment time if they do. Third, when my son had to be hospitalized. the doctors at Astor Ave worked very closely with the hospital to make sure everyone was on the same page. (That last one almost bumps them up to three stars, but hopefully most prospective patients will never have to deal with such a situation.)

I…read morecannot' write down all the updates needed... but wow with all the money they receive... it's insane. Stepping in there's 3-4 security guards who are just laughing and gossiping. The check in area is so small and cramped. The waiting area is freezing and the TV is so loud. Then getting evaluated in front of so many other patients. The Peds ED area is cramped and so outdated. The walls need paint, they need to fix their technology. The (2- that they only had) EKG machine didn't work and after a while only worked manually. Nurses and patient techs have to be a healthworker and IT. The X ray machine looks beaten up. Care teams are good, most patient techs are in a corner gossiping and forget to bring patients items. This ED is in the last century and it's disappointing. Patients and staff deserve better!!!

My sons severe rash got misdiagnosed. He had a rash on his face and back and they were big red…read morepatches. The nurse that saw us in the emergency room was nice. She wasn't sure if the rash was cradle cap or eczema. She asked this doctor for a second opinion. He stepped in, took a quick look without actually examining it, said "Yeah that's cradle cap" and walked away in a rush. They told me to just apply moisturizer. The next day his rash got worst and turned raw. I decided to take him to Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan instead (I live in the Bronx). They confirmed it was eczema and provided eczema cream for him. Not "Just use moisturizer". It cleared up the next day. I was furious at the fact that I was told the wrong information from Montefiore when it could've been taken care of overnight. My 3 month old was so uncomfortable. The diaper changing station was also broken in the emergency waiting bathroom. I struggled holding it up with my leg underneath while changing my babies diaper which he did number 2 in. Who knows how long that's been broken for. It's pretty sad knowing this is a children's emergency room. My mom used to take me here when I was a kid but now I do not trust them with mine, that being our first and last time there.
