This facility is a better option than most when you have a family member that needs dialysis…read more However like most places they are under staffed and spread out thinly. My mother went to Arbors last Friday. She had a horrible bedsore on her bottom that required a lot of monitoring and care. One time she indicated needing to go to the bathroom. We pushed the call button and nobody came. After a half hour I went to the nurses station and said my mom needed to go to the bathroom. My mom was non mobile so needed assistance. The nurse said it would be a few minutes. After 20 minutes I went back up and saw an aide. I said my mom needs the bathroom. They did come to her room quickly but she already went in the bed. With this bedsore the last thing she needed was to be laying in urine or fecal matter. The next day when we saw her she had a bad cough that sounded like pneumonia. They said they ordered a chest X-Ray and it would be done within 4 hours. By the time we left it hadn't been done. The next day they gave her the chest X-ray and it came back negative. They brought her to dialysis and during dialysis her blood pressure dropped significantly and she was sent to the hospital where it was determined she did in fact have pneumonia. So while my mom wasn't there a long time I definitely saw issues with the staffing and response time. Unfortunately while at the hospital my mom went into sepsis shock and passed away. Today we went to the to Arbors to pick up her belongings. While there in her wing we saw no employees. She had a special blanket that disappeared after her first night that was nowhere to be found. While Arbors of Milford was not the worst facility however all of these facilities have their problems and if nursing care can be avoided I would recommend that. Keep your loved one home as long as you can because once they go into a facility they may not live much longer.

We do not need to be afraid of losing our home or our apartment due to loss of wages or benefits. We have 3 meals a day whether we like them or not. A nurse brings our meds. And we have someone get coffee, ice and pull-ups. (We need very little care ). All of our medical needs are taken care of by our nurse practitioner Alex ... our psych needs too. To sum it up... We are greatful to be able to be here at the Arbors. We have nothing to be concerned with except the day to day enjoyments... knowing we are safe and cared for. Thanks for letting me write this.

I guess there really is a shortage of dermatologists in Cincinnati - that is the only way these…read moreguys stay in business. Dr. Fixler (the younger) is very austistic spectrum - no eye contact and likes to talk to you from the doorway like he's trying for a getaway. The decor in right out of better homes and gardens 1973. All wood panelling (from 40 years ago) and the chairs are just as old. The front desk staff is rude and uncaring.

Zero 's Dr Dinosaur would not listen to me about healing…read morewith keloids. I insisted that scar tissue would build up worse than the mole. He proceeded to force his weight onto my leg and use the hole punch anyway, He cauterized the deep hole and it would not stop bleeding. He was called back into to office and he grabbed the device, touched it. I told him to stop because he used his dirty fingers to use again on my leg. He shoved it on the bleeding biopsy and said "No I didn't" like a child, when I watched with my own eyes. No gloves were used, the hole in my leg healed 10 mos after the procedure and I've had foot pain ever since. Serious foot pain to the point I've gone to a podiatrist. Turns out Dr Fixler nicked a nerve that is shooting pain into my foot to the point I can no longer stand to put weight on said foot. RUN! Come to find out many of my friends have had similar experiences from both physician's. Not worth the risk, heed my warning. I'm calling the board with my findings.

Upon referral from my Primary Care Physician, I scheduled an appointment for skin cancer screening…read morevia the phone a few weeks ago. The Phone Contact Center agent was nice, she entered me as a new patient, including all my insurance information. She confirmed my insurance was accepted. I arrived for my scheduled appointment and was told that the Milford office does not accept my insurance, which is odd because the phone agent said they did. The receptionist confirmed I was entered in their system as a new patient and that my insurance was also entered. But looking at my card she said I would have to pay out of pocket to keep the scheduled appointment. Neither the receptionist nor the office manager could explain why the phone agent could schedule me. Either their system is flawed, or it is a "bait and switch". I left the office and called the Optima Contact Center. The phone agent was apathetic and said. "What do you want me to do?" No one gave an actual apology. She told me I would get a call back, I have not gotten one yet. I will talk to my primary care Physician to stop recommending Optima. Hopefully they will figure out their mistake so future new patients have a better experience. Was told good things about the Milford Office, but my experience was not good as a new patient and a waste of my valuable time.

From the moment you walk in, you know that this is going to be a first class experience. The office itself is beautifully appointed. They even have a coffee and juice bar. The staff is friendly and efficient. Dr Schaen is very knowledgeable and pleasant. She took the time to thoroughly answer all my questions and came up with a plan. I cannot recommend her enough.
