My cousin was not bathed for several weeks at a time! The so called meals were a joke! Who would serve a person five pieces of toast for breakfast? No fruit or eggs or anything else with it just toast only! They took brand new clothes to the laundry and never brought them back and her name was written inside her clothes but was never returned. What about the night time nurses and aides all going outdoors to hang out with patients needing attention and the phones ringing off the hook and not answered! The receptionist during the day was very rude when asked to find the missing clothes that are still missing! This place is terrible! Do not trust your loved ones here, please consider other places!

The majority of the nurses and just about all of the part-time nurse aids are disrespectful and could care less about what they do. It's clear that they are not being held accountable from management. They use profanity, raise their voices, and take their time. I stayed late one night, and witnessed a nurse aid sleeping in the lobby while 2 rooms had their help light on for over 20 minutes. While the service is poor, the facility also needs a huge renovation. They make it look nice on the outside, but the inside is completely outdated and desperately needs an update.

I was sitting with a friend who lived in assisted living there. I was in independent living at the time. I can only assume that the Lodge allowed a rumor to circulate that I was after his money. Never was this true. We had become friends and he needed help because his power of attorney was not taking care of his needs. He asked me to help him. In retrospect I guess I shouldn't have gotten involved, but I didn't know/realize that his family and the Lodge staff would turn on me. My intentions were honorable....This rumor should have been stopped by the DON. I stood up and tried to get my pamphlet back (it was information on power of attorneys for healthcare....it was NOT anything for him to sign. Thie entire situation was very much mishandled. They handcuffed me and sent me to jail for the night.....saying I was guilty of "physica laggression, and an attempt to cause harm to the aid.". Then when I returned to the facility, Crystal Flaherty DON came to my door with an eviction notice that gave me 24 hours to leave. This entire situation has cost me a lot of money (I have had to move twice). And I was to get on medicaid waiver after paying full price for two years....but the eviction happened just prior to the two year mark. I tried to discuss this with Edward Beatrice COO, but I have found that the Lodge employees stick together, and don't want to deal with the truth...he dismissed me. Then recently he sent me a letter telling me not to communicate with anyone at the Lodge and "to refrain from making or spreading false statements about "Caring Place" Wow....talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

Most staff was temperary. Abannoned me on toilet, in painful position Did not answer emergency button when I needed help. Caused unnecessary physical pain by wrenching me into unnecessary stance. Demeaning, uncaring nurses and aides. Did not have my medicines available. Refused to follow my doctor's medication protocol for pain meds. Disrespectful of basic human needs. Don't make this mistake of choosing a glittery place that hides the darkness of an uncaring, cruel, and demeaning monster.

She was well liked by the residents and their family, often receiving thank you letters and cards for going above and beyond what is expected of her. In Feb. 2012 the fuel pump went out on her car. She brought in a receipt for repair, but was still written up. Now this alone seems fairly cruel to discipline someone for something unexpected that could happen to anyone. But what really takes the cake. Easter Sunday she was scheduled to work and woke up to a dead battery. Again she called her job, left messages, and brought in a receipt. The following Monday she worked, was off Tuesday, and FIRED Wednesday. The lack of compassion from the management here is rampant. The care more about their bottom line than for the years of hard work and dedication their staff put in. Just imagine putting your vulnerable loved one in the care of these types of people. Imagine how far they would go to pocket as much of your hard earned money they can.
