When I was pregnant, I knew I wanted a beautiful maternity session, newborn shoot, and first year shoot. I reached out to a family friend and she recommended Amy Raab. Every single session by Amy was professionally (and patiently) conducted. Our Maternity shoot took place in February of 2018 at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and despite the incredibly cold weather, Amy was able to capture wonderful photos. For our other sessions we met Amy at her sweet little studio and the pictures were absolutely adorable! Her prices are incredibly fair and her turnaround time is quick. Our son has changed so much over the first few months of his life and we are glad we invested in some high quality photos to capture his sweet looks! I knew when I was expecting that I wanted to capture the sweet, smallness of our newborn in the best way possible. Amy's style has just the softness that I was looking for. I booked her in March (way before my late August due date) and I can't say enough great things about her. First, she was so patient with us. We had a whirlwind of a birth story that ended up meaning a longer than we planned hospital stay. We were only home for one night before our pictures the next morning. We ran late due to a required stop at the pediatrician and she gave us so much grace. Watching her work was amazing. We followed her tips (Follow her newborn tips guys! She knows!) and our little girl never made a peep. The photos are beautiful and something I will cherish forever; perfectly capturing that tiny, squishiness of a newborn. Secondly, I loved that her price was for the digital drive of photos. To have the ability to have them all and not have to pick my favorites for prints was huge for me (choosing between them for me would have been like having to pick a favorite child). I was able to print them at my leisure and when it was best for our budget, and if I ever want to change them up I have the flash drive to print a different one. Many of the other local photographers charge what she does only as a sitting fee, then require you to choose prints for an additional charge. I plan to use her from here on out for any milestone photos I may want and she will always be my first choice for newborns!! read more
