The worst part of it was that the technicians aggresively scratch your head so hard. It felt like my skin was being torn off. Quite painful ever after asking for softer force. It was not pleasant nor relaxing at all. They shampoo twice and condition once and then blow dry your hair. They ask you to sit up to do some massaging on your shoulders. Then you are asked to sit in front of a mirror where they serve you cold water and finish blow drying. Then the 'spa' treatment is done and they start to clean up the room and ask you to change.. but they're still there and the door is also wide open to the public area. The technicians were nice people but they really need to reformat their spa style. I also noticed they had extremely long nails which I assumed they also work at the nail salon. This may be the reason why their head scratching hurts a lot.

I was supposed to do this procedure last year but had to hold off because of personal reason. I've already did consult last year but Terry wanted to do another one to make sure all my concerns and questions are addressed. I used to go to a different skin clinic before. Unfortunately, the other clinic has gone too busy and too commercialized. The personal touch is gone in my opinion. One thing I like about The One Skin is how they make you feel they care about you. Terry is very kind and you can feel his sincerity. The whole procedure took almost 3 hours including post care. I'm not going to lie. The procedure is painful but tolerable. The numbing cream really helped. The package I bought includes 3 sessions of Scarlet RF, 3 post procedure care and 3 peeling treatments done 2 weeks after SRF. It's just my first session and I feel very good. I will update this review once I completed the 3 sessions. So far so good!

You can tell that they have experience, and have a lot of skin knowledge. I did a hydrofacial to clear my congested skin, and a carbon laser peel after that (my first time for laser skincare). Because laser causes redness and damage to the skin, they provide a free "postcare treatment" where they cool down the skin with gels, serums, and a mister while you relax, that was a nice touch. I look amazing, my pores are smaller, my skin is really radiant and even, and there is this noticeable glow. Most importantly my visible acne and redness are reduced as well. I am really happy. I wanted to come back to do some Botox, so I spoke with the doctor while I was there. She was informative, gentle, and professional. Although yoga helped making me feel better, I decided to go for a massage. I was trying my luck that day to get accommodated without reservation. I walked in, was greeted by the lovely receptionist and asked how she can help me. I told her I wanted a massage. She checked her computer and luckily I only have to wait 1 hour. This Eccotique branch is conveniently located inside Metrotown mall. I could definitely spend 1 hour window shopping. Five minutes prior to my appointment I was already back at Eccotique. I was lead inside and was asked to sit on a couch and wait for my masseuse. I was offered water or tea while I wait. After five minutes, my masseuse came and introduce herself. My masseuse' name is Paige. She then lead me to a private room. The room is of adequate size. Enough for a massage bed and for the masseuse to move around. I was asked to sit on the bed and was told to close my eyes. Paige then pressed her oil damped thumb on my forehead as she asked me to inhale deeply. She did this 3 times each with different aroma oil. I ended up choosing the Rosemary Mint oil. Paige then stepped out of the room and asked me to undress and go under the sheets face down. While waiting, I noticed the relaxing music playing in the background. I hear the sounds of the ocean and then birds. It was really pleasant to the ears. Before starting the massage, Paige asked if I have any injury or if I have parts of my body that I don't want pressure on. I am typically healthy so went for a full body massage. It was heavenly. I like that Paige would always check if the pressure is acceptable. I'm not a masochist. I don't like hurting myself more so paying the person who hurts me! I like my massage to be just right. I can say I went out of that spa a changed person. I felt so relax and loose. It felt like I can do another round of 90 minute hot yoga. This spa is highly recommended.

Am not sure if the results would be any more dramatic than that. I usually like it when they explain the steps and the products being used. My facialist didn't start doing this until the end when I started asking her questions. But I know this is a personal preference and I could have started inquiring about the process earlier. Their line and array of products for sale is impressive and comprehensive. I needed an exfoliator so my facialist sold me one. At first she tried to sell me the full-size but I asked to buy the smaller one as I wanted to trial it first. If I hadn't taken the time to browse through the products, I wouldn't have known to ask for the smaller size first. I usually go to Skoah -which like most spas, features head, neck, and shoulder massage as well as ambience and very cozy beds- but am considering coming back here instead. OptaDerm offers a very competitive price for what seems to basically be the same service.
