I am the owner of a property and trusted these people to take care of my home (manage my property) that I deployed so many times for. First, there was a very manageable issue with the HVAC involving water damage. The guests at the time were being very cooperative. However, their failure to manage this caused more damage and the removal of the tenants. The maids were awful. I found a sucker melted to the floor, dust, crumbs, etc. And I had to call an exterminator it was so bad. They overcharged for basic services an made up charges. Then a guest cancelled at the last minute. They charged the tenants the full price - as they stated - and kept all the money and their commission and refused to explain how that works. Then they cancelled the contract, claiming I wasn't nice and hated women, and charged me $1500. What? They say for advertising and photos...even tough they charged me $500 for the photos up front. What a scam. And they won't share all the property reviews as they are "deleted" upon removing the review. So, they collect $1500 and get to erase their mistakes. They are basically crooks in my opinion. After placing the review, they threatened legal action and even messaged me privately while bringing my mother into the process. I am not a competitor. I just want to rent my own property when I get sent for duty. I wanted them to manage it. If they can collect money off of you with little to no work everything is fine. But, if you complain they get personal really quickly and insult. It's not professional. I recommend reading the other reviews. I changed my own as the legal threats and harassment just became so involved. I wish they put this much tome into managing my property. read more

We used AMZ Realty to manage our vacation property at Canyon Lake and they were great! Gwen handled everything for us and kept us informed as soon as we had bookings! They always addressed guest issues immediately, which allowed us to handle other business. We will definitely continue with them for our vacation properties and rental properties, their management and customer service make it easy to do business with them! read more

We allowed AMZ to manage our home as a vacation rental and were extremely pleased! Housekeeping does a great job and it's nice to have Gwen follow up by checking on our home before and after each rental. Our home stayed booked all summer and never fell short of a 5 star review!!! We love our home and Canyon Lake area so much and are happy we can provide a home that helped friends and families create lasting memories while staying in the Canyon Lake area. We rented a house on canyon lake from this management company. The ac did not work very good could only turn it down to 72 or the unit freezes. We had ants get into all of our food. After we checked out a raccoon opened the door and got in the house. I was charged an additional 500.00$ fee. Turned into a very expensive vacation for us. Beware of Amz Getaways. read more

We just had an amazing vacation up in Canyon Lake and stayed at Beautifully Furnished Sunset Point. When looking for a place to stay we ALWAYS book with Gwen and Mike at AMZ GETAWAYS!! The houses we rent are always beautiful, accommodated with anything and everything we need, never have we walked into a dirty house. They always call and check in with you upon arrival to make sure everything is perfect!! Look no where else when needing to book a lake house in Canyon Lake! I booked very last minute to join my family that was staying very close, (practically next door), to the condo on canyon lake. The condo was beautiful and had so many amenities, I wish we had stayed longer so we could have enjoyed the hot tub! The deck looks right out to Canyon Lake and provided amazing sunset views. There were kayaks included with the rental which were a blast! We loved that the master was on entry level with the secondary bedrooms downstairs. I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful Gwen was - from finding how close it was to where I needed to be, to booking the day before travel! She went above and beyond to make sure we had a relaxing and fun weekend. Great location to Gruene, Wimberly, as well as a grocer right around the corner from the condo!! Definitely plan to book through AMZ again in the future! read more

We found a house on Canyon Lake via VRBO that this company represented. Decided to book the house. We did the whole process and sent in everything they requested. After 3 or 4 days of hearing nothing back I messaged through the VRBO app asking questions. Everytime we used this vacation rental platform before the host were most accommodating and sent us the final confirmation and entry instructions in a timely manner. When I asked Mike Cassel from AMZ getaways about it he was rude, short, VERY confusing and condescending. I showed my wife and several others his response and we all agreed that we didn't want to do business with this guy. Messaged him to cancel and of course, like his responses to the other bad reviews you will read on here, everything was my fault and we are out to "ruin his good reputation" We booked with another house and received all of our stuff the same day. I requested my money back that we didn't care to do business with him or his firm, he stated "you will have to commit credit card fraud and go through your CC company to get this money back" The review tabs are removed from there Facebook page so one can only assume what other scams they pulled that got exposed that they had to remove all reviews and review tab from that platform. Sadly many people probably just accept the bullying these guys do and don't know what to do about it. I on the other hand actually LOVE exposing crooks and look forward to what's to come!! read more

We take an annual trip to the Canyon Lake/New Braunfels area so needless to say we've had our share of using vacation rental companies. We were so glad when we found AMZ Getaways and their team! This was our second year using them and they have continued to meet our expectations in making our vacation a great one! The customer service provided, especially by Gwen is top notch as they accommodated our needs and special requests with ease. They appreciate us and our feedback always taking the time to ask how our stay was and if there's anything they could improve on, which is AWESOME. This company is very unprofessional. I booked a property on 4-17-22 through Air BNB for a trip to New Braunfels for the weekend of 6-3-22. Got the confirmation. Paid the deposit. AMZ reached out to me on 5-17-22 stating it had been double booked and needed to cancel me. I responded back I wish to not cancel. Per the contract/agreement I signed with Air BNB/AMZ due to the double booking they were to put my family in another property of equal value. She sent me a text with a link to look through the properties and pick out a house. None of the houses were water front(which is what I rented originally). The only property that was water front was $4000 more than what I paid. I was never once offered a discounted rate. My only options were to cancel or find another property. Be mindful no one from this company would answer the phone and speak with me in person they only conversed through texts. During this whole text exchange she stated I was being irate and demanding. I reiterated to her that I was not being irate that if she would just answer the phone she could tell my tone through an actual conversation. After 2.5 hours of back and forth texts I received a text from Air BNB that AMZ had canceled me. If I was able to attach pictures I would attach the whole conversation showing I chose not to cancel and all I ask was to accommodate my family with the same type of rental we had originally chose a month prior. Nothing. STAY AWAY!!! I will never rent a property if it is managed by this company! read more

Planned a fun Father's Day weekend with my family at a Canyon Lake condo through AMZ Getaways. Upon arrival we noticed extremely dirty floors with hair all over it. I had to rewash the utensils because when we went to use them there was dried food all over them. The shower tub wouldn't drain because it was completely clogged with something. Lastly, my daughter cut her foot open on broken glass in the living room. Due to unsanitary conditions, we ended our trip a night early and drove home. The next morning after our return, I emailed AMZ Getaways with my concerns and never got a reply email the next day and had to call them to ask if they had received it. An employee at AMZ Getaways stated that the two people that would deal with the situation were in meetings all day and that she had forwarded my email to them, but wasn't sure when they would get back in touch with me. I then had to call back the next day to see when I could speak with someone about my concerns and finally received a call hours later. That employee began to interrogate me and went as far as to accuse me of making it all up and said she was certain I would not be receiving a full refund because we actually stayed at the property for one night. She couldn't even tell me what she was going to do to resolve the problem because she still needed to speak with the owner of the property. A couple hours after my phone conversation with this employee I received a threatening email from another employee at AMZ Getaways that was quite alarming and appalling which stated accusations about me that were completely false. He stated that I addressed the other employee I spoke with in an obscene manner, used profanity, and had a sense of entitlement that wasn't appreciated. He went as far in his email to accuse me of extortion and said that they will be taking legal action afforded to them in the laws of Texas including but not limited to Harassment, Libel, Defamation, and any other civil or criminal infractions that I may be violating or continue to violate. He ended the email stating that as far as their agreement with me was concerned they had fulfilled their obligations and I chose not to utilize the services that were provided to me. He stated my disrespectful entitlement mentality is not appreciated and will be met to the full extent of the law potentially costing me considerably more than the reservation ever did. To say that this was a poor customer experience would be an understatement! If I was able to leave 0 stars for this review I definitely would have. I'm astonished that any property owner would want AMZ Getaways dealing with their properties! I sincerely hope that no other customer will receive this type of treatment from AMZ Getaways all because a renter expressed discontent in a simple email in regards to their stay at one of their properties! read more

Gwen was amazing and made planning a Texas bachelorette party from NYC a breeze. The instructions provided in advance were thorough and easy. The property was better in person than we even expected. I rented a home from this company and would not recommend them to anyone. During our stay, they came in and took pictures of our personal belongings without our permission (that had no relevance to their business or the state of the house). They also noted items we brought and claimed they were the owners' and accused us of taking them from the house. I did not receive any of my $500 deposit. I was threatened with being taken to court and that "they knew everyone in this county" if I wrote about this. I was so threatened and violated by this company I canceled the card I used to purchase the rental. read more
