Nice park that could be better. The check in process could have been smoother. If this is your first time here don't expect someone to greet you at the stop sign. Exit your vehicle and walk across the parking lot entrance to the office on your left. I've been to other parks that had someone come out. Put up a sign saying to check in at office or a phone number to call. Staff was still great and could be seen on the grounds cleaning restrooms and picking up trash. WiFi was great since we parked next to a WiFi tower. Utilities are maintained and water pressure was about 40 psi when I first hooked up. It would be advantageous if management took a picture of every site to show tree shading or utility layout. I did see a cable junction box but never inquired if it worked since our WiFi signal was adequate to get weather updates. Tube rental is on site if floating the river is your thing. I read the office has minimal grocery items. I never looked to see what was stocked. A grocery store is about 5 minutes away. It was a relaxing stay and other campers didn't get wild. I will definitely stay here if the occasion arises.

Stayed at Rio Guadalupe. The RV spots are clean, quite and well kept. A little close to each other but everyone was super nice and very mindful of space. Full hooks ups and water, dump site right there. It has a great dog park which is a big plus for us although there was a small corner that a little dog could get out. Staff was really nice and courteous. The River is amazing and so beautiful. It is a little pricey but worth it. I actually caught my PB out there fishing for trout ! Lots of good places to explore and eat. We would definitely stay there again during the off season.

We camped here with hopes of riding some of their duckies down the Guadalupe the next day. Unfortunately, the river was too low due to drought, and we'd spent enough time walking boats down the Rio Grande in the past week. As for the campsite itself, there are cabins available, and it appears that all campsites include RV hookups, whether you have an RV or not (we didn't). There is a restroom, as well as heated showers. The showers are free to use, despite coin slot machines on the outside walls. The theory is they didn't use to cater so heavily to RVs, but now that they do, the showers are free. We were very amused by the signs on the bathroom doors that read "DO NOT CLEAN FISH IN THE RESTROOMS". Haha. Don't you just love having to warn people not to do something they obviously shouldn't be doing? Also, there were several recycling bins by the restrooms, which I found to be a refreshing touch. Price must have been reasonable because I wasn't asked to chip in, although I was at other campsites we frequented. There is a well-stocked general store, and you can rent tubes, rafts, boats, etc. to take down the Guadalupe. They also sell some boats. Definitely a worthwhile campground, a short drive from nearby San Antonio.

Everything was clean, the staff was incredibly helpful, and there were plenty of fun activities for all ages. We also appreciated how convenient the location was--close enough to shops in case we needed to grab anything we forgot. A very special shoutout to the Recreation & Activities Supervisor, Kim Wertens! She was amazing--so patient, resourceful, and truly went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 90 people. She worked with our preplanned schedule and helped keep all the kids entertained, which made a huge difference for everyone. We would absolutely recommend this place to friends and family and would love to come back again!

Third year at Camp Fimfo -- and unfortunately probably our last…read more Our family has come here three years in a row. This year we booked four days at hundreds of dollars per night. Our nephew is almost four and has ridden the small red and blue slides in the interactive children's water playground during each of the last two years. They were the main attraction he was excited about returning to. This year, after we arrived, we were told he suddenly must be 42 inches tall to ride them. So somehow he could ride these slides when he was younger and smaller, but cannot ride them now. We absolutely understand legitimate safety requirements. What we don't understand is this: The enormous full-size water slides at Camp Fimfo also have a 42-inch minimum. So the little slides in the children's water-play structure now have the same minimum height as the massive elevated water slides. Perhaps there is a legitimate safety explanation for that, but from a customer's perspective it makes very little sense. Even more frustrating, while sitting here today we have watched children who appear to be our nephew's height -- and some who appear shorter -- being allowed down the same small slides. If 42 inches is necessary for safety, enforce it consistently. If this is a new restriction, clearly disclose it before returning families spend substantial money booking their trip. We called the front desk before posting a review to give Camp Fimfo an opportunity to address the situation. The employee was cordial. Their proposed solution was a free ice cream. After spending hundreds of dollars per night on a four-day stay, an ice cream doesn't address the problem. This isn't about demanding that Camp Fimfo ignore a safety rule. It's about clear disclosure, consistent enforcement, and reasonable treatment of returning customers. Watching an almost-four-year-old try to understand why he could ride his favorite slides when he was younger and smaller, but can't now -- while similarly sized children continue riding them -- is incredibly disappointing. We returned for a third year because Camp Fimfo had earned our family's business. Unless this is meaningfully addressed, there won't be a fourth.

So we ended up only staying a hour or two maybe. The office staff was rude and dismissive. While we were enjoying ourselves and playing cornhole, after being there for about two hours, we were approached and told that we needed to leave because my daughter's top was considered "too revealing." We asked security why other guests wearing clothing that appeared more revealing were not being asked to leave as well. The security officer explained that he was simply following the owner's instructions and had been told to ask us to leave because of my daughter's clothing. We also asked why we had been allowed into the pavilion in the first place if her outfit was considered inappropriate, but we never received an answer. Several other guests told us they had not been approached or asked to leave. As we were leaving, one woman even commented that she did not see anything wrong with my daughter's blouse and felt that the issue may have been related to comments made earlier during the live band's announcements, which we did not even hear because we arrived much later. We have always loved coming here, but this experience put a damper on our trip. In fact, my son wanted to go back home the following day even though we still had two more nights remaining on our reservation. We understand that businesses have the right to enforce dress codes, but we would have appreciated clear communication, consistency in enforcement, and respectful treatment.
