Was about to drive on... But I decided to call and Farmer John was more than accommodating! It's a farm meets vineyard meets winery. Anyways, we called and Farmer John came and opened the gate for our two cars. We came in and parked next to the barn. He gave us the choice of tasting inside or outside - we chose outside. After the 15 minutes he needed to get ready, he rolled out with all the glasses and bottles required for a tasting for 5 adults. Most of the wines are fruit forward but we all really enjoyed that about them. They well blended. John also explained that he's not pressured to put out wines that he doesn't feel meet his standard. This is a passion for him. Great conversations followed. The kids all played around the grounds and even went to go meet the farm animals! We all bought 2 bottles (or more) each to cover our tasting. It was great enjoying this time and the conversations surrounded by green grass and a wonderful farm setting. Definitely will be coming back!

There was an additional fire ring with chairs around it also. The barn is beautiful yet rustic with real bathrooms inside. Also a full kitchen w commercial ice maker for use if you have an event there. I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Loved it and would definitely go back

It's secluded with nobody around for at least half a mile and surrounded by Almond orchards. The event we attended was a Intro to Muzzleloader Hunting hosted by the CDFW. It was a fantastic experience plus where else would you get to shoot muzzleloaders in a castle? Okay, the castle isn't finished yet but its super cool and he's been building it for 33 years. Lots of parking, the large bathrooms are clean, theres a big bbq, a covered area for meetings with a nice breeze to stay cool, and several bedrooms set up as maybe an Air-BNB? And you can climb the stairs to the top of both towers. The class was very educational and super fun. If you get a chance to visit, definitely go.

He is a warm and genuine man who, originally from the Netherlands, moved to the United States with a vision of crafting extraordinary architecture. Casper began building Castle Noz in 1991, and his dedication to his craft is truly inspiring--he plans to complete the castle in 2035. While most people struggle with one-year projects, Casper has committed himself to an awe-inspiring endeavor spanning over 40 years. Simply put, the best wedding venue--ever.

The venue is stunning and it hardly needs any decorations to feel complete. The gorgeous brick wall and string lighting steal the show. It's a perfect open floor plan with space for over 200 guests. The kitchen is tucked away in the corner providing an industrial sink, microwave, ice maker, and fridge/freezer, making it easy to store and prepare food for your event. The bar also includes a beverage cooler, bar sink for washing glasses, and plenty of shelves for storing alcohol. The venue is always cleaned, bathrooms always fully stocked, and tables and chairs provided by Cynthia making the planning process such a breeze. Cynthia is a dream to work with. She is super communicative with times available for picking up and dropping off keys. She provided us with a detailed walk through of the venue before our event, letting us know how to turn on lights and ac/heater unit. She let us know where to find everything we would need. She was so generous with time to set up and break down for our event both times that we've rented with her and we couldn't be more appreciative and happy with our experience each time. I'll always recommend this venue to anyone looking.

The ceremony itself…read morewas held in a small clearing in Heartwood forest and then you walk down a short distance where the cocktail hour/dinner area is set up. Even though it is extremely hot in Oakhurst, the venue, being in a wooded forest, is a very comfortable temperature, not too hot and you don't need a jacket at all, even at night. It is a bit of a pain to get to though - you have to drive up a winding mountain for about 20 minutes coming from Oakhurst so if you are planning on drinking at the event, make sure you either have a DD because coming back down that same road at night with no street lights and while under the influence can be dangerous. The venue itself was a bit confusing for us to navigate. We had to ask people passing by for directions on where to go but we eventually got to where we needed. It is also quite dusty so be prepared to have your shoes and the bottom of your outfits covered with dirt. And being up in the middle of a mountain, be prepared for no/poor reception.
