I went here 2yrs ago for my upcoming wedding. We met with the owner who was too busy to sit with us. She kept getting up to deal with staff and calls leaving us to sit there waiting. Cake samples we're tiny slivers of cake that mostly tasted of freezer burn. When discussing my flowers she didn't like my selection saying she'd never use those specific flowers, pushing her BIG floral arrangements I didn't like. I held firm on MY preference of flowers only to have her say that if she made the flowers I wanted she wanted me to sign a waiver saying she made them under duress & wouldn't be held responsible! She didn't like our chapel or thay I didn't have any venue ideas. Overall I was relieved when appt was done. I wasn't made to feel special as a bride hopes to feel when planning a wedding. I was made to feel uncomfortable & incompetent at planning my wedding & that I didn't know what I wanted. That may have been the case but wasn't that "Her" job as the wedding consultant to help me?Maybe it was my modest attire and small intimate wedding & reception that was a waste of her time that she showed a lack of interest in my wedding I don't know but whatever it was she had no interest in our appt. We were very pleased with how the cake looked like. I gave a few samples/ideas and SweetDreams delivered it well! It's how we imagined it to be. We ordered a 5" and 7" 2 tier french vanilla cake with raspberry filling. It was so fresh and not too sweet, and we loved that! We had a small intimate ceremony of less than 20 people and this size was still more than enough. We even froze the other layer. Our conversations, transactions and delivery all went so smoothly! My little birthday arrangement was beautiful when I picked it up, it was around $80, a little treat for myself. As instructed, I got them right home and into water. Within 36 hours (a day and a half) the arrangement was so droopy that it could not be used as a table centerpiece as had been intended. Being it was my birthday, I went out of town for a few weeks but when I returned I called Laura to tell her what had happened, suggesting perhaps a partial refund or some attempt to help. She asked for photos which I sent, then questioned the date on the photo which was date stamped on the top. In the end she basically said I should have called earlier. Very disappointing. read more

The wedding cake was the 2nd most expensive purchase of my whole wedding. Wedding cake is and was very important to me. My mom had always talked about loving her wedding cake, and every since I was little I knew I needed a great cake. The cake I taste tested at Sweet Dreams was absolutely amazing but not what I got. Unfortunately when I got my cake and my husband and I tasted it, it was not what we had ordered. We ordered a cheesecake with chocolate mousse that's it! When we took a bite there was raspberry filling in it! Totally changed the cake. Laura also shot down my cake design which made me feel stupid, and when I got my cake it did not look like my picture. She also requires a deposit when you order and then a finishing payment 3 weeks before your cake date. I'm not complaining about that. However, 2 weeks before the date of our wedding I had received no call from sweet dreams. I called and was reprimanded that the finishing payments were supposed to be in a week ago. But sweet dreams NEVER called me! Mind you we ordered our cake months before our wedding, yet I the costumer was the one to remember about the closing payment. Overall when I look back at my wedding, it was great, except the cake. Which it may be silly but the one thing that I was picky/excited about when it came to my wedding (the cake), was a real disappointment to me. read more

We initially were only going to get a cake from their sister company but we met Laura and she took time during our cake tasting to meet with us without a scheduled meeting. She took the time to work with us and give us ideas of what we wanted as well as ideas we had not thought about. On the day of the wedding, everything we ordered was amazing. Though some of the Corsage's did have some flowers falling off, they did warn us that the Galaxy Orchids were very delicate and have the potential of them not sticking well. Big disappointment. We were so excited to taste wedding cake options. Pros: She does seem to create beautiful cakes. It seems the awards are purely based on this one feature. Cons: She was so cold and unfriendly. Rarely have I felt so unwelcome. It was truly awkward. It was a relief when it was over. I have a severe gluten allergy. So we tried her gluten-free cakes. They were just okay. Not a lot of flavor and the texture was just okay. Some of our party tried the regular flour cakes. The strawberry was well liked but the rest were blah. Then she announced that if we purchased her cakes we could not bring in cake from any other bakery. Such arrogance!! Seriously!? I can buy what I want from whom I wish. In short, we will not be returning. Over priced for blah cakes from a cold, unfriendly, arrogant baker. Not my cup of tea. I won't deny she has artistic abilities, but that isn't enough for me to be a patron of her bakery. read more
