Tom was an absolute gem! We stopped by here on our way back from Yosemite. Lovely shop, with lots of local items. We sat at the bar and chatted with Tom while we did our tasting. My friend grabbed a charcuterie box for snacking. Another couple came in and got a panini. It looked so good that we split one. For $9, we couldn't pass it up. It was a perfect late lunch. The wines were delicious. I've recently gotten into drier wines and these were smooth as well as delicious. The Chardonnay and the Cabernet Sauvignon were my favorites. I ended up ordering a glass of the Cabernet while we split our panini. Overall, Tom was entertaining and had great stories to tell. Our tasting was an enjoyable stop for our trip home.

Another wonderful evening at Vista Ranch. I was sad there wasn't any corn salsa, BUT the Pico de Gallo was delicious. The tomatoes were so fresh and delicious. We always have the el captain pizza. Best ingredients Music was perfect too One voice with his guitar... county

The Vista is a great way to start off your weekend. Thursday and Friday nights you can enjoy live music your choice of wines, beers and non alcoholic beverages and live music. A breeze usually accompanies the festivities and makes for a cool evening. If you haven't tried the Vista yor''re missing a great time. Check to see if their open as it's a seasonal event. Wine tasting and casual wine drinking is year round. It's well worth it.

Very nice host for tasting. Lots of red wines. Also in the tasting room they have a kitchen off to the side so you can grab a bite to eat and a glass of wine or just stop in for a tasting. There are also a lot of snacks you can buy for the road. However, having a kitchen they still had no bread or crackers to cleanse your palate between wines. Overall, it's great place for tourists coming through on their way to Yosemite or starting off your wine tasting for the greater Madera area. I mostly am giving the three stars based on my view of their red wines. To me they lacked body.

One of the great little hidden gems of Merced! I don't think I've had a wine there that I didn't enjoy. The staff is always friendly. I also absolutely love going for Summer Nights. Oven brick pizza, tri tip sandwiches with fresh fruit. And their homemade sangria are so tasty! Love the vibes here! Always enjoy good conversation with friends, food and music. Would recommend people who are passing through to stop and check it out!

I'm not a big wine fan so usually I'll do the slurp thing to taste the notes or take a sip or two and then pass my glass off to my husband, rather than dumping it. I've been to umpteen wineries around California, the US and internationally. This winery gives, hands down, the stingiest pours I've ever experienced. I could maybe get two sips out of a pour. And yet this tasting was $15 for 4 wines, but if you're a party of 6 or more, the fee for the same tasting goes up to $20 per person! Since when does pouring maybe a half ounce into more glasses warrant everyone in the party being charged $5 more bucks a piece? It feels stingy. I went to 4 wineries in the same weekend I visited Crū. J. Lohr in Paso charges $20 per person for 6 generous pours and a free pencil with herb seeds to plant at home. Eberle Winery in Paso does free tastings and yet have generous pours, free bottled water and a free tour of the underground storage facility. Quady in Madera charges $5 per person for a tasting and not only were the pours generous, we tried 7 wines, got to double back on our favorites before we ordered a half case. The server was nice and personable. I have no complaints about her. Overall it doesn't feel like a fun wine tasting experience when it seems like they're rationing their wine. While not the end of the world, there isn't much of a view for the outdoor patio because the tasting room patio is between the building and a fence with a road on the other side. If you're wanting to see vineyards while you sip, this isn't the spot for you. There was also a couple with a toddler at a table - with an iPad, playing a video outloud without headphones - while the parents were wine tasting inside, so just know that kids are allowed if that matters to you. I've never seen anything quite like these. The smell of all the citrus trees combine with the natural cooling underground was amazing and made the tour comfortable. The owner and staff were super welcoming and walked us through all their offerings, which made the experience even better. We kicked things off with a cider flight--our favorites were Early Harvest and Graveyard. Early Harvest was simple, crisp, and just sweet enough, while Graveyard reminded me of a Scottish smoky cider aged in whiskey barrels. I do wish there were a few more sweet options overall and possibly a current up to date list of what's on tap somewhere online, but everything was well-crafted and flavorful! To cool off, we grabbed a cider slushy (highly recommend!) and wandered the property. We visited the goats, strolled through the apple trees, and made friends with their big fluffy Pyrenees who was living his best life napping in the shade. I picked up a bottle of Early Harvest and a t-shirt to bring back to DFW. It was the perfect stop--relaxed, local, and a great way to start the afternoon before heading into Yosemite. After our tasting, we walked through some of the apple trees, visited the cutest goats, and made friends with their big, lazy Pyrenees dog who was living his best life soaking up attention.
