I was told my insurance would cover my injections. After several rounds of treatment(which did not help) I received a huge bill. When I questioned the bill, I was told that the delta bay surgery center, which is in the same building and owned by Anand, did not accept my insurance and I was responsible for the bill. Crook. We were told multiple times prior to anything being done that our health care plan approved the procedures and it was covered. Come to find out doctor on his office never obtain the proper approval and the health care plan refuses to pay and this trap hole office has the intent to try to charge us for services they did not get approval for Their own employees admitted that they were having billing problems with the company they used. I was referred to this doctor for pain management by my primary care doctor on August 20, 2014. The referral was pre-authorized by my insurance company in writing. On September 3, 2014, I called the office to inquire since I had not heard from them. Some rude woman answered the phone and refused to acknowledge my referral, let alone get up and go look for it when asked. She then proceeded to ask me what type of insurance I had and when I told her, she was quick to dismiss me by saying "we are not scheduling any appt's at this time" and "when we get the referral, you will be placed on a waiting list." Since she refused to confirm receipt of the referral, I faxed it again to their office immediately on September 3, 2014 and requested a call back to confirm. Well, as of today, I have not heard from this office. I called again today and no answer. It is apparent they do not care about potential patients and/or business. I highly do not recommend this office. Based on the previous negative review, I am not surprised by their unprofessionalism and extremely poor customer service skills. (This is the second review I've written about Dr. Arud Anand), who I'd seen at his Benicia, Ca. office. The first review I wrote wouldn't go through, for some reason, but I later saw that they'd both been entered. (He's a Big Boy, & a bully to boot, he can handle it)! Dr. Arud Anand is the rudest, most confrontational, unprofessional Dr. I've ever seen. I felt as though he failed to display any level of professionalism, let alone empathy or compassion towards a potential new patient. I went to him via referral, and was absolutely shocked by his lacking "bedside manner", unwarranted sarcastic remarks, and unnecessary snide comments. I had my current, correct medical records with me, and he was questioning me about various items from records he'd been sent. After he asked me about something incorrect, his copies contained, I told him that I did not, & had never used this particular medication, (nor would any Dr have RX'd it for me), & he outright called me a liar! (He then asked me, "are you saying that Dr. ______ is lying"? I said "she is obviously mistaken". He then replied, in a very loud, rude voice, "well what if I told you that this is what she told me"? I answered, "well if she's not "mistaken", then yes, she is a liar". (A previous Dr. I'd seen, who had also treated my husband), had inadvertently entered into my medical record, some medications from my husbands chart, that very obviously were RX'd for my HUSBAND, since testosterone injections aren't RX'd for women! It was my first, (and obviously, last), visit with him. I left his office very upset, angry, frustrated. I was at a total loss to understand what possible motives he could have had, for his horribly antagonistic "exam techniques". (I should also mention that I was NOT asking him for medications of any sort, including narcotics). I would not recommend going to this Dr. for any reason. read more

I had previously given this office 2 stars because of the nurse practitioner's bedside manner. I have since taken that review to 1 star because the inept office staff & bad patient services by the staff & doctor. To start, Dr Anand uses Dragon software (or something similar) to record treatment. While there is nothing wrong with this in itself, he does it with the next patient in the room. So you, as the next patient, are now hearing all of the health history, medicine allergies, and all sort of other information about the previous patient. This is a blatant violation of HIPPA regulations & the staff know it. Yet they expected me to tell him he was violating regulations instead of waiting for him to finish before bringing me into the room or telling him themselves. Also, when taken in for your appointments on the third floor, they will leave you in the room with the door open, also HIPPA violation since they the bring other patients past the open door. As I stated in my tip about this office, when you make an apt, ALWAYS make sure you are given an apt card & make sure the time written on it matches the time you scheduled for. I failed to get an apt card because I entered the apt into my iPhone calendar as I scheduled it. Then when I showed up for my apt I'm told they have to reschedule me because the apt I scheduled for 3 was in their system for 1 something. I told them I scheduled it for 3 & described who made my apt & was basically just told I was wrong & I was almost 2 hours late. Then was told that when I was in a few days prior for a procedure that I was told the time when I was being scheduled for the follow up for the procedure. However, when I was scheduled for the follow up she started to tell me that I was scheduled then I cut her off & said what day I was scheduled for & the reason for the apt. Then I asked if I could use that as the procedure follow up & was told it was too soon by 2 of the staff members. When they rescheduled my apt, instead of asking me about availability I was just handed a card with new date & time. When I said I couldn't do that one one girl got huffy & went back to the computer to get a new time while another girl asked in a snotty tone why I couldn't make that apt. I was then handed another card with a new time & date which I couldn't do either. When I said I also couldn't do that one, the girl doing the scheduling (the huffy one) turned snotty & asked, "well when can you make it because I can't just keep going back & forth?" I replied with, "well maybe if you asked when I could make it instead of just making an apt for me." Again, like I stated in previous reviews & tips for this office, unless you are like me & have no choice but this office because of insurance, RUN! When you go to your apt they tell you to allow 1-2 hours. Well I've been there 4 times & had to wait at least that long to be taken into the room & 3 times I had to wait that long again once I was in the room before I was even seen. read more

My experience with Dr. Anaud have been nothing but awesome!!! I have been a patient of his for at least four years or so and from the moment I walked into his office til this day he has always treated me with the utmost respect and has gone out of his way to make sure that I as his patient am being serviced as best as he or his team could possibly service me. There have been issues from time to time with his staff but he has always tried to resolve those issues as quickly as he possibly could. His techniques are up to date. He listens and he always asks me for my input. I NEVER feel rushed even though he has an office waiting for him. I truly appreciate this dr with all that I have! Thank you Dr. Anaud!!!.....L. This business is poorly run. Dr. Anand use to be interested in his patients when he first started. Now he hardly spends time with his patients and is frequently irritable. Perhaps it's because his office is run so poorly and no one does what they are suppose to do. They are understaffed and the staff he has are young and very inexperienced. Often you can here the girls in the front office gossiping and chit chatting when they should be working. Plan on spending your day there if you have an appointment because you will likely spend hours and hours waiting to be seen. The physician assistance, Cheri Arbizu is great! She spends the time with her patients and is very helpful and clearly knows a lot about pain management. She is a ray a sunshine and the only reason I have continued to go to this office for medical care. Dr. Anand frequently leaves early with little notice now according to his office staff. Most the time they don't even give you a courtesy call to cancel your appointment blaming it on the short notice they receive from Dr. Anand. This is sad since so many patients can't even drive and depend on others for transportation. My fear is Cheri Arbizu will get fed up with the scheduling issues, young inexperienced staff and leave the practice. I wouldn't blame her for leaving though. So with this being said I am thinking on finding another doctor because this office is such a mess I don't see how anytime soon the dynamics will change. read more

I completely agree with "DM M of American CAnyon" of this doctor. I too was yelled at for "wasting" his time to which I responded equally forcefully that I had PAID for his time. He didn't have much to say to that. I left, never to return. My GP had warned me about his personality but I thought I could handle him; he isn't worth the time or effort. Besides, I want more options than epidurals and narcotics/opiates -- neither of which I can or will use. Watching people go in and out of his office was like watching a drug dealer's customers come and go with their bags of goodies! read more

For the first time in 5 years I'm pain free! Had injection procedures in my hip and couldn't believe the wonderful results! To me it's a miracle and it's lasting longer then expected! I know everyone is different but I had nothing to lose but my pain. I would recommend Dr Anand to everyone who is serious about ridding their pain! read more

I was a patient there a few years back,and i loved the treatment i received,the staff and doctor was attentive to my needs,and helped to make me as comfortable as possible,while they tried different treatments to try and help me become pain free.i would still be there ,but my insurance no longer covered me to be seen there. Dr. Anand is a wonderful doctor he is very good with his patients you might wait a while to see him when you get to his office but in the end it's all worth it he has some patients that are over the top from what i have seen they give him and his staff a had time but over all he is a wonderful doctor!!! read more
