Nice place on Lake Inguadona. One side is basically a sports bar. The other side is more quiet and geared towards family or friends looking for a nice view and a good meal. They also have great pizzas with thin crust or hand tossed. They have a pretty large menu with daily specials. read more

Very disappointed. (It was not busy). I ordered and paid for a grilled chicken wrap, and I got a Canned chicken on my wrap, no lie!! I could not believe it. My husband ordered the walleye basket, and I can honestly say that fish sticks have more fish in them than his walleye did. There was basically no fish. They could of switch vendor and it might not be their fault, but they should not serve such poor, quality food. Also, not a huge deal, but we order bush lite tap and the owner poured and served bud lite tap, I let our server know, but I still paid for the beers. Service is good. Love the food! The Anchorage has been a family favorite for years. The breakfast is fantastic, the Minnesota omelette is my go to. For dinner, you cannot go wrong with their Buffalo wings, cauliflower crust pizzas, or the walleye supreme. The ultimate margarita or two is always an excellent accompaniment :) read more

Food is always good. However, ordering our "make your own " pizza on line was very confusing. Two different prices. When I picked it up the price was more than anticipated. Over $30.00 for a large thin crust pizza is outrageous! read more

Have been to the Anchorage many times, with mixed results. I've had pizza there, which is quite good, and a few of their other items that were good. Last weekend? Not so much. I and a friend had the pork tenderloin sandwich. It had bacon, cheese and a breaded pork tenderloin on marble rye toast. It was so dry, gaggingly dry! Not sure what they could do to it in it's current state to make it more moist. I do know that making it out of fresh, hand-breaded pork would help. (Had same sandwich elsewhere that was made that way). Guess I'll just stick with pizza. This restaurant, and many others in the "Northland", could improve their food 1000% if they just copied other restaurants that make fantastic food, no magic there. read more

Service was great , friendly staff , large variety menu , I like the fact you can walk around the restaurant. Like the fact they offer vegetarian options as my wife is a vegan , I had there chicken special it tasted fresh and was good , comfort home food . The drink were at reasonable prince , my only criticism would be that I order their draft beer, which I believe there CO2 system was way off as it had no head an it tasted flat . The waitress did offer to changed as she saw me make a face to my wife but I told her it was alright as it wasn't the end of the world for me . Good, local eatery at least for breakfast, which is why I was there. Met some out of town, long time friends so we had much catching up to do and to our delight the wait staff was very understanding, but us in an area where we could readily talk. They didn't rush us, kept us plied with hot coffee and the breakfast was very good! We all four had the same thing -- the Minnesota omelet, which was served hot and with a side of wonderfully done hash browns and toast. The omelet was chockfull of wild rice and so it was delicious! Four of us went for dinner. We entered and read the sign saying you can only hold up a table for an hour and a half. We were seated and they took our drink orders. They came back five minutes later And we were ready to order. Two hamburgers a cheese philly and a Reuben. One hour and fifteen minutes later we got our food. I was a server for 5 years and I I am pretty understanding when things are busy but for a waitress to flat out refuse to get me a ranch b/c we were not her table and "not her problem" was the craziest thing I have ever heard! I give the Anchorage 5 stars mostly in comparison to what is available in the region. Good rural small town atmosphere, good food, and good service. A lot of places in the area are missing 1 or 2 of these things. "Good" = "great" in this area. I always feel comfortable at the Anchorage and somehow it always feels like vacation when I am there. I usually avoid the dining room and prefer the bar area, even when I'm just there to eat. Good TV coverage for sporting events. My fallback is a black and bleu burger with some Reuben balls for an appetizer. Dependably tasty! read more

We had lunch today and my Anchorage dip sandwich was fantastic. I got the side salad and it was very good. My husband got the fried walleye with coleslaw. He thought the walleye was delicious but the coleslaw was to bitter. I have to say though he likes very sweet coleslaw. The service was great. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Crazy night at Anchorage Inn. The waitress yelled at my friend when she did not order fast enough and again when she asked for seperate checks, she yelled at the guys behind us and she yelled a man at the table next to us, since he did not order his drink fast enough. It really was unbelieveable. I have worked in many restaurants in my 50 years and we eat out about three times a week and never, ever has anyone acted this way before. All of the food, except for the pizza came cold to our table. The pizza was delicious, everything else was cold, so did not taste very good. After the waitress brought the food to our table, we did not see her again until she brought the check. People around us went and refilled their own beverages, since no one came to the tables. We will not go back and I have to warn others. Not a very relaxing atmosphere. read more

Our first time at Anchorage and it was a good Saturday lunch. I had the Gyros flatbread, which was very tasty & my husband had a BBQ chipotle burger. It's a cute place with a cozy feel. Only one waitress and it was packed, so had to wait quite a while for our food. Only downside to our visit. We will be back for their wood fire pizza! read more
