It brings back memories of my tutu-and-pink-satin ribbon-inspired Cindy Ballerina childhood - the smell of new leather bloch shoes, the body forming leotards that will soak up your blood, sweat and tears for that year, those cute little bun-holders that look like they were knit by someone's grandma. Even the way the store's clothing - skirts, leggings, tops, leotards - gets lined up together, with little girls' 6X to grown woman's XL in ascending order - from miniature to big-people sizes - is adorably cute and pulls at my ex-dancer's heart strings. Tap shoes, flamenco shoes, pointe, jazz boots, ballet slipper - I've owned them and they've got'em. What amazed me was that the prices here - compared with what Lululemon typically charges for yoga wick wear - are WAY less. And I'm a yogi. I LOVE Lululemon... but, honestly, I'm thinking the next time I'm in the market for a pair of stretchy pants or a cute top I might just head over to Adajio. Where you'd pay upwards of $90 for a pair of yoga pants at Lulu, here they're $55. Tops are under $40. At Lulu - $60. Lulu's dance-wear line is easily 20-30% more expensive than at this dance shop. And from what I remember, that's a good thing, because dance classes aren't cheap - especially if you're dancing four or five days a week. Mom would have had a heart attack trying to find more ways to pinch and save to pay for my rec dance addiction, if Lululemon were on the scene, back, uh, .. in 1987! Now I'm older and wiser, and I don't look as svelte in a leotard but, man, do I ever get the meaning, now, of that timeless adage: "Dance like no one's watching."

I think because they make sure to order lots of stock.It also gets busy after school and on Saturdays in August and Sept. especially 2nd week of Sept - October. I think this is because a lot of parents leave it to the VERY LAST minute. So I was prepared to be patient and save Lots of time so I won't be late for my daughters class. Also, they do not have a public washroom so use the mall bathroom before you go in. But with all the extra staff I had a great experience.

I was near this store and decided to check it out. Was not very busy like I am used to, so I was really surprised that literally no one said hello to me or asked if I needed help. I looked around to see what they had. Just the regular dance stuff you would expect. I did see some underwear kind of like spanks body wear that I thought might be great under a new dress I bought. Slimming you know. I had to really try hard to get the clerks attention and when I asked about them said they were for dancers only. I used to be a dancer!!! A little heavier but don't make me feel bad about it. I think I'll just stick with Adajio dance. Won't feel judged there.

We arrived on time and once they confirmed our appointment the salesguy was very patient and personable. He also offered us free water. We probably did not need an appointment to just look at fabric and current blazer styles. Many bright/colorful options which we had trouble finding at other stores. Was quoted ~2,500 for a blazer in our chosen fabric - YIKES. Price includes full lining, if you opt out of lining you still pay full price. Our chosen fabric would take 6-8weeks (not including final fitting) but another fabric choice would have been closer to 3-5weeks. Also the fabric people take a month off in the summer - usually August he said so he said if you do not order Before August it will be a 4 week wait for them to be able to order again. Overall we did not go with a custom blazer from here, due to the price but maybe one day! The other clothing sold here is very high end = pricey. My boyfriend was very heartbroken the sweater he liked was $700 lol.
