Dr. Anderson and his staff are the most effective team in the Orlando area for anything asthma and/or allergy related. Dr. Anderson listens attentively and takes in the entire patient picture before diagnosing. Everyone in the office is kind, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. I have been faithfully getting injections to treat my allergies for a few years now and no longer need to take any kind of OTC allergy medication. This is a 5-star practice hands down. I was very happy with the care I received today. It was my first appointment and they did all my testing at one time. I'm grateful that I didn't have to come for multiple appointments just to start treatment. In fact, I walked out with my sublingual drops today. It was a lot of money out of pocket as I have a high deductible. They were kind enough to give me a sample inhaler as well as information about getting an epi pen sent to me at little or no cost. Good healthcare isn't cheap, and I feel like I got my money's worth. Dr. Anderson had a warm bedside manner. He made great eye contact, spoke in a straightforward manner. His P.A., nurses and front desk staff were all great! I was a little worried because some of the other reviews weren't flattering. I felt well taken care of and educated when I left there. read more

So today was my first visit with Dr. Anderson. My appointment was at 1pm and I arrived at roughly 12:35pm. T staff was friendly and was I was taken back to a room around 1:05pm. I was seen by a nurse and medical student and told that Dr. Anderson "was completing a few things outside of the office" and would be back shortly. At 2:20pm, almost an hour and a half after my appointment, and having yet to see the doctor, I left the exam room and asked the front desk how much longer it would be. It was at that time that I was told that Dr. Anderson was still not in the office. It was then that I just decided to leave. To the staff's credit they were very apologetic and refunded my co-payment without hesitation, and while I understand that an emergencies happen (although, this wasn't expressed to me as an emergency, as no one knew where he was), it left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. I will not be rescheduling with this clinic. read more

Small office in what looks to be a converted house. It's right next to a hospital which can make getting here a little hectic depending on which way you're coming from. Front office staff is always so friendly and helpful, especially Sam! She always has a smile on her face. Dr. Anderson is extremely personable and looks you in the eyes when you speak to him. He makes sure to pay attention to what you're saying, which is great. If you're getting your routine allergy shots, it's a breeze and you're in and out. At a busy time you may wait 10-15 minutes. The nurse who administers the shots (I didn't catch her name) is great. She is quiet, but she comes in contact with so many people throughout the day I don't blame her. She gave my shot in the first arm and all I felt was the cold alcohol swab, I didn't even feel the shot! She does a great job, I was really impressed! There is complimentary water and coffee in the waiting room. The space is clean (a little outdated) but as long as it's clean I don't care about decor. I would recommend this office to anyone suffering from allergies, Dr. Anderson is a pleasure. read more

I came to Anderson Allergy because they're big proponents of sub-lingual allergy drops (a take-home alternative to weekly allergy shots). I didn't have a primary physician to refer me, so I just called and made an appointment, which worked out fine. They had me come in for a consultation, but it turned out that they could already to the first round of allergy tests (air-born allergies) on me right then. I came in for a second appointment, where I did the second round of allergy tests (food allergies). The results were pretty interesting, so I recommend that people without traditional allergy symptoms still do the test, which is often covered by insurance. (For example, I had no idea I was allergic to mustard, which was probably one of the more devastating results...) Since then, I've been doing the drops and nose spray as recommended and wonder why I waited so long to start treatment. I did, however, take a star off my rating because of the front desk staff. In my experience they weren't the friendliest and lacked some attention to detail. Also, I've called a few times for prescription refills and no one answered the phone. That's really a shame because the doctors and nurses were professional and patient, taking a surprising amount of time to provide general education about allergies and to explain the process of taking the drops. Overall, I recommend this office, but I hope they can work out their front desk staff. read more

The doctors here are extremely knowledgeable and the bad reviews I see sound entitled, impatient, and overly dramatic to be honest. I highly recommend. They properly diagnosed and currently treat my daughters allergic asthma when no pediatrician could help her and just kept giving her antibiotics saying she had the common cold when I knew there was more to it. They also have treated my sever allergic reactions (hives) when no other urgent care or primary could figure out how to subside them. read more

I've been going to this place for so long I forget to write about it. Dr Anderson is great. I am probably the Allergy Queen in as it's probably easier to tell what I'm not allergic to than to list the others. He took as much time as needed to figure out what was going on and started me on my no monthly shot routine. The staff is great. I had a very pleasant experience at this office! Dr Anderson was very knowledgeable and took his time with me :) He had EXCELLENT bedside manner and eye-contact (which is extremely rare with health care providers these days). Even though I filled out mountains of paperwork he STILL took the time to ask me all the questions personally (concerning my family history, past medical history, etc, and without rolling his eyes like other doctors do) The workup before the doctor was pleasant too. Kayla assisted with my vital signs as well as my breathing test and was very patient with me even though I kept coughing throughout the entire test and had to start over! Allergy testing is not pleasant no matter where you go and unfortunately people only take the time to write down something when they have something negative to say. I was referred here by a friend who works for Orlando Health. As someone who works in another medical office in the Orlando area, I found Anderson Allergy to be run very efficiently and professionally. I had been to my dermatologist twice and he was unable to diagnose me. DO NOT GO HERE!! No one has the time to sit for an hour just in the waiting room when the office isn't busy. On my first appointment, Dr. Anderson had the audacity to pull out his phone and discuss another patients issues during intake questions. Apparently my answers were not as important...as i proceeded to check out and pay my hefty $60 co-pay, another patient was yelling at the staff about her 2 hour wait. For some unknown reason, I went back to wait an hour once again. All of the staff seem pretty rude. No one has a smile on their face and everything seems extremely unorganized. read more

I was referred to Doctor Anderson after 2 allergists in Melbourne Florida could not find any allergies. I had constant headaches and constant sinus infections. The allergists in Melbourne made me feel like I was a hypochondriac. After seeing 2 different allergists in Melbounre, I went to see Dr. Dickenson, ENT. She told me I had only "1" nasal polyp and said she could remove it and make money off of me, but I may have scar tissue worse than my polyp." She was "sure I had allergies and sent me to see Dr. Anderson. She told me she had sent him many other patients that these same 2 allergists in Melbourne could not find allergies on as well and they all tested (+) for allergies in his office. " I went there and tested (+) for many trees, grass, cat hair and mold. Things I was tested for in the other two allergists office. This was 22 years ago. I would highly recommend Doctor Anderson in a heartbeat. He is gifted in what he does. read more

My family has been going to Dr. Anderson's for three years. Over the past 12 years, I have been to two other allergists in town and Anderson Allergy is my favorite. The office personnel are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. What I like --1) It's a busy office, but I still feel like I'm treated like a person. 2) Dr. Anderson is personable, knowledgeable and listens. 3) His medical support staff are the same. 4) The sub-lingual drop option is awesome. What I don't like-- 1) Allergy care is expensive. You get what you pay for here. Great care and service costs a bit more. But, after getting shots for 10 years with no end in sight, I'm happy to pay a little more by taking three drops/day. read more

My son took allergy shots here for several years. Frequently, I would get called up to the window in the waiting room and told I had a "balance due" for charges that could never be clearly explained. Instead they would give me pages of printed entries showing charges to the insurance company, deductions, payments, and charges with none of it matched by date or service. Finally, I got a receipt from them saying my account was paid in full and from that day on I paid and got a receipt every time we went in. Incredibly, a year after his last visit to the office, I got a bill from them saying we still owe $116. The explanation when I called? -- "Our billing so was so messed up, we just found this charge."!!! Like others who have written, we went because it was "convenient." Trust me, it's not worth the convenience. I haven't even written here about how we didn't see the doctor for years, only the PA, or how rude they are when you need an Epi-pen or other prescription renewed. Everything is based on pay or we won't talk to you. I heard several people humiliated in the waiting room over needing to make payments before they could be seen -- when the billing system was so inaccurate, no one had any idea what the real balances were! read more

I went to this allergist for the first time about a month ago. I had never been to an allergist before and picked this one frankly because it was the closest one to me that was "in network." So I go to my initial appointment which was fine (I really liked Stephanie the PA) and I was due to come back the next week so they would do the prick test of airbornes. So I return a week later and they pricked me with 64 of the allergens and I noticed that they all kinda looked the same after a few minutes had passed... and after the 15 minutes was up, they came in to look at it and they said they weren't impressed by what they were seeing because they all looked the same. So either I was allergic to all of them or none of them because I guess they all looked the same as the two controls that were in the batch. So they say they're going to have to test further and I said, "Right now?!" and they said yes, and they come back with like 25 needles full of serum and they make 25 marks on my arm and start injecting the needles into my arm under my skin and I had no idea what was happening. It was really painful and I was not mentally prepared for that kind of test. I started feeling funny from the pain I was feeling from the injections, that the next thing I knew I was dripping with sweat, dizzy, feeling like I was going to throw up, all at the same time. I tried to tell the nurse to stop but she just kept going, and then I fell backward. The next thing I know all these people are in the room and they're saying to get a cold cloth for my head. So the nurse practitioner came in and told me to take deep breaths, calm down, etc... and then they started injecting again. So after all that was done, they came back looked at those results and it turned out that I was most allergic to dust mites. So at that point there's the NP, the doctor, his PA, and some nurse I had never seen before in the room and they start talking about the results/options. I told them I just wanted to feel better but didn't want to be hopped up on medicine all the time, especially if this is only a seasonal thing. The doctor left and said the NP would take over, and then somehow she left pretty quickly and the next thing I knew, I felt like I was being given a sales pitch by the mystery nurse. She was asking me, "How badly do you want a better quality of life? Do you want to be carrying around your Zyrtec and Flonase for the rest of your life or do you really want to FEEL BETTER" and I said I didn't know because I don't fully understand what is going on with me?! The next thing I knew, she was going on and on about shots and basically telling me that was my ONLY option and I told her that my quality of life would suffer in a different way if I was being drained of ALL of my money to get shots! She didn't like that I said that and kept going on about the shots and I was still so dazed from fainting and overwhelmed by everything that the next thing I knew, I was making an appointment to have "rush" shots, which she explained was like combining 15 visits into one. (seemed like a good idea so I wouldn't have to be driving out there all the time) DIDN'T mention any risks, side effects, how it's really DANGEROUS or anything like that... and then tells me I need to have my epi-pen with me all the time. I said, "A what?!" And she tells me I'm crazy for not having an epi-pen! She shows me how to use it and I'm thinking... is this because of the shots that I will need this or because I am going to die from a dust allergy!? An epi-pen for a dust allergy, really? I left feeling like I had just been given a sales pitch and was backed into a corner after I had just lost consciousness on the table. Why would you try to push something on someone that had just fainted? It was absolutely horrendous. My husband called the Office Manager to complain and was sent to her voicemail and it took over a week to get a call back from her. She never once apologized for her staff's behavior (particularly "sales nurse" as I called her) and was trying to cover her own tracks throughout the whole conversation. I was appalled that we did not even receive an apology or a promise of better patient service. Since they were convinced that this was all me and that they did absolutely nothing wrong, and that EVERYONE needs an epi-pen (allergic to dust or deathly allergic to peanuts, we all need it apparently), we told them we had no trust in their ability to fulfill their oaths as doctors, nurses, etc., and that we would part ways. Awful business practice to say the absolute least. read more

I had an excellent experience. The staff as a whole was very polite, respectful and knowledgeable. The room was cold, so they brought in a space heater. While waiting for my test results I was offered a beverage. Once my test were compete the nurse went into great detail everything I needed to know. I was very impressed with my visit. read more

Terrible customer service in person and on the phone. High turnover. Disorganized staff. I left 6 voice mails in 1 week regarding my urgent prescriptions, no one ever called me back. Constant excuses for lack of communication ranging from "the fax machine was broken, the computer is down, etc." Nurse failed to add my prior Anaphylactic reactions to my patient chart leading the doctor and staff to mistreat my allergies resulting in a second Anaphylactic reaction. All that being said, Dr. Anderson is an excellent and caring physician. However, his staff and lack of internal controls leaves me with no choice but to switch to another Allergist. read more

I have been a patient at Anderson Allergy and Asthma for years and have been seeing a lot of changes in the past year. I think the change in front office is for the better, the new girls at check in are always so nice to my husband and I. About a month ago they brought on a new office manager named Ron, and after coming in today I learned no longer is he there. I hate to say but I am incredibly happy about that decision Dr Anderson made. It is for the better. Bad attitudes reflect on the practice. I have been going to Anderson Asthma and Allergy since 2008, I just changed off them to a new allergist. I have had it with them! Over the course of the past 6 years, I have seen them go from pretty good to downright awful, it's very disappointing. As the other reviews have said, the office staff is rude and there seems to be a high turnover. Every time I go in for my shots or appointments there are always new people and they don't seems to know what they are doing. I am convinced they are trying to rip patients off as well, or their billing situation is in shambles. Specific examples; 1. A number of times they have tried charging me for my allergy shots, when I know they are covered 100% by my insurance 2. They called me up to the desk telling me I owed a balance, when I asked for what? The receptionist had to go looking in the computer and finally said it was for a breathing test I had done, my reply was, I haven't done a breathing test recently. Then she informed me it was from a breathing test I did April 2012, at that time it was December 2013. When I asked, why now am I being charged 1 year and 8 months later, she could not give me an explanation, just that I owed money. 3. Recently, when I was in there, and again told I have a balance, I had to ask for what, because they never tell you, (not to mention, they appear annoyed they have to look up what the charges are for) again it was for a breathing test, which I was expecting, and I paid for, the following week when I went in again, they told me I owed money, when asked for what?, it was for the same breathing test I paid for last week, which I told them I already paid for that. I asked why they don't update their system to reflect updated payments? For that I got no answer, just that they see I did pay for it already. 4. The straw that broke the camels back for me was when I needed to refill my sublingual drops, I was told in an abrupt manner, they will not fill them unless I pay first. I explained to them, I have been coming there for a long time and when I legitimately owe money, I always play, and I did not feel comfortable paying $186 and walking out empty handed. Again, very abruptly was told, they will not be made unless I first pay! I could go on and on with more of their billing issues but I think you get the point. As for Dr. Anderson, he seemed good in the beginning, but he also has become disappointing. The last 4 appointments I've had, I haven't seen him, it's been a PA or ARNP. I also think he doesn't care anymore. During an appointment I had some time ago, after waiting in the exam room for an extended period of time, he came in finally and we were talking, out of the blue he noticed a scale on the floor and then stood on it, and made some comment about how he has eaten too much. That stopped the conversion, and I felt like I was wasting my time, because he was obviously not listening to what I was saying. Honestly, I feel like I have been wasting my time for awhile now. I didn't want to go through the trouble of starting over with a new allergist. Enough is enough and I am so glad I will not be going back there anymore...good reddens! read more

I just checked the reviews of this place and they have a bad rep! I went prior to reading this after several friends recommended them highly. I personally had a great experience. The wait was very reasonable on my visit, I waited about 15 minutes in the front waiting room after filling out my paperwork (i suggest filling it out pta, esp if you have a child with you). I waited for about 10 minutes in the exam room for the NP Erin. The intake nurse was very nice, and very thorough. The only down fall is my son has a complex allergy case and I was scheduled with the Nurse Prac without being told, I expected to see the MD BUT she was excellent! I am also a mid level provider, and very critical of the medical care that my son gets, and with that being said I would see Erin again anytime. She took her time, listened to everything I have been going through with my 3 year old and his symptoms, she accurately reviewed his prior allergy test and came up with an excellent management plan. I rescheduled allergy testing with her next week. She was very knowledgeable, practiced evidence based medicine, and was also very caring and understanding. I look forward to seeing her again and also meeting her attending physician. read more
