We came around 3:30 on a Monday so I'm sure depending on the day that could change. Nice golf carts here. The greens were in really good conditions compared to many places around. They could've been a little better, but I don't blame the course for things other golfers do or don't do. Great views and good parking lot as well.

The course was in very good shape except the bunkers were pretty wet and packed down. The greens and fairways were nicely manicured and you can tell they are trying to keep this place maintained. I wish the kitchen were open the day we played (Friday late morning) since it would have been nice to get a burger or hotdog at the turn. Overall though, I enjoyed the day at Deer Park and was satisfied with the conditions.

We were about 30 minutes into our hike, when we started to hear gunshots. Well unbeknownst to us, we didn't know it was a gun range in the area. We sorta tried to just tune out those sounds and just get more into our hike. Saw several different species of birds. Then we finally saw an eagle . That was really cool! We met some friendly faces along the trail too! Plan to go back before winter sets in and see the two remaining buffalo . We heard that there was a recent loss. Hope they can introduce more buffalo to the park.

This way, we didn't have to transport any canoes. They took care of that. We made a 10 AM reservation, which gave us time to drive there and stop for breakfast. We were taken on a school bus with just one other family who was also renting canoes. They drove us to the starting point and we canoed back to Ayers. It was simply a beautiful trip! We saw deer, herons, turtles and lots of geese. The rocks on the sides of the river are amazing. There is a picnic area with bathrooms half-way through with bathrooms and then we canoed the rest of the way to Ayers. The only issue we had, was a small leak in the canoe. It wasn't a bid deal, but we did bail waiter one time.

However the staff was not at all friendly. We came in with two kids, a two year old and infant. Obviously the infant wasn't bowling. We were told that the bumpers would not be put up for our two year old. Once we got setup, the owner came in telling us to keep the kids under control (assuming we didn't know how to watch the kids). Then preceded to tell us we had to sign a waiver for the kids to bowl. After the hassle of that part of the family ended up having to leave with the kids. The facility is the only reason for the two stars. It would be 0 stars for the staff and the way they treated our family.
