Fabulous Management team! I've lived here for three and a half years, only thing I wish they got was all front loaders in the laundry rooms. BUT they have plenty of washers/dryers I'm just wishing! They've always responded back to emails and they always care about their residents! Maintenance guys are super cool and accommodating. I barely put in a work order and majority of the time, it's done the same day but never more than a couple days max! Office gals like to mix it up with gatherings for our Anderson Place Community! They like to have good times, food, prizes, and a lot of other creative activities throughout the year! Nobody's left out even when they have certain food for college events, like midterms and finals, everyone is still welcome! read more

I loved it the first year I moved in, and hated the second year here. I have never experienced that many power outage in my life. We already experienced 3 power outages this year (1/2021 - 7/2021), and power outage always come with no hot water to use as well. I've been living here for 2 years and power already went out 6 times, I have spent so much extra money to live in a hotel. I don't know what's wrong with this place, but if you look at power outage map in Davis, this apartment is always the area that's effected, and all other places in Davis always have power. This place is also the very last area PG&E will fix the power, so don't be surprised if you need to live in a hotel 1-3 days. ( It happened during midterm weeks twice). There are cockroaches everywhere. If you go out at night, look at the ground and bushes, the cockroaches are crawling and running around. Very gross as I walk my pet at night and I just can't stand cockroaches running around by my pet's paws. Some cockroaches even climb up the stair to second floor, and it crawled in to the apartment unit from the small gap underneath the door. They mow the grass almost every day. Enjoy being woken up by the loud sound of grass mowing. I really want a peaceful nap, but they start from early morning and stop mow at around 5 pm. Good luck with working or studying during the day time, you won't be able to hear anything. Ps. While I was writing this, just got an email from Anderson again saying we're out of hot water AGAIN. This is probably the 100th this has happened, plus our laundry room has been out of service for 2 days already. Sometimes they will send out emails saying they will cut the water off at 9 am in the morning, and guess what, my water went out while I was showing at 8:30 am :))) this has happened twice:)) I agree the location is good, they have great trees and grass, the office respond quickly to email, but there are still a lot that needed to be improved. 1 star for responsive staff 1 star for nice neighbors I know the workers here probably don't have control on some of the things I mentioned, but it has been 2 years with no improvement, I think upper management needs to look into the issue and not just assume college students have no choice but to find a place to stay, that they can just come and go every year, so no long term commitment on maintaining the community is needed. This is not a good mindset, not fair for us who loved living here too. read more

We are the parents of a UC Davis student who has lived at Anderson Place since Sept 2018. This was our daughter's first apartment so we were heavily involved in the search, lease process, move in and basic living issues that came up her first year at Anderson Place. We dealt with Gillian and absolutely love her! She is professional, empathetic and a wonderful manager. She inspired the confidence we needed to relax and take the training wheels off to let our daughter manage things on her own. The move-in process was great. We had thought we might need to clean the place, but it was spotless. During the move, we accidentally lifted a box too high and it tweaked a ceiling fan blade. The maintenance guys came right over and fixed it with no charge. They have had other small issues and maintenance is incredibly friendly, responsive and competent. No bugs or rodents in the units (which are beautiful, btw). Just today, our daughter had a serious problem with her roommate and called Gillian for advice on how to handle it. Again, she was professional, empathetic and fair to both parties. Gillian's interaction with our daughter and our satisfaction with the overall experience inspired me to write the review. Our daughter has not moved out and she doesn't want to. But if/when she does, we know that Gillian and her team will treat them fairly. I have no doubt that if they get docked on the deposit, they will deserve it. I can't believe the negative reviews on here. They are full of typos and come across as immature. It's not hard to imagine that a person who misspells words might also miss grease on the stove or dirt in the shower when cleaning their unit. Based on our experience, unfair treatment would be completely out of character. Perhaps the negative reviews say more about the reviewers than Anderson Place. read more

Had the worst experience in this apartment!!Staff seems nice at first but move-out cleaning and repair policies are horrendous. I have been charged over $400 after cleaning the whole apartment for 3 straight days. The manager, Gillian, was horrible at handling the situation. She refused to show any proofs even though she said she had pictures of the apartment after the move-out. Go somewhere else!! read more

Best place to live! The staff is friendly and very professional. There's great communication between the staff and renters. The unit was spotless and the area is safe. I'd still be living here if I didn't move across the country. After reading other reviews I'd like to add I cleaned my apartment before I vacated and all of my deposit was returned because the place was as spotless as the day I moved in 2.5 years prior. read more

Anderson Place has been a great fit for my new college student. The location is super convenient near a grocery store and the J/G bus line straight to campus. Inside the apartment, it's cozy, quiet and all appliances are updated. But the best part of Anderson Place is the management. Danielle, Selena and Arianna, who work onsite, are spectacular! They are very caring, kind, attentive and quick to respond to any concerns. Knowing that my college student has their support should any apartment issues arise sure helps ease a parent's concerns. read more

I have never lived in a better apartment complex, ever. All of the staff is beyond friendly, and genuinely care about their residents' quality of life. On top of that, the apartments themselves are absolutely beautiful. I never ran into any major problems with the rooms, but every minor issue was fixed swiftly and efficiently. The staff hosts occasional events for the residents, which foster a great sense of community (and have great food!). I honestly can't say that there was anything Anderson Place could have done better during the two years that I lived there. read more

This place has a cockroach infestation. I did everything I could do, including taking out the trash after every single use, and keeping the place spotless. I later found out after months and months of working with an exterminator that my neighbor also has the same issue, and the neighbor about 5 units over had the same issue too. Basically, as long as all the other units have an issue, I couldn't keep them out of mine. Walking from my car to my apartment at night, I'd see at least a half dozen crawling on the pathways. Very unfortunate, because the staff was nice and the units are otherwise nice. read more

I have now lived here for six months and I like it very much. Here is some of the best and worst things: Pros: - nicely renovated with high quality kitchen appliances and stone counter tops. - friendly staff and good maintenance - parking space always available - calm and quiet - nice pool and gym that are usually clean and working - good location, close to greenbelt, bus lines, Anderson plaza and a short bike ride to town and UCD. Cons: - no balcony/patio. - the laundry machines and dryers are a bit old and dirty, they don't always clean very good. - squeaky floors in the above apartment. read more

I'm currently 6 months into my lease, and I could not be more happy with my decision to choose this place to spend my first year in Davis and hopefully more to come as well. 1. The apartments are beautiful. 2. The staff is AMAZING. If I've ever had a problem in my apartment, they've always been so quick to take care of it. Everyone is so kind, and will greet you with genuine concern when you have a problem. They really try to make your time here as easy and comfy as possible. 3. There's lots and lots of parking. 4. Did I say the staff is excellent and on top of their business? 5. The complex itself is pretty quiet so if you're trying to study late at night, you won't be bothered. 6. I lived here for 6 months when I was a student at UC Davis. It was my third apartment unit @ Davis and the management team was the best I've had, to this day. They completely changed my previous belief about Davis housing. I was pretty weary of all the issues with rental properties in that town and thought all apartment complexes @ Davis sucked because nobody cares about the students. There is always demand for housing in town and why would anyone bother to provide timely maint service and etc. Anderson Place is an older property, it has gone through rennovation but the buildings are still built in the 70s. I did have issues but it never took more than half a day for the maint to take care of the service request. The neighborhood/location is quiet and peaceful, perfect for living and studying. They also refunded 100% of my deposit when I moved out. read more

I have lived here for over a year now and it's been such a great experience. The office and maintenance staff are awesome. Whenever we have an issue it is addressed immediately and in an appropriate fashion. I don't even know where to start, but if you're looking for a place to live and care about quality, LIVE HERE!!! Rent is a little pricey, but hear me out before you decide on anything. AMENITIES: -There is an amazing pool and it is VERY well kept. I utilize that pool a lot. They maintain it daily and it's so fresh and clean. It's a great way to relax at the end of a long day or even a study break during a hot summer afternoon. -There is also a hot tub if you want to sink in and just relax. -They provide a small space to work out. It has a few equipment that is great for working out. They even have running, cycling, and lifting. There is a water dispenser, which I totally love wiggling my way in at night to refill my water bottle, because you know how much we hate that Davis water, yum, minerals. Lol. -They have a great study area for residents. So if your roommates are mucking about and you need a place to study in peace, they've got the place for you. It's ventilated and there are bathrooms too (= -They've got a play area for kids too! They have slides and all the things to bring your childhood dreams to life. Or if you just want to be a kid for a couple of hours... or if you have kids, haha. -As if that wasn't enough, during open hours they provide coffee for you!!! Come by the lounge area (which is open only during open hours), or the front office and they provide delicious treats and complimentary coffee. UNITS: The units are nice. They offer a maximum of a two bedroom unit, but they also have studios and single-room units. They have GRANITE COUNTERTOPS!!! I can't get over the fact that these counters are gorgeous. The kitchen is spacious and you'll love the detail and earthy colors of the place. Get in touch with your inner nature! Lol. But yes, the units are nice. They provide heating and AC. The only thing I'd have to say about that is that it doesn't run throughout the unit. It's more of a box that provides it for the living room and the master bedroom. If you live in a two bedroom unit the smaller unit does not have the contraption for the heating and AC. The complex itself is very well kept, and I believe they mow the lawn every Tuesday, which some people (students) complain a lot because of the noise. But, I believe with every apartment, lawn-work is always done, so there's nothing you can do about it. Plus, they clean and keep it cut for our own benefit so it is clean and fresh for residents. I, personally, don't mind it. STAFF: Now this is the most important of all, because, who wants to live somewhere where you don't feel respected or heard? I can tell you, this place has the MOST friendliest and amazing of staff. They literally go out of their way for you. Countless times my laptop was not compatible with the printer, and they immediately solved all my problems. They are on point with replies. Check out this yelp for example, they even respond with the kindest of manners with unhappy residents. Most places don't even care to respond, but they do. One example I love to use is that, I'm a senior graduating from college. I don't know much and I struggle a lot with adult things, lol, but they went out of their way and helped. All you have to do is open up to them and communicate. Help them, help you. I was so nervous about my resume and interviews, and even though it's not what they specialized in, they did their best. The entire staff helped me edit my resume and they even helped me with my interviews, by taking some time from their busy day to help me with a mock interview. Debbie, Kieran, and Gillian... you guys are the best! Every day I'm grateful and happy I chose to live here. So yeah, I'm graduating and I could have lived anywhere else CHEAPER, but I CHOSE NOT TO, because where am I going to find the same group of people that care so much? I rather live somewhere where I pay a bit extra, but I get a lot back from their warm smiles and loving care. If you ever run into: Debbie -- This woman is a saint. She will respond to your e-mails and take care of your needs. I am guilty of e-mailing her WAY too much, with the most idiotic questions, but she's patient, kind, and caring. If you ever meet her you'll understand. Gillian -- Although I have not interacted with her a lot, I know she's the face behind all the hard work, as the rest of the staff. She responds to yelp reviews and is wonderful with handling difficult situations. She's kind and is always diligent to responding to e-mails as well. Kieran -- He's new to the team, but he's so kind. I was so anxious and nervous with my interview, and asked him for help since he helped me edit my resume, and he went out of his way to set up a mock interview for me. The complex is so diverse. It doesn't matter if you're a college student, wanting to raise a family, a senior citizen, or even fresh out of college. This place caters to all. You'll be making the best decision of your life. My wife and I lived at Anderson Place for about half a year. We loved it, there. Management is friendly and responsive. The grounds are kept clean--landscaping is always kept up, the pool and spa are always clean, and all other facilities (laundry room, gym, café, study room) are tidy and clean. My wife and I never had problems with neighbors or noise. The grounds are big, and we held a couple barbecues with family at the built-in barbecue stands and tables. The location is great, too--there's a grocery store and restaurants across the street to one side, and then a great park one block over on the other side. We left to be closer to our jobs, and my wife was very sad to leave this perfect little place. read more

I lived her for 2 years (2014-2016) and really liked it but I have to be honest. I lived in 2 different studio apartments and had mice problems both times. Management was always responsive but acted surprised. I have a hard time thinking it was me as I am a very clean person. Then the cockroaches came because it was summer and its an ag town. I moved in temporarily about a year ago, and I have had a very unpleasant time. I do not recommend living here. Not only is there ALWAYS some type of construction going on to wake you up in the morning, but it seems as if they are constantly mowing the grass and leaf-blowing. Almost never get to sleep in. Also the staff is kind of unfriendly, they are always riding around on their golf carts running people off the sidewalk. Every time its like they expect me and everyone else to go completely out of their way so they can get threw and stand and chat by the laundry room, even with my children. They also dont keep an eye on the gym. People bring their children in who are only about 6-8 years old and let them take up all the equipment even though there is a sign that says nobody 13 and under using machines. The pool is nice but last time i went, I was relaxing at about 2pm and I guess some ladies were taking pictures of the pool for what I'm guessing is the website. They awkwardly took pictures of everywhere i wasn't, and then sat there waiting for me to leave. I felt very uncomfortable and rushed on my day off. The walls are also paper thin here, so dont expect a lot of privacy.. Also I got a parking permit but I guess the staff didnt look close enough, and they almost towed my car, and when I talked to one of the maintenance workers trying to clear up that I have one and to leave my car alone, he was extremely rude and ill tempered about it. This place was not worth the incredibly overpriced rent. You will live cheaper in sacramento or woodland. read more
