I have used Anderson Plumbing twice since buying my first home. The first visit I needed a new hose bib in the back of my house. The plumber used shark bite style connectors, but didn't secure it to the structure of the house so it slopped around. The next call was to repair an upstairs shower drain. Two men showed up. I had already cut a small section of the ceiling below to assess what happened. The used a Wingtite Shower Drain Replacement, which installs entirely from the top. The older of the two then said there wasn't enough room to build a p-trap. He said he could do 1" pipe and it would fit between the floors. When he finished the p-trap was completely below the plane of the ceilings drywall. I told him this was unacceptable. He rebuilt it, but we still had to shave a significant amount of drywall from the ceiling patch. I would NOT recommend Anderson Plumbing read more

We have unfortunately had to call Anderson plumbing to correct issues with our new home constructed 3 years ago. They have always responded quickly and have someone out within a day or two. This latest call was concerning our sump pump and that ie was running continuously but it was intermittent - Norbert came out the next day, and spent a considerable amount of time diagnosing the issue and getting it replicate the problem. He was not only able to fix it simply, he correct another issue (loud pump operation) by thoroughly cleaning the sump pit- he saved is considerable money and frustration. Highly recommend Anderson. May cost more on first view, but well worth the service call fee. read more

Called on Monday afternoon to say I could hear a dripping sound in the bathroom above a crawl space. I was not needing emergency service. We set up a service call to be done on Tuesday. Jimmy and Andre came Tuesday ready to get to work to locate the leak. Jimmy went into the crawl space to check if it was a waterline leaking under the house. Unfortunately it was not. They determined it was coming to from the valve area of the shower stall. They cut a hole in the drywall on the wall from the water closet to access the leak. It was a weakened elbow joint. They replaced the section with new copper tubing and Push to Connect Brass Coupling Fitting. They completed the job quickly. Their inspection showed the subfloor was saturated and suggested we have another company come out to get it dry and to kill off the green mold that was starting to grow. We had a water heater failure. Our water heater was located in a very tight space in our laundry room. We contacted Anderson, sent photos, and received an estimate. Justin came out the following day to replace the water heater and did a fine job, even while working around the nearby furnace, washer, and dryer. Well, I had a pipe disintegrate in a wall behind my upstairs bathroom sink. I went to my basement and found a puddle (small lake) of water on my utility room floor. When I looked up, I knew I was in trouble. It was Sunday evening and chances of finding anyone to help, I felt, was next to none. After calling and leaving messages at several places, I reached Caleb with Anderson Plumbing. Caleb came to my home promptly and worked diligently to fix my problem. I've never met a nicer more conscientious young man as he. He really cared!!! Problem fixed!!!!! The next day, I heard from one other place at 4 pm. no one else even responded. I recently needed a toilet replaced and decided to use Anderson Plumbing after receiving price estimates (over the phone). Anderson wasn't the cheapest but since I had done prior business with them and was satisfied I decided to select them again. I was told the price for the job would be $140, which included $125/hr for labor and $15 for gasoline payment. Plus, the job would start 15 minutes prior to arrival; once the plumber called your phone, 8:26 in my case. Upon arrival, at 8:40, Norbert took 45 minutes to install my "All-in-one" toilet. After finishing at 9:25, he told me that now, he needed to go to his van to prepare an invoice. When he returned at 9:35, I was told to pay $225 dollars, significantly more than $140. I was charged $23 for parts, which he decided were superior to the parts included with the toilet kit. Then, he told me that I was being charged $55 dollars additional since he took 10 minutes to write the invoice!!! So, at Andersen Plumbing they make the customer pay for their commute, gasoline, and the time it takes to write an invoice. I have never seen such pricing tactics in any business in my entire life. I will adjust this rating if/when I receive a satisfactory response. Edit: I spoke with the Office manager who told me they'd remove the $55 charge. Anderson Plumbing has done three jobs for me at our house over the past 18 mos. Two leaks and some renovation plumbing upgrades. There service and timeliness is much appreciated. The ladies running the phones and appointments are great as well. They are expensive but they do a great job and have no heaitation to call them. read more

Gilbert could make a career teaching other professionals how to properly run a business. He puts any other plumber I have ever dealt with around town (several) to shame in all respects. Anderson Plumbing answers their phone, responds quickly to messages, shows up on time, works quickly and efficiently and they want to make sure your problem is fixed at a minimum cost. He even goes so far as to teach you how to properly maintain your equipment and offers to answer any questions over the phone about anything related to their work or not.. As long as Anderson Plumbing is in business I will never call anyone else. read more

On Sunday I had a toilet that started to leak, so I turned off the water supply and first thing Monday morning called Anderson Plumbing. We set up an appointment for Tuesday, but Stan said they might be able to do the work the same day (Monday) At 2 p.m. they called and said they were on the way. Two hours later I had a new toilet, completely installed. All went very well, from beginning to end. I opted for the new toilet vs. trying to repair the old one. I mean, how many times can you call that morning and get same day service? They have my business and always will. (and they are big fans of Purdue football!) read more

Just short of a year ago they installed a sink, garbage disposal and dish washer. The warranty for workmanship is one year. Four days before the warranty ended, the p trap under the sink blew off flooding my cabinet and floor. Plumber came next day and simply put the p trap that came off back in place, ran some water and charged me $145. 7 months later, yep, the p trap came off again. They will come in one week and I will be charged for the service call. Not this time, I called another plumbing company who came next day. They showed me how the connection was done incorrectly, not glued together and PUT ON BACKWARDS at the wrong angle. When they installed the new sink and disposal, it was now too low. Instead of cutting pipes to fit the new angle, they just put the old pipes back on - incorrectly and unattached. Thank goodness I called in a qualified plumber who knows what he is doing who replaced all the pipes and fixed the high loop on the dishwasher which was not done by Anderson for $125. read more

Contracted them to install gas line for a new stove. They arrived on time for the estimate, provided a written estimate within 60 minutes, confirmed appointment for work and showed up on time to do the work! When the work was done they cleaned everything up. When I started to pay them for the job, they told me the estimate was high and reduced the bill by ~10% since the job was easier than expected! I would not hesitate to recommend them to others. read more

We recently bought a house that was built in 1868, which makes for some interesting plumbing issues. We had Anderson out to replace old, rusting galvanized pipe going to the bathroom on the 2nd floor. Gilbert came out and gave us an estimate, then schedule the work for a few weeks later (this was a big job). The estimate was very reasonable for the amount of work being done, and the final cost was very close to the estimate. Two guys were here for a day and a half for the job. They were friendly (to me and my cats), professional, and did quality work. Throughout the job they called me up to show me what they were doing, how it was going, etc. so I never felt in the dark about what was happening. Once they got the wall open, they found my sewer vent was completely rusted through and made it a priority to get back out just a few days later to replace that pipe. They were honest about the work that did and did not need done. Additionally they were very thorough in cleaning up after the job, even just for the night between the two days they were here. I also appreciate that throughout the process everyone I interacted with at Anderson was happy to talk to me about the job and work, rather than my husband. We needed our tub taken out of our bathroom and a new shower put in. I called them and Gilbert came out and gave me a quote. I called the next day to make an appointment to have it done. There were two men and they were both very nice. They laid down plastic along their walkway to the bathroom and back to the front door. They ran into a few problems and it took longer than what Gilbert thought it would but they got the job done and it turned out great plus the price that was quoted is what I paid. Anderson Plbg recently did work at the home next to mine where we share adjacent kitchen walls. Shortly after that when I washed my hair in my kitchen sink, I found the shampoo water was in my dishwasher. Ick! I called Anderson because this only occurred after they were here and thought it may have something to do with the shared plumbing juncture, which they agreed was a possibility. When I called they scheduled me for a 2 hr window on a Friday. 5 minutes before that window was up they had to call to reschedule, which we did for the following Monday. 10 minutes before that was up they arrived. They were here approx. 15 minutes, ran water in my kitchen sink 3 times and could find no problem. And then they charged me $125!! $125 to run water in my sink and find no problem. While they were courteous and informative, that was not a $125 visit. For Anderson, however, that is their minimum. I would never have called them had I not thought the problem was related to the neighbor's visit. And their base fee to come out, since it is so high, should always be stated when making an appt. I have worked with another plumber here in Lafayette at my previous residences and double-checked with them to make sure I was not wrong about my surprise. Their minimum is $59. A far cry from $125!! Also, I was unprepared for such a ridiculous fee and was going to use my credit card, however, Anderson charges an additional 4% fee for that!! I had no choice but to write a check. Nothing like a bombshell for a senior on a fixed income. Never, ever would I call Anderson again. Price-wise, they are far too high! read more
