Every now and again we need to board our fur baby. They always take such good care of Natalie and though she is unhappy to be left there, she always returns healthy and happy and well cared for. I have taken two chickens and a turtle all of which have passed. they don't try to understand what is wrong with your pet. they prescribe an antibiotic and say come back in two weeks. I took one of my chickens to them with an insanely large belly asking what was wrong and he said "that's really weird I don't know whats wrong" so disappointing. I had a ball python who developed a respiratory infection. I got medication to help her recover, and after three visits and about $600, she still hadn't improved. On the next visit, I saw a younger vet who prescribed a different antibiotic than what the older vet had been giving her. The new medication worked incredibly well; after the first dose, she was almost back to normal. She went from barely moving and breathing through her mouth to being curious and active again, with her mouth closed. Unfortunately, she got sick again due to me being misled about her care. When I brought her back, I ended up with the older vet. I explained how effective the previous medication was, but he decided to try something else instead. He told me to return in a few weeks, but the new medication didn't work at all. I repeatedly voiced my concerns and asked for the original medication, but he wouldn't listen. Despite spending over $1,500 on treatments that didn't work, her condition worsened. One day, she stopped moving entirely and seemed near death, though she was still breathing slightly. I called the older vet for advice, and he told me to increase the heat a little, assuring me she'd be fine. I followed his instructions, but she only deteriorated further. Desperate, I took her to a different vet, but she passed away on the way there. I'm deeply disappointed by the older vet's unwillingness to listen to my concerns or prescribe the medication that had previously worked so well. Gary Andes is the most cruel and inhumane veterinarian I've ever had the displeasure to meet. I hadvto have my beloved 19 year old cat Trouble put to sleep last Monday. Andes said they use an overdose of anesthesia. I don't know anything about this but previous experiences at IRAH when I had to have pets put to sleep before it was a very calm and peaceful event in which my pets just drifted away. Not for my poor Trouble! Andes gave a nod and the tech put her hands on Trouble's head and neck and forcefully held him down as Andes immediately injected his overdose so quickly I didn't have time to say anything. Trouble immediately tried to jump up and run away, get away and all i could do was try to comfort him. It was absolutely horrible! My beloved Trouble's last moments on this earth were filled with excruciating pain and terror! He was tortured to death by the severity of the pain and the terror it caused him! It was absolutely horrific, brutal and traumatic. I couldn't believe that someone who is supposed to care for animals could treat one so cruelly and inhumanely in its final moments! The man is some kind of monster! As soon as he injected his overdose he stepped back far enough to watch the whole thing! I hope the Good Lord has a special place for people like him where the animals he tortured in the final moments get to pay him back! And I hope He sees fir to punish severely in this life for his extreme cruelty to animals. read more

UPDATE!!!!! READ THESE REVIEWS PEOPLE! My snake is also dead now after a shot of supposedly "pain meds" from Andes! So many animals have died after being treated here! One poor dog died from just being boarded. Animals are being left in their own filth! First of all, this review is solely based on Andes, the exotic pets Vet. This man has no compassion for animals! My snake was bit by a rat and needed "surgery" to open the clot and clean out whatever was blocking blood flow to my snakes tail. When I picked my girl up later that day, the young man brought her to me in her carrier. I opened the carrier to find her laying in a pool of blood. Andes was gone by then but I talked to Nicole and she tried to convince me this was all normal. I was told to soak her incision site in betadine every evening. The week went well. She allowed me to keep her clean, no problem. I went back the following Friday for a check up and Andes all but yelled at me for not keeping her incision OPEN ( I was not told this ). Anyway, he pulls out a hemostat and starts tearing open her half closed incision! He didn't even clean the hemostat. They wanted me to clean her every night, yet he sticks an uncleaned stat through her incision. I said WAIT! You need to give her something for pain and I swear to the good Lord above, that man said no, that he would give her antibiotics. He said no in a way like he was punishing me for not sticking a tool inside her unmedicated body every night! What was the 500.00 for that I gave you the previous week, Dr Andes????? I don't like calling him a Dr because "do no harm" was not in his mindset! I demanded pain meds for her and he finally did but by then it was too late, he had already layed her open again! I will never take any of my pets here again and apparently after reading other reviews, my pet was not the only one mis treated by this man. Good vet. Disappointing how multiple times I have an appointment and it's 20+ minutes later till we actually get to go back in our room. Todays was 45 minutes of waiting for only a vaccination. 1 other person in the waiting area and I saw only 1 come out of a room so it wasn't busy. I really hope they work on this as my time is important and something tells me they would be irritated if I came in 45 minutes later for an appointment. read more

Never Again. From start to finish this place is horrible. We booked an appointment after being told that it would cost $20-30 to have the nails and beak trimmed on our exotic Parrot. Sitting in the waiting room we heard sounds of dogs growling and snapping at each other in the back room. When I went back to the examination room I looked around and the wood perch they used to sit your bird on was covered with droppings. No real attempt to clean anything so would expect that if an animal came in with a transmittable illness it would spread to your animal. When the Vet came in he let in his dog who immediately went to attack our bird. The next few min was mayhem between the vet assistant and myself to keep his dog off our parrot. The vet just sat back like a fool and did nothing except to say the dog would not harm the bird even as it was trying to attack it. Our bird got overly stressed from this as you can imagine. We finally were able to get the dog out of the room and I had to shut the sliding door as the vet would not close it and the animal was still trying to get its head and shoulders through the door. We were able to get the feet and beak trimmed after this. On the way out we were overcharged as the story changed and it was $40 now . The vet staff was ok the problem was with the vet itself and the upkeep of the facilities. read more

I take my cats to them. they might be a little more expensive but they always take great care of my cats. They even take the time to call me about my sick cat and let me know how she is doing. I am very pleased and great full for the care they give my animals. read more

This vet does not care about nothing but your money!!!! My baby was dying ,all they cared about was me paying them 500,which is crazy in the 1st place.all i did was walk thru the door and blood test,x ray.which they should have not done,cause blood test showed up kidney failure,which means she was dying.the doc was mice.but holly was very rude!!! If it was possible to write this review with giving 0 stars, I would. The receptionists barely recognised we were standing there when we showed up for an emergency visit after our rabbit ate a poisonous plant even though i called ahead. Also, the lady helping us smelt like cigarette smoke. After getting taken back, Greg Andes allowed a 3 legged dog into our room and was jumping around trying to get our rabbit and he didn't try to stop it. He also told us the plant she ate wasn't poisonous when it is. He then proceeded to look at her for less than 60 secs and tell us he can't do anything and charged us $65 for nothing. No wonder there's a Lexus and a Mercedes in his staff lot, Greg Andes is a con-man and I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to them, for their pet. Also, i included a picture that shows the plant is poisonous after he told us it wasn't. Our rabbit is now at All-Tails Vet where she is receiving fluids and vitamins for treatment and they were shocked that Greg Andes said there was nothing he could do. Overall, 0/10 stars read more

I brought my puppy here today to get her first round of shots. She was super nervous and scared, but thankfully the vet who helped her out was so kind, patient, and caring! I believe her name was Rebecca. She was so sweet, answered all of my questions, and just made me & my girl feel so comfortable! So thankful for Rebecca, she was absolutely amazing, and I can't wait to bring my dogs back to see her again!! read more

Hands down the Best Veterinary Hospital in the area. Dr. Gary Andes is my humble opinion World Class. The boarding there is awesome as well.

I took my German Shepherd today to have his nails clipped. They needed to sedate him to clip the nails and also look in his mouth for a possible teeth cleaning in the future. He has a bite history before being rescued but has had no issue since, and never had issue at the vet. That being said, I still prefer he would be sedated for the safety of the staff. I know it gets more expensive with sedation than your average nail clipping and examination. I was estimated the day of 135$ I picked him up to find I owed 400$. They did also send him home with a dewormer to give him. So all in all, his nails a trimmed his mouth was looked at and he got a wormer for 400$. Obviously I paid because I'm not going to steal services but they definitely screwed me over. I waited 45 min even though I made an appointment. The staff was friendly, obviously this isn't their fault. I wouldn't not recommend this place at all. I will never be back. read more

Both Dr. Andes and Dr. Bailey have been wonderful to me and my pets. The staff are all kind and considerate as well. In March of this year Dr. Bailey helped me make the unfortunate decision of putting my 3 year old cat down, she was considerate and professional.. giving us all the time we needed to make the best decision. After the loss of my cat, Dr. Bailey was nice enough to accommodate my freak out and see the rest of my cats the next week to calm my fears that they were sick as well. I suspected that my youngest dog may have accidentally became pregnant (negligence on my part) and took her to Dr. Andes. Dr. Andes confirmed that she was pregnant and advised that a spay would be our best option.. though if we wanted to keep the puppies he would do his best. He went ahead and scheduled her spay while we made our decision so that he could get her in that day if we decided to go for it. We ended up having her spayed and she is recovering just fine. Travis is an exceptional staff member. He has been scratched by a number of my cats and was always nice and professional about it. After my dogs spay he allowed us to sit in the kennel with her basically the rest of the day and was very courteous about it. read more

I would not recommend this vet at all. I should have switched to another place when they messed up my puppy's vaccines. And when I say mess-I mean an absolute total mess...they had NO clue what vaccines they had given her and she had to have some twice. I chalked to up to human mistakes that we all make and let it go. However throughout the ordeal, I found the staff to be rude. We all make mistakes, but to run a business and not apologize for mistakes is unacceptable. They also prescribed a certain food for my dog but require that the food is purchased through them and will not give out the prescription so we can order through petmeds.com. At that point I knew something wasn't right. I worked at a vet several years ago and we always gave the prescriptions to the pet parents so they could order wherever they pleased. There are so many vet clinics in the area, so I highly recommend not wasting your time with this one and go to a competent, professional veterinarian with competent, professional staff. read more

I am not usually one that gets mad and upset over professional services but I recently brought my miniature schnauzer to the groomer to be groomed and because of past experiences she will not let anyone groom her without being sedated. I was highly recommended to Andes and Straley in the past I have nothing but great things to say about their service but I had to work the day she had her appointment and my son brought her, he said that the receptionist made him believe that he was a bad person if he did not agree to the bloodwork and showed him what he thought was going to be the price which was about 30.00 more but indeed was about 5 times that much . My other son came to pick her up and when he questioned the price was told that they had spoke to me and that it was ok . He went ahead and paid and when I realized what I was charged I called and questioned it and was hung upon several times came to the vet in person and pretty much was told that was too bad by the manager. I had already had bloodwork done on my pet about 3 weeks before because she had surgery did not need more. Will never bring my pet here again even though I like the groomers. read more

I'm usually pretty mild-mannered when it comes to confrontation with businesses and professional services. However, the quality (or lack thereof) of service I just received from Andes Straley "Luxury Pet Grooming" was pathetic and appalling. Poor Elvis, my sweet precious diva baby, looks like a practice puppy at the grooming school for the blind. His tail wasn't touched and embarrassingly matted. Granted, I should have brushed his tail before the appointment... but one would think a groomer could handle that. He smelled like poop and his head and ears were hacked and chopped unevenly. I can't even confidently say that he had been bathed. I called the manager but the groomer told her that Elvis had "pooped in his cage" and that's why he smelled bad. Really?? They are refunding half of my bill, thankfully. The assistant manager even offered me a complementary bathing on the Vet Hospital side. I would definitely NOT recommend this place for grooming. read more
