Confirmed my appointment 1 week before, get all the way there day of and the receptionist cancelled my appointment for no apparent reason days prior and neglected to let me (THE CUSTOMER) know. They were unable to reschedule me till SEPTEMBER or provide any reason or context as to why the appointment was cancelled in the first place. Very disappointed in the desk service. read more

I just moved to the area and had some bonding come off one of my front teeth They cemented it back on and it lasted only 24 hours, and came off. He tried again, adding extra cement material which made it stick out like a huge tooth. It was placed on crooked, doesn't line up and he made it more white. This was meant to be a quick fix so he could redo both front teeth at another appointment. However, once I mentioned I was from CA and how much I typically pay there the estimate was jacked up to conform. Nowhere in the nation do they charge $700 for a chair bonded tooth. Now I am stuck with a horrible look which means no more smiling! I can buy a plane ticket to LA and with bonding included at $350 be far ahead of dealing with this work. I'm extremely upset that a dentist has no regard for your smile and would attempt to overcharge. read more

Having been to many dental practices in my life, rare is the dental professional who cares more about the patient than just digging in, billing and out you go. I've been to people who didn't talk, talked too much, talked among and about themselves, etc. Doctor Scott Sweeney is that rare person and his staff follows in his path. From the time you walk in, it's a pleasant staff member. When Doctor Sweeney greets you, the normal apprehension is dissipated. I have had major work done in his practice: filings, extractions, dentures, relinings and never once felt I was a problem as I had in other practices. Is dental work tough sometimes? Well, sure, but if you need compassionate care and assurance that things will be made right, Doctor Sweeney and staff should be a first choice. I drive 30 minutes way out of my way to come to this dentist office. It started with a Living Social deal on Invisaline. It saved me a few thousand dollars over quotes we received elsewhere. They were so good to my daughter that she now refuses to go anywhere else. My daughter is particular about her teeth. She could go anywhere for a basic cleaning but here it is always seems to be a bit more than most. They care about not only the health of her teeth but also how they look and what makes her happy. My second daughter is now a patient here as well. The dentists, dental hygienists, front desk staff are all extremely professional and alway very nice. A wonderful practice. Dr Sweeney has been my dentist for several years now, beginning with a full upper restoration. The process was long and arduous for both of us, and we have been through a lot together through it all. He and his team have always been as gentle as possible, super accommodating to my schedule (there were some long evenings for them) and very compassionate! His assistant Julie is truly amazing and does all she can to make you feel comfortable and less anxious. They have wonderful rapport with each other and with their patients, which makes for a much more relaxed and, almost fun experience. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes after I arrive for my appointments, and have always been able to get appointments without too much notice. Yesterday one of my crowns broke and they were able to get me in within an hour! Not only did Dr Sweeney take the time to alleviate my pain and put in my temporaries so the bridge could be picked up for repairs quickly, he even worked to find a solution that would fit within my budget. My mom found Doctor Sweeney just searching online. Her dentures completely broke, we gave them a call, and Dr. Sweeney Had her come in within 45 minutes. He repaired the broken dentures and started her on the process of getting a new set. Being fairly new to the area, and not too thrilled about our current dentist, I immediately switched over to Dr. Sweeney myself. He is amazingly thorough, went over all of my x-rays with me, and told me what had to be done (unfortuntely three of my fillings were bad). He set up a plan for me that day with a breakdown of what insurance would cover and everything. I have been back for 2/4 of my procedures and everything has been quick and painless. I even get to watch TV while he works. He also takes the time to personally walk out every one of his patients. Absolutely above and beyond anything we have ever experienced. The reception staff is also incredible. They are extremely welcoming, and the reception area has more of a spa feel than anything else. Yes, I did say spa feel. Most (every) dentist office feels so cold, dated, and just so... DENTIST. Waiting here is extremely comfortable. There is even a saltwater tank to enjoy! The reminders the office sends are easy and convenient. Upon making an appointment an email confirmation is immediately dispatched with a link asking for confirmation. A day or two before my appointment I always receive a text reminder as well as a couple hours prior. Last time I forgot to respond to the text confirmation and the office called me to confirm. I really don't have the option to forget! Thank you Dr. Sweeney and the rest of the staff for making Dentistry so comfortable. You truly do your profession justice. read more

I had been going to this practice for 1-2 years and was very happy up until about 6 months ago. The office is very nice and the staff was friendly. I thought it was strange that every time I went I had a cavity to be filled which was very unusual for me since I didn't consistently have cavities at my prior dentist. Once I switched insurance, I went in for a filling and they performed services without confirming my new coverage. I later received a bill and learned they did not accept my new insurance so had to pay out of pocket. No one even called to let me know and they were not apologetic nor did they offer to discount when I followed up. I've been at Magnolia Dentistry for two visits now (also very nice office and very nice staff) and no cavities. I'm always weary with dentists and fillings and this has made me question whether those were true cavities requiring fillings. read more

Dr. Sweeney and Julie are the best! I had tremendous pain in a tooth and was able to get an early morning appointment. Dr. Sweeney said "sorry, you need a root canal, how much time do you have". I told him if the pain goes away I have all the time he needs. He completed the procedure, and patiently answered all my dentistry 101 questions. I am eating now and haven't been able to that in 2 days! Dr. Sweeney did my Invisalign as well and was always accommodating to my hectic work schedule and travel. Yelp is a place filled with regrets...but my only regret is that I can't give this place more than 5 stars! Everything about the experience here changes the entire dental experience. As soon as you walk in, you realize how pleasant and clean the waiting area is! The staff are not only polite and helpful, but friendly to boot! They always make sure I'm being taken care of in a timely fashion, and seem to go out of their way to answer my questions and make me feel comfortable. Up until now, it would be easy to brush this aside as thoughtful ownership...the dentist chair is where things are supposed to get scary, right? Not here. The cleanliness of their lobby carries right over to the procedure rooms! I'm not a dentist, but if their equipment is clearly all top of the line: I felt like I was walking onto the set of Star Trek! And if you're in for a long procedure, you can watch TV while they work on your teeth! Again, on appearances alone, this could all be chalked up to thoughtful ownership and good marketing. But the true beauty of this place is once again their staff: their hospitable bedside manner, their clinical expertise, and gentle techniques are light years ahead of any other dentist I've visited. I only wish I had discovered this place earlier! Speaking as someone who used to despise going to the dentist, this is a complete and utter game changer. My regular dentist was closed due to covid -19. They did refer me to Dr Sweeney ,who with his assitant was a on call emergency Dentist. They came into work even though the virus had closed everyone else. I had an emergency extraction a very difficult one . i was having tooth pain and was afraid it would get worse. It took 2 hours and the tooth did not want to come out. I experienced no pain . I am home recuperating and so far i feel fine . Taking meds and waiting to be able to eat. He did nt ask for any money and said they would mail bill. Hopefully I will have a good recovery. read more

About a year ago I went in for a cleaning and had an awful experence. I never got my cleaning and left with a root canal I couldn't afford. I had an appointment a week later but got the flu and when I called to reschedule I was made to fell terrible. They gave me an extreme unaffordable plan for my teeth. Needless to say I never went back and have found other people that have terrible experiences here. So of you hate the dentist I wouldn't recommend going here, they make you feel uncomfortable and terrible about your teeth. read more

I really needed to go to the dentist to get some fillings. I wanted to make sure I went to a excellent dentist that wasn't trying to get money out of me and do a good job. I've had some bad experiences in the past and was a little nervous about going to the dentist. I travel for work so it is extremely hard for me to get appointment quickly. Some offices also wouldn't let me get any work done at the first appointment either. When I called to make an appointment they were very understanding and said it wouldn't be a problem. First of all, this office is completely electronic which is very cool because I can have everything emailed to me and not have to worry about losing X-rays or hard copies of anything. The hygienist greeted me from the waiting waiting and walked me back. She was super friendly and nice. I could tell she really cared because her and the Dr. Ross went out of their way to make sure I was confutable and get all the work done that was needed. They also worked with me to get me out of their on a timely matter, still doing a perfect job. They made sure everything was perfect before I left the office. They were both so sweet and I haven't had a better experience at a dentist office. read more

So, as others have said I really really REALLY dislike going to the dentist. When I moved to MA I had to find a dentist and stumbled upon Andover Cosmetic Dental Group on Yelp and figured I would go for it. I have had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed here, cleanings, fillings, etc and they are really great. They make coming here not as terrible as it could be and they make it pretty easy. Today I went in for some impressions to get new retainers that will have adjustments to fix my shifted teeth (I traveled and didn't bring my retainer :( oops) . I also had a cleaning. Dr. Sweeney is amazing. I first went to him when I wanted to get veneers. They turned out incredible and it didn't hurt really at all!! I started going for cleanings there as well and the entire staff is just amazing. There have been a few times where I've called them in pain from a bad canker sore or a super painful tooth and they took me in same day and fixed it right up (turned out to be a cavity). They always spend the time to talk to you about your concerns. I've never been to a dentist/doctor who is this good. Well done. read more

My husband had been trying to get me to come here after I complained so much about my current dentist. I didn't feel like my current dentist was doing a great job with caring for my teeth. I was nervous about going to the dentist since I had not been in over a year. My husband had nothing but good things to say about this place so I finally made an appointment and I am sure glad I did! The lobby was very impressive and clean. It definitely had that tranquil spa feel to it and there were comfortable chairs and a large TV and magazines available. There was complimentary coffee with a Keurig coffee maker. The check in process was easy and all done on a computer. The staff was exceptionally nice and they knew my name before I even provided it. I didn't have to wait long at all and I was brought into one of the nicest treatment rooms I have ever been in. There was state of the art equipment and the friendly hygienists made you feel comfortable at once. There was a TV to watch while my teeth were being cleaned and I didn't have to move to a different place to get my x-rays done. Everything was done right there and they went over all concerns extensively. After a thorough cleaning and examination of my teeth and x-rays they were able to develop a plan for treatment. I loved how they give you a print out of your treatment plan along with all estimated costs for treatment so there are no surprises. They were also great about working out appointment times and being flexable with my schedule. All in all it was a great experience and I loved the friendly staff and would highly recommend them to anyone. I waited way too long to come here and unfortunately my teeth have paid the price from bad quality dentistry all these years. I have full confidence in their staff that they are taking the best care of me and will get me back to great dental health in no time. read more
