I have been using this business for over 30 years - but in the last two years it has really deteriorated. I believe due to new management or change in their structure. In the past we had a CPA do our taxes but two years ago it was changed to preparers - not CPAs. I did not realize that they were not CPAs nor was I told that a CPA would not be reviewing our taxes. As a result significant mistakes were made on our taxes over the last two years. When I tried to discuss this with the office manager Deana I was told that no CPA would have time to look at my return and that the preparers were actually more experienced than CPAs. This all came about because of a sale of a second home that we had purchased in 2021 and sold in 2023. It was clear the preparer I was talking to had little knowledge of the tax code that covers sales of this type. But Deana told me I was wrong about that - the person knew the tax code in this area. Given her response, we had no choice so we switched to another firm that has CPAs. It was through them going through our taxes that these significant errors showed up. Specifically on maximum interest deductions and amortization of points for 21/22. I just hope we do not get audited. Andrade was fully aware that we purchased this as a second home but unfortunately the preparers that had doing our taxes did not know the code enough to file our taxes correctly. So unfortunately I cannot recommend them any longer when I would have in the past. read more

Tim Elkins, I attempted to amicably resolve the following issue with you. I am surprised and offended by you calling me up last night and showing your anger and taking your frustration out on me. You correctly stated that I blamed you for not asking me where I wanted my last year (2022) tax return to be sent. Well, you are right, you did not ask me! You assumed. So you sent my tax return to the IRS without asking me first. You said to me in tax return year (2021) Ed you agreed to not receive your tax return so I sent it into the IRS for your next year (2022) return. For the 2022 return you again sent in my tax return without asking me if I wanted to receive it myself or send it into the IRS. You sent it to the IRS. This mistake cost me over $5,000. In your anger/frustration you were blaming me when it was you who prepared the taxes and it makes common sense to ask a client what they wanted to do. It was not my responsibility if you are being compensated handsomely for your work. As I remember last year when we spoke about this issue you mentioned what happened was not your first time this happened to you. For the mishap, you offered to not charge me for doing my taxes in the year 2022. I believe you have been doing my taxes since 2008. In addition, you became sarcastic and made fun of me regarding past tax preparations back in 2008. You did this by saying I brought in chicken scratch paperwork to do my taxes. In all these years you never mentioned anything to me about the early years where I brought in hand written paperwork to prepare my taxes. For numerous years now I have been bringing in computer generated records to prepare and substantiate my taxes. Your disparaging remarks were beneath unprofessional. You took responsibility willingly last year for your oversight and now you're flipping it upside down and trying to make me look like the one that is responsible for the mishap. During your loss of temper and frustrated moment on the phone with me last night you stated you will not be doing my taxes anymore after 16 years. This reflects poorly on you as a person and on Andrade and Associates by not continuing to truly accept your responsibility. Plus, you displaying disrespectful rude behavior. The staff has become increasingly rude unprofessional. After 30 years of using this service I am done.

Started going to Andrade in 1974, when Frank had a tiny one room building at the corner of 190th/Hawthorne...... at that time there was 2 desks..... think the other desk was for his wife. We followed in their moves over the +45 yrs and the most we ever waited, was about a donut worth..... meaning, I just finished eating the donut. Wilton has been doing the work for what I can't remember how long. Have been audited twice, business side and both times it was the IRS MIS-reading or the computers not reading the entry. Both times, I made 1 call and 2-3 days later got my confirmation letter from Andrade explaining what was done and should get a letter from the IRS in 2-4 weeks..... both times, IRS letters were to apologize for what they called an oversight..... I have been with Andrade for over 30 years and have come to realize that I have been treated as nothing more than an ATM machine. They keep raising their fees, but the service is poor. I leave messages to which they do not respond and when I have a problem they are not to be found. Overpriced and lousy service. !!! AVOID !!! read more

After paying the additional fee for approx 20+ years, so that we would have help when/if the time came for an audit, Andrade and Associates was not there for us. When we did get the dreaded letter from the IRS, we called and called to our CPA Jeff and never got a response. The receptionist explained he was too busy. NO ONE CALLED US BACK. EVER. I've been getting my taxes done with Wilton for 20 years, at approximately $350 per year in costs, my appointment this year was scheduled for February 16, but I won't have all my tax documents until the end of the month, after 2 calls from Andrade & associates they told me the WILL NOT reschedule my appointment, that it's my decision if I want to go somewhere else, THATS LOYALTY, I will go to another Tax prepare, H&R Block has already scheduled me for March, GREAT WAY TO KEEP LOYAL CUSTOMERS. read more

I've been coming here since I first needed to file income tax. Apparently my grandfather used to come here and then my parents when they got married. I was told it has moved throughout the years but has been in it's current location since my first visit. It has changed buildings but it is in the same business park. They have coffee in the waiting room and soda in the refrigerator behind the counter. They also have M&M dispensers on the desk as well. We always show up a little early and Wilton, our income tax guy, takes us in early if the next appointment is running late. I think in all my times of coming here I had to wait for my appointment twice. Things are run efficiently in this office. It is a long drive from where I live and I don't know if I will continue coming here later on of go somewhere else. It is a little pricey though. If you have one W2 and fill out a short form it will set you back $75. A few times I have gone to the United Way and had my taxes done for free and I got the same amount back. I'm just throwing that out there. However, if you have a lot of things to claim, I would recommend coming here. read more

I've been going here for years. They were referred to me by a friend of mine. When I first came here my taxes were a mess, but it took one meeting with Tim to create a plan on how to fix them. Tim has been great to talk to especially about explaining taxes and when things should be filed. Really knowledgeable team, and they are coherent, meaning the front office team talks to the accountants so everyone is aware of what's going on with your file. I'll be completely honest, I can only review the one tax associate who I've been using for many years, but he is the WORST! I'm a single mother of two, I've now been AUDITED SIX TIMES!! If I could use 0 stars I would. Not only did this associate include deductions that I never ever stated, but when the audits starting coming, I would leave message upon message with no return calls...I was always told "he's with a client, he'll call you by the end of the day". And this is after always paying for the gold package! If I had the time, I would picket this office. read more

I believe this was our third year with Andrade & Associates and in the past they have done an adequate job with our taxes. In the prior years, we would be called to inform us our taxes were done and if we couldn't file in time (for whatever reason) they would file an extension on our behalf. We appreciated and enjoyed that aspect of the service. We had a different experience for last year. We received no call and no extension was filed. We were not informed or warned this service would change and so we gave no thought to the fact we hadn't received a call about our taxes. We followed up, but it wasn't until many weeks later because the office closes promptly at COB April 15. So, we finally got our taxes and we filed them, but we were surprised to discover no extension had been filed. This created a significant problem for us and we ended up with a penalty. When we called to ask about this issue we were told, quite rudely, it was our own fault and "everyone knows taxes are due April 15th." Well, of course, we know that, but we also knew one of our preferred services was that an extension was filed and you were called when the taxes were prepared. The saga that followed is inexcusable and a lesson in how not to handle customer service. Repeatedly, we were told this was completely our fault, we will be given no refund of any kind, and we should have just known better. Out of "the goodness of their hearts" they agreed to "try and fix it." Well, nearly a year later and they had managed to write only a single letter to the IRS on our behalf, which, as it turns out, was filled out incorrectly and totally worthless. We ended up having to handle the situation ourselves for both our business and personal taxes. After handling it ourselves, at our expense, we called back again to ask for a refund on their services. They said since the taxes were prepared correctly we get nothing and it is, once again, completely our fault. I think what galls me the most is they never even apologized for suddenly changing their services without notification. I tried explaining to them that having done this for the prior years we had a reasonable expectation they would continue to perform these services (after all, we pay for it) or, at the very least, inform us this would change. My last call with Margie, the manager, was very unpleasant. She wouldn't even allow me to speak with the accountant we had been using for the last several years, but promised she would give him the message. Then, she accused me of calling her a liar when I stated she wouldn't let me speak to him. Frankly, it was a poor experience for us and we did not feel we had a partner in Andrade. If you're looking for a firm to essentially copy and paste your P&L into a tax form, then this is the right place. You're not going to get any tax or business advice of any kind; and if something goes wrong it is completely your fault. If they offer to help out of kindness, think twice before accepting it since you will end up having to chase them down for a year before you just end up doing it yourself (or paying someone else to do it). read more

This is a nice office to have your taxes done. Tim is my tax guy. I have been going to the office for the last 6-7 years. My husband has been a client there for over thirty years and his children and ex wife also go there. The office is cozy and the staff friendly and helpful. After years of Woody Ford preparing our income taxes and our recommending him to everyone we knew I was devastated when I required his assistance due to a 2006 audit. I received a letter in 2013 advising me we owed State tax for 2006. My husband died unexpectedly in 2012. Woody assured me he would resolve the issue. In 2014 I received a Letter advising me a lien was going to be put on my house. This was 18 months after the issue was brought to Woody's attention and his assuring me he would resolve the issue. I faxed the Letter of Intent from the State to put a lien on my house to Woody. After numerous attempts to contact him he finally took my call and told me he had contacted the State. I contacted the State to confirm he had. The State advised me he had not. Woody told me he faxed necessary documentation. The State advised me he had not. Woody advised me he had electronically submitted an extension request. The State advised me they do not allow that. I asked Betty at Woody's office to please send me a copy of whatever document Woody supposedly faxed to the State. All Betty would say is Woody is working on it. He does not return my phone calls. They will not provide proof of anything being done. THEY DO NOT CARE. It is indisputable negligence by Woody Ford. read more
