Second, is the qualification of her and her team's expertise. I couldn't have found a better attorney to represent me where the entire world "loosing my son" was resting upon it. Julie is a master at her craft and able to pivot in a moments notice. Another reviewer said " she is a bulldog in the courtroom that actually cares about her clients", I couldn't agree with that more!! Any attorney worth their salt will have a full client base as Julie always has, but the service Julie provides, you would think that you are her only client. She knows your case inside and out and will fight to get you what you want/deserve! Which I think is a perfect transition into Ethics. Julie and her team hold themselves to the highest of ethical standards! First, although I had provided my personal phone number as the preferred contact, I received calls on my work line--raising questions about the firm's internal communication practices. Additionally, Susanna referred to another team member using feminine pronouns, even though the individual's name and vocal presentation suggested otherwise, which made me question whether roles were clearly defined within the team or if they are aware of who is doing what. Second, I was quoted a rate of $500 per hour for Stephanie's services but learned that the firm uses a free version of Zoom that restricts calls to 45 minutes. While I appreciate a preference for in-person meetings, this reliance on a limited virtual setup seems inconsistent with such premium rates. Additionally, I felt that my concerns were not fully heard during our discussion, as I was interrupted repeatedly while trying to share my observations regarding their firm. Although this might have been an off day for the team, it contributed to my overall impression that the firm's operational practices might not align with the cost involved. Ultimately, while the firm may very well produce excellent work under different circumstances, these factors led me to seek alternatives that better match my expectations for organization and professionalism. I chose this firm to not only do my estate planning, but to hopefully find a firm that would also represent my father to get his estate in order also. I had my initial meeting with my paralegal to answer a few questions. Professional, easy enough to follow along and she even helped me with questions i had pertaining to my dad's estate. She even gave a heads up to the paralegal that was going to manage my dad's initial call. She was helpful to talk me through the process, the documents needed etc so that I could help manage my dad's approach to the process since he was skeptical in using lawyers in the first place and didn't want to pay exorbitant fees to create a will. The initial call with the paralegal for my father - Sylvia was EXTREMELY knowledgeable, helpful and clear she had been doing this for years and really knew how to talk with many different types of clients. She was able to manage the situation and talked directly with my dad and almost won him over. He agreed to the $349 initial consultation fee with the lawyer. Thought things were going well, then just received a call from Jennifer that the firm would not be able to serve my father because they were already providing me services. This made no sense to me at all since they tried to explain it saying the paralegals didn't know the policy. They for whatever reason decided they didnt want to service my father. I said I would happily not be a client so that my dad could be a client, but they said no. I took my business elsewhere. They should have been clear about this up front...and not waste my time, my dad's time and everyone else's. Ridiculous waste of time and totally unprofessional. Wish I could have given it more stars for the extreme care and hospitality of Sylvia, but just shocked they didn't tell me this up front.
