My natural nails were brittle and breaking at the nail bed. I started to cut them off and start…read moreover. Instead, I tried Jocelyn at Nail and Skin Bar. The place was so clean, neat, pleasant and quiet!! I was immediately at ease after the fear of salons due to Covid. I was so pleasantly surprised that I did not have to sacrifice 1 nail. I am TOO pleased. All my nail and foot apprehensions melted away with the gentle thorough service I received. Nail and Skin Bar, you get a cookie And a star. Love it.

I literally just got a pedicure here and couldn't wait to review this place…read more it is amaaaazing. Best pedicure I've gotten! My pedicurist was Jaime and she spent an entire hour pampering my feet and making my toes look beautiful (I haven't had a pedi in a year so we're talking about some major work here). I brought a book to study from but I almost fell asleep because I was so comfortable. The nail job itself looks beautiful. Jaime helped me pick the perfect color and like I already mentioned, she spent a luxurious hour getting my toes in tip top shape for the wedding i'll be in on saturday. Lots of scrubbing, filing, and massaging! It was slightly expensive- luckily today is Wednesday and they have a pedi special for $30. I'll probably try to always come on wednesdays to catch the special but the money is well worth it here :)

I'll start by saying that I am not a person who gets my nails done, but I had this urge to do…read moresomething different. I don't know the nail lingo so when I called, I needed it for a Wednesday and I wanted them"done". Had I known any better, I would've said full set. On Wednesday a basic manicure is what you get. After about the third coat of clear polish, I asked if I was getting actual nails and that's when I was told I was only getting what I got. I wish this was clear from the beginning because I definitely came in and announced myself as new and I know they knew I wasn't a regular. Once it was clear that I wasn't getting a full set, I just went on with the appt bc at this point all is left is polish. The lady couldn't do a full set bc she had other clients. This took almost an hour & there wasn't any other ppl there waiting for nails while I was there or when I left. She did try to reschedule me for a full set the next day or after. But it was a reason why i needed to be there on that particular Wednesday. Minus my nails, the service was ok, I didn't find the atmosphere to be relaxing. It doesn't give me spa vibes or relaxation. The place could use a facelift. Next time I will be very clear on what I want, my nails are ok I think they'd look cleaner if it was a full set. These were 15 dollars, so you get what you pay for. I may go back, but for now. That'll do it! Lastly. All pics are from same day of service.

Very detail oriented during service. Very lively conversations. Ample nail color selection. Booking very simple via schedulicity app. Pre booking is recommended as their schedules fill fast.

I should not have to spend 80 dollars for the most basic option pedicure, just because i get french and gel, especially considering the how quick they try to get it done and skipping steps. Yelp asks, "What could improve?" Everything- from lack of hospitality to insane upcharging and…read morenickel and diming. I had only been here once last year and thought the tech then didn't seem overly friendly, but chalked it up to her not knowing me. I returned yesterday out of convenience, which was my mistake. Had I visited Yelp first, I wouldn't have ever visited this business. The entire appointment felt rushed. When I sat in the pedicure chair, I noticed a dirty straw that clearly had sticky residue on it lying on the arm rest table, which made me question how well they clean and sanitize, but I dismissed thinking maybe it was overlooked. I got a toe polish change and fill in and was in and out in less than an hour and a half. I had implied on arrival that I wanted the gel on my toes soaked off only to have them be drilled anyway. The girl showed up with a suitcase of tools, did the work, and hurriedly escaped to her next client, leaving me feel like I was in the Atlanta airport. I asked how tip would be split since I was paying with card and would have two techs for hands and nails and she promptly told me I could only tip via Venmo or cash. Most places do this to avoid the fees from credit cards, but I was charged that fee anyway- also without being forewarned, which businesses in TN are supposed to disclose and this salon did not. I have never been told I can't use a card to tip. It felt very strange and unprofessional. The next tech hurriedly arrived, rushed through doing my hands. I already had a nice shape to my nails, but did need them shortened. I was charged for both a cut down and a reshape. Huh? They were already in the shape. So, you effectively charged me $10 to shorten my nails. Ridiculous. I was also charged to remove the gel from my toes for $5, $36 for the gel polish change, and $10 to put acrylic on two toes where the nails were splitting - over $50 for gel on toes and didn't even get pedicure service. Perhaps this salon would do better to inform of all the miscellaneous fees. $123 before tip for not even getting a full set nor a pedicure is highway robbery. Way too much nickel and diming going on here. I've been to many salons in the last year from travel and none left me feeling as unwelcome and taken advantage of as this one. I'm shocked they didn't charge me for the plastic cup they served my water in! I walked out and it felt like they didn't care if I walked out and never returned. Not the way to do business when there are as many nail salons in the entire block from Poplar to Mendenhall, Sanderlin and White Station. The only positive I can give is that they have a large selection of nail colors and brands- but you can quite literally go to Gloss and get a comparable selection, which is where I should have gone to begin with.
