I am a member at Ontelaunee, dunno how else I would be able to review the place…read more Ontelaunee is a members only club, Do not come here until you get a membership. But it's only $30 a year. You do need to attend a membership class (schedule is posted on the website). All that out of the way...I've lived in 6 states, 3 countries and I have been shooting for over 10 years and this is the best gun club I've found so far. The RO (Range Officer) will check your membership card then leave you alone. This is not a place to rent guns or go for firearms tourism. Go to the place Easton for that. There is a wide variety of ranges (25 yd pistol, 50 yd rifle, 100yd rifle, 200/300 yd rifle, Archery and trap). There is even a fishing pond for when you're tired of shooting. Everyone I've run into has been polite and friendly. Target changes and calling the range cold happens at the request of the shooters as is needed. The only downside (if it can be considered one) is that during the summer weekends many of the ranges are shut down for matches and competitions of various sorts. The upside of that? They're open to the public! Go shoot your first IDPA match, or USPSA match! Buy a revolver and shoot ICORE! Joining here is the best $30 I have spent this year. Period. Full stop. It'll also be the best $30 I'll spend next year.

I'm told they can close anytime between 10:00 pm & 1:00 am depending on how many patrons are there. On a quiet/slow night, expect them to close around 10:00 pm. If it's pretty busy, they may not close until 1:00 am. Here are the basics: Hours: Bowmanstown Rod & Gun is open 7 days/week. noon to closing Monday thru Friday 10:00 am to closing Saturday and Sunday, Happy hour 4-6 Monday thru Friday. 25 cents off drinks. Prices during normal hours: Schmidts $1.10. Domestic bottles $1.85. Shots about 2-2.50. They have 4 draft beers: miller lite, bud, coors light, and yuengling lager. $1.30 for a small beer and $1.75 for a pint. I'm not sure about wine/cocktail prices. Food: Food wed and Friday. Wed night is taco n wing night Bar pizza all the time $6.50. 50 cents extra for pepperoni. Chips/pretzels 75 cents Hot bologna $1.50. Tiger cheese/ red beet eggs $.50. Candy bars $1 Beef sticks 3 for $1.00 Beef jerky $1.50 Tea/soda 75 cents Block shoot first Saturday of the month, May thru October. Entertainment: This bar has the usual entertainment. They have a pool table, darts, a Trophy Hunter video game, and a jukebox. Plus the expected gambling you normally see at private clubs - raffles and the fishbowl and pop tickets. Stop in for a cold cheap beer, talk to some good people and enjoy yourself.

Nice rifle range with 25, 50, 100 targets. It's been better maintained a lot more in the last few…read moreyears than it had been prior. Pistol/.22 range is ok. Many backstops, but the really nice part is there isn't a ton of use, and if you want to move closer than the 25 yards you can - nice for practicing different pistol disciplines. Also no silly rules like some clubs have about 1 shot per X seconds, etc, so you can actually work on pistol drills if you want. They also have a blackpowder only range that has a lot of stations - I believe they host some blackpowder matches throughout the year. No trap stations or places to throw clays, at least not that I've found yet. Overall, pretty low key, I think most people join for the social hall, although they do have a youth pheasant hunt yearly. Not a lot of organized shooting activities though, like steel matches, multi-gun, action pistol, or even rimfire matches, so not a terribly active club in terms of shooting. Make sure you have you membership card - they check often (and they should). Many instances in the past of non-members using the range. Only real knock I have is that children/wives of members need to have a membership too to even be on the range (liability issue I'm sure), but they won't give a membership to a child under 12. Pretty tough to train a youngster if you can't get him/her to a range. Other clubs do it, and we need to foster the next generation of shooters. I'd like to see something that allows younger shooters to be there. Overall, nice quiet place to shoot though.

I forgot to take photos this time (other than us hitting targets), but the setting alone is worth it. Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays is set in an old cement quarry from the late 1800s, and the rustic feel is totally unique. It really adds to the whole sporting clays experience. On our most recent visit, December 17, 2025, we had a group of three. We rented 20-gauges and bought ammo to run all 17 stations. We're not newbies, but we don't shoot clays all the time, so it took us about three hours. Since it was during the week before Christmas, it wasn't very busy, which gave us time to get back into the rhythm. I've been closer to Christmas and around Thanksgiving before, and it can definitely get busy then. I called ahead to make a reservation, which I recommend. First-timers need to fill out waivers, and if you're renting a shotgun you'll complete a green waiver when you arrive. If anyone in your group has never handled a shotgun before, they also offer group lessons to get everyone up to speed. I'll definitely be back--no question.

This place is ridiculous. Ridiculously over the top - GREAT!…read more My 18 daughter and I were in Williamsburg on business and had downtime before departing. I wanted to find something outside her comfort zone that she'd enjoy and well within mine. We found it at National Range and Armory! Fantastic experience with both friendly staff and co-shooters. The range was open, bright, clean and with advanced target mechanisms. The semi-auto wall has about 100 weapons of various calibers and manufacturers. Take your pick, get your ammo and have safe fun on the range. If you'd like to swap out for another weapon, have at it. No limits in doing so while you're there. Trey was terrific showing us the procedures and tips on how to enjoy the range. It will be some time before making our way back to that part of the country, but when we do, we'll be visiting for another range outing. Thank you for making the tail end of our trip a bulls eye hit!

Not only was it easy to complete the paperwork to get on the range the first time but the employees as well as range personnel are all very nice, professional without a hint of arrogance. Everyone seems to be a firearms expert these days and so many younger people are so arrogant about it and think they know everything but these guys... Top notch! Someone actually said goodbye to us as we were walking out the door... I almost tripped lol. They have eight lanes and allow up to .308 rifle to their max of 25 yards. They also allow shotguns shooting 00 buckshot. Closed on Monday and Tuesday, they have a ton of pistols for you to rent for range use and quite the selection in their showroom. Honestly, how many times have you been able to first shoot the pistol you thought about purchasing? Range time cost $20 per hour, and the rental price for a pistol is refunded if you purchased that pistol through them. The only caveat to renting one of their pistols is you have to use their ammunition which is a really smart move. I doubt you will find another indoor range or store that is more accommodating than this!
