The Port Bar & Grill - Wing special

This is not a place you just "happen across" by accident. We needed a place to meet that was in the…read moremiddle for two families...did a little looking online, and decided on The Port. It's a tiny town bar, in a tiny town so...ya never know how that will work out. The service was pretty good, it was a little busy when we got there but, they managed to squeeze us in. We were relegated to the "upstairs" which definitely was "under construction" but considering the fact that we showed up with no knowledge that a reservation would have been more helpful...it was all good. They sat us pretty quickly so...no biggie! The food...THE FOOD! The first that came out were "pork bites"...WTH?! They were AMAZING! We all agreed that if the rest of the food was like that...it would not disappoint. We got our drinks...I am into the whole IPA thing, and there was a respectable offering...I tried the New Trail Disc Golf...GLAD I did because THAT'S going on my list! The main meals were REALLY good. I had the Black and Blue burger (GET IT!) along with others who all agreed it was very good. My 17 year old son had The Flight burger with fries. He said it was really good, and seriously could only finish half! If you are within an hour drive of this place, and you just want to try something different...GO!...JUST...GO!!!

This little divey spot has unexpectedly delicious food that will keep you coming back. I started…read moreoff with an order of the Crabby Bites. Basically mini crab cake balls, deep fried and served with a side of the house cajun ranch. It was a great size for sharing, but I could have easily put down 2 orders of these. They were moist inside, perfectly fried, and the ranch had a nice flavor without being too hot. For my main I ordered their Maine Lobster Roll. Fresh cold lobster mixed with mayo and celery salt and comes with a lemon wedge on the side. I've had some really good rolls while visiting New England and this roll stood up to the others. Generous lobster portions, and the perfect ratio of mayo without making the sandwich soggy. It was delicious and hit my craving. At the Port, the outdoor seating is where it's at. A fully enclosed patio, fans, and a full service bar. Inside, they have a fully stocked beer wall with loads of beers on tap to try. The down sides here are that it is in a residential neighborhood with on street parking. Get ready to drive around looking for a spot and be prepared to walk. The Port is currently rated a 9.1 on my Beli and is worth a stop whether you're looking for some good beer or delicious pub food.

Decided to road trip up to coal country to try this mythical burger we heard of, and it was all we…read morewanted and more. Everything came right out of the kitchen hot and fresh. Yes the screamer sauce is spicy but it is really tasty, and the fluff chills it out in a very harmonious way. The burger itself is a juicy double patty. The fries reminded us of high school football games and the pierogies were fun with extra toppings. If you learn of the Screamer it is then your destiny to pilgrimage to Girardville and dine on them. Pay your respects to Josie and the amazing family legacy that lives on. We have to go back to try a Growler. Things we learned that we wish we knew before visiting. 1. Seems like the most up to date info on the restaurant can be found on a public Facebook Group called "I Love Tony's Screamers". There is currently no phone. 2. *Right Now* their hours are Thur & Fri 6pm to sell out. 3. You enter the door with the ramp, not actually next to their sign 4. You take a plastic number when you walk in, to get in line for your order. They call your number out to come give your order. 5. Everyone there was super nice and the waitress had no problem answering anyones questions or explaining their menu items. You can order your food however you want it 6. You pay after and its **CASH ONLY**

This is one of those places that nobody talks about that is a kept secret in Schuylkill county. The people that know this restaurant won't really tell you about it because it's a secret locals only, but I'm telling you if you happen to be, passing by Girardville and it's 730 at night. Stop in and say hi you won't regret it.
