My privacy fence was knocked down by Hurricane Dorian a while back. Insurance was contacted, an…read moreadjuster came out eventually, and it was determined that the damage wasn't bad enough to constitute a claim. Anyway, that is for another review. I contacted Charleston Fence for a quote on replacing 3 of the four sides of my yard fence. Andy came out quickly and efficiently provided a quote via email and text. I had already requested permission from my HOA, but had I not, Andy and / or his team would've helped me with that process. The HOA took a full 30 days for a response, but again, that's for another review. We reviewed the quote and I provided Andy with a 50% down payment. Once we got the approval, Andy was able to give me a time when my fence would be replaced. As promised, they showed up on Thursday of last week to tear down the old fence and set the posts for the new one. Cleanup was superb, and even my neighbors commented on how great it looked after only the fence was taken down. The next day, they came in and put up on the new fence, and they were done about halfway through the day. The fence looks great. I'm really proud to have a Charleston Fence, and the neighbors all seem to love it too. Would be happy to recommend them to anyone looking for a new fence.

We agreed to a deal and he said if I could get him the money and property plot to him he would get it to my HOA for approval immediately. I asked for a contract and got him the info/money that day. After not hearing anything for 3 weeks I reached out to Jake and was told that he was held up because of a divorce he was going through. I told him, No problem just communicate with me going forward so I know where we stand. Two weeks go by with no contact. The new excuse was surgery. This process repeats itself until I wrote a scathing review on google and was heading to small claims court to get what was owed. Jake then immediately asked for me to please remove the review. He offered the title to his truck/golf cart. I explained I don't want a truck or golf cart I want a fence or money back. He said he didn't have the money any longer, but would honor it as payment for labor if I would buy the materials he would consider us good on the contract. I waited three weeks with various excuses as to why his lumber connection wasn't coming through. After that he threw in the towel and offered me my money back. That was three weeks ago now. At this point I have to believe he is either a thief or a terrible operator. There are plenty of other options in this town to settle for someone that clearly had little ethical standing in the way they treat paying customers. Off to small claims court we go!!

Got a metal fence put in by Town and Country overall they did a good job. Everything was properly…read morelevel and followed the design properly. Followed the slope of the yard and made things as aesthetic and level as possible and did a good job of making thinks tight and avoided gaps. I think it is easier to make a metal fence look good since there is little variation compared with wood. The price was within the average of the 5 or 6 places I asked for quotes (aluminum fences are not cheap) and they didn't low-ball and raise their price by a large percentage. One thing I liked, they wanted to be sure the HOA and city regulations and permits were met which made me feel they were professionals and not apt to cut corners. They asked for the material costs upfront (check is fine) and then the residual at completion.
