Beach City Massage and Bodywork was the final spot I tried of my three Groupons and wow- I'm might need to keep getting 90 Minute Massages from here on out. Danny was an amazing, attentive masseuse. Before starting the massage session, he confirmed the time length booked and asked about preferences between relaxing or restorative & any areas of focus. He also made sure to let me know I should inform him if the pressure is too hard or too light at any time. During the session, I could tell that the massage wasn't a routine (this area for X minutes, this area for Y minutes). Danny responded to and adjusted to the tightness and needy spots all over my body as he made his way around. Throughout the 90 minutes, I felt like every area of my body got the attention it needed (ex: more time in tighter spots). The hot stones were nice, but the hot steaming towel was my favorite heat feature used because it was so hot but cooled before it felt too hot. After the massage, Danny let me know about certain areas he observed tightness and areas/muscles he spent extra time on. He also advised me about taking it easy if I were to do any stretching or yoga the same day because I might be looser from the massage work done. That was a thoughtful warning he gave. The location (5001 Birch) is interesting. Plenty of parking on a weekend, but that's because it's a very "dead" spot on the weekends. I think all other offices are closed on Sundays, so inside was dead too. I did feel a little on edge about going in and being alone with a masseuse I hadn't met before, but all is well! Now that I know what the massage room looks like and the space it's in inside the office center, I feel more comfortable. The massage room is located in a different therapy center space (it was like a room you go into for PT when you need hands on work done on a table from a PT). TLDR: Wonderful full body massage. Definitely would go back for another massage. Plenty of parking on weekends.

You can tell they care about their clients and take time to personalize each session. I left feeling much more relaxed and noticed real relief in my neck, shoulders and back after just a couple of visits. That said, they're pretty busy. My response is explaining his defensive need to falsely accuse someone of something illegal. Which is defamation. Th original review is after. My Response to Josh: I figured that Josh would feel the need to protect himself. The only way Josh could defend himself was to lie about his non- compliance to his contract terms and condition. What he says is definitely defamation. I have been and always will be very careful to not accuse anyone of anything that I am not fully aware of and I have confirmed my position. I don't want anything to come back to haunt me simply because it is not true. The Contractor that contracts the providers, such as Josh, is how I learned of Josh's non- compliance of his contractual obligations, or possibly it could be his plain ignorance of the terms and conditions of his contract. His opinion of the Contractor, I quote "is they ( the Contractor) are "crap." He has also verbalized and written other complaints about this Contractor. He definitely has issues with the Contractor. Aside from a problem that may have existed, Josh refused to service my medical issue, which is against his contractual obligation. Which he was obligated to take care per his contract. Do you want to take a chance with this provider when there are others. I'm not sure if it is acceptable with YELP but if someone needs to call me for details call me at 949-966-2027. The Review Current reviews look too good to be true for Josh, the only at this office. And notice the reviews are outdated. I am not sure, but perhaps there is a way to delete the negative reviews. I don't know because this is the first time I ever reviewed in YELP. I am a 72 year old man who has never wrote a complaint before. I hope my need to write this review is not taken lightly. I felt a need to inform others. Josh does seem OK with skills. But his lack of responsibility and caring has cause me to suffer because he did not follow the terms of his insurers contract. He could have helped and is contracted to provide the help and care that was needed. This is true, even when it very well could have been Josh's fault that a problem or need exists. He shows no desire to help. His "cold" persona became evident. I suffered for 2 weeks because of something that Josh should have taken care of but didn't. I had to follow up on my own and found that there were more than one part of his provider contract that he did chose to not comply with, because he did not want to comply. He did not follow the terms of an insurers contract, so I suffered. His non compliance was confirmed by the insurer. I expect that most of you will assume Im just a complainer or being vengeful. I am not. Look, do your self a favor, and regardless of the very few reviews here, there are many other acupuncturists in the OC area, choose a different provider. Josh may be skilled, but why choose an important provider for your needs that will not take care of you when you really need the care. And is above following all the terms of his contract or did not care to know the terms of his contract.
