I had a great experience at Green Forest Wellness. The space is clean and calming, and both Josh (acupuncture) and Sunny (massage) really know what they're doing. You can tell they care about their clients and take time to personalize each session. I left feeling much more relaxed and noticed real relief in my neck, shoulders and back after just a couple of visits. That said, they're pretty busy. It can be hard to get a last minute appointment, and you might need to book a week or two out. It's a small, thoughtful practice with skilled hands and a peaceful vibe. read more

The first review is a response to a medical type provider's false defenses of a negative review I needed to file on his actions. My response is explaining his defensive need to falsely accuse someone of something illegal. Which is defamation. Th original review is after. My Response to Josh: I figured that Josh would feel the need to protect himself. The only way Josh could defend himself was to lie about his non- compliance to his contract terms and condition. What he says is definitely defamation. I have been and always will be very careful to not accuse anyone of anything that I am not fully aware of and I have confirmed my position. I don't want anything to come back to haunt me simply because it is not true. The Contractor that contracts the providers, such as Josh, is how I learned of Josh's non- compliance of his contractual obligations, or possibly it could be his plain ignorance of the terms and conditions of his contract. His opinion of the Contractor, I quote "is they ( the Contractor) are "crap." He has also verbalized and written other complaints about this Contractor. He definitely has issues with the Contractor. Aside from a problem that may have existed, Josh refused to service my medical issue, which is against his contractual obligation. Which he was obligated to take care per his contract. Do you want to take a chance with this provider when there are others. I'm not sure if it is acceptable with YELP but if someone needs to call me for details call me at 949-966-2027. The Review Current reviews look too good to be true for Josh, the only at this office. And notice the reviews are outdated. I am not sure, but perhaps there is a way to delete the negative reviews. I don't know because this is the first time I ever reviewed in YELP. I am a 72 year old man who has never wrote a complaint before. I hope my need to write this review is not taken lightly. I felt a need to inform others. Josh does seem OK with skills. But his lack of responsibility and caring has cause me to suffer because he did not follow the terms of his insurers contract. He could have helped and is contracted to provide the help and care that was needed. This is true, even when it very well could have been Josh's fault that a problem or need exists. He shows no desire to help. His "cold" persona became evident. I suffered for 2 weeks because of something that Josh should have taken care of but didn't. I had to follow up on my own and found that there were more than one part of his provider contract that he did chose to not comply with, because he did not want to comply. He did not follow the terms of an insurers contract, so I suffered. His non compliance was confirmed by the insurer. I expect that most of you will assume Im just a complainer or being vengeful. I am not. Look, do your self a favor, and regardless of the very few reviews here, there are many other acupuncturists in the OC area, choose a different provider. Josh may be skilled, but why choose an important provider for your needs that will not take care of you when you really need the care. And is above following all the terms of his contract or did not care to know the terms of his contract. read more

I was referred to Green Forest by a family member because I struggle with TMJ and back pain from an old spine injury. They highly recommended Josh (specifically for his TMJ acupressure massage) and let me tell you, He is magic! It's unlike any other massage you've had, I promise! Green Forest was easy to find (as I'm not from the area) with ample parking, and a clean office. Scheduling has been painless as he accepts texts, phone calls, and vm (quick to respond too!) I have been able to get my appointments within 1-2 weeks) Josh takes pride in his craft and his business. He is very kind, professional, and reasonably priced. How can a massage that hurts also be relaxing?! Well, don't look any further because you can get that here at Vantis Therapeutic Massage!! I'm in love! Let me explain.... This is a one man operation, and Josh does a great job. He only does Chinese Massage, which I've never had before, but I'm completely hooked now. You leave your clothes on, there's no oils/lotions involved, and he'll hit all your "trigger" points -- all of which I love! During my 60 minute massage, I was cringing in pain one minute, but almost completely asleep the next minute. It doesn't sound too appealing, but it works and will leave you completely relaxed. When my 60 minutes was up, I wanted more! I also couldn't move for a minute or two after my massage was done because I was so relaxed. But once I got up, I was so happy and I felt more limber. Amazing. I did buy a Groupon for this massage ($35), but normal massages are $75 for a 60 minute massage (he actually goes the full 60 minutes too). I noticed he does offer package deals, but I don't remember the prices of the packages. On a side note....I'm not sure if this is normal of him, but Josh was about 30 minutes late to my massage. My appointment was at 11:30am on a Thursday, but when no one was there by 11:40, I called him. He called me back about 5 minute later, said he overslept and would be there in 15 minutes. He did show up in the 15 minutes he said, but it was still 30 minutes AFTER my appointment. He was very apologetic and I did get a voucher for another massage. His massages are wonderful, and I know crap happens to the best of us at times, so I'd still recommend him to others and will be back another time. But I hope this isn't a trend! If like many people I know, you prefer a relaxing Swedish style massage, I would go somewhere else. Josh has a unique acupressure style of massage. You do not disrobe and he spends substantial time using deep pressure on what aches to increase flexibility and mobility. It can be painful and you may be sore, but it is going to be worth it. Sometimes you need someone to really give it to you ... in a massage sort of way. As Vantis is a relatively new business, it is fairly easy to get an appointment. There is ample parking and it is easy to find on Vantis Drive. It is a very medical massage, so keep that in mind, but, for what it is, it is good. I bought 2 Groupons ($35 each) - one for me and the other for my boyfriend. But Groupon often has 20% off local deals, so I took advantage of that when I bought the Groupon! I made an appointment for 2 Swedish massages for the both of us, but there wasn't an available slot for the both of us for 3 weeks. That's cool though, as we weren't in a rush for a massage. When we arrived Monday night, we were greeted by the guy in the front. He had such a calm and friendly presence, unlike other Chinese ladies at other massage places we've been to. We were then asked to fill out a form and point out which areas on our bodies we wanted work on. After filling out the forms, we were then directed to our own rooms. There, I was instructed to undress and lie down on the bed, under the sheets. In about 5 minutes, a lady came in and started working on my back and neck. She definitely focused on the areas I circled on the chart, and I just felt so relaxed and could feel the knots in my back being untangled. The massage was simply amazing, as the masseuse just hit every point and the relaxing music just made everything 100 times better. When she was working on my legs and feet, it was so relaxing that I totally knocked out. I honestly cannot say more good things about this place. Both my bf and I recommend it, 150%, and I know we will be coming back for sure. read more

Impressive, Josh was very good about what I needed due to an injury and health issues. He listened to the fact that I really didn't want anything to traumatic and regardless, it was one of the most effective massages. It is not traditional in that he focus's on pressure points but for someone like me who has fibromyalgia, those points matter and it really helped loosen up some sore spots. This is an update on last year's review of Sunny and today on Josh, her husband, an acupuncturist. With about 30 massages by Sunny, I can say without hesitation, I have never been disappointed. She really cares about her clients, their aches and pains. On my most recent visit, I had leg pain and concerned about its origination. She isolated the painful area (hamstrings) and continuously massaged that area until it felt much better. Sunny suggested a couple of exercises that might help. With her nursing background, she is a wonderful resource. Again, my only complaint is that you have to book many weeks in advance. No drop-ins. She is worth it and I'm happy to book in advance. This review is of Josh, the acupuncturist. The day before my flight to Hawaii, I was feeling sluggish and concerned that I was catching a cold due to a weak immune system. I called Josh just in case he could help me. First time. I was fortunate he was able to squeeze me in later that day. Fortunately he said I didn't have a cold but had weak energy. What a relief! After my treatment, I had no other issues and had a great trip. Josh is professional, knowledgeable and both he and Sunny have the utmost integrity. I had never had acupressure massage before. I read very little about it, and wasn't really sure what I was getting myself into when I purchased my localdeal almost a year ago. I've been having neck and back pain on my left side especially, for about 3-4 months. I figured it was time to try it out. I called up Josh and made an appointment for last Wednesday. I showed up in comfy clothes at 10am and he very briefly went over what would happen. It wasn't anything I had ever felt before. My first thoughts were, how is this going to help me relax? I rode out some of the more painful pressure points and wondered how what he was pressing on was going to help. Suddenly, my hour was up. He gave me a little bottle of water and I went on my way. I must have drank a gallon of water that day! I started to feel more pain as the day went on thinking maybe it didn't work, but the next morning when I woke up.... all my neck, shoulder and back pain were... gone! I couldn't believe it. All day long I was turning my head in ways that hurt so much before. It was amazing. I just had my massage today after my friend recommended it. I have never had acupressure massage before - always opting for relaxing massages from spas. This was a new experience. I do work out intensely everyday which probably causes tight muscles. Josh is extremely knowledgeable, professional and so calm with magic hands. I had no idea that I had so many knots in my neck and shoulder and back. He got every single one and at times it was painful (hence acupressure) and at times really relaxing. During the massage, I made a deliberate attempt to relax and take my mind to a meditative state. My spine even feels relaxed. After 60 minutes were over, I could barely get up and could have stayed there forever. But I came home and slept for 2 hours. If you find it too intense just let him know. Environment was so peaceful, really zen like and relaxing. So turn off your phone, give yourself up one hour to Josh and remember to drink lots of water after. read more

I had my first experience with Vantis Therapeutic Massage today. Wonderful experience Josh and his wife Sunny were very gracious, professional and welcoming. They wanted to know of any issues, problem areas and history. They are apparently able to provide different Styles of therapeutic massage and suggested a Chinese acupressure type for me. He explained he would do the first 1/2 hour and his wife would do the second 1/2 hour. Josh used just his hands with a great firm touch. Sunny used a tool of some type which I didn't get a chance to see but I believe is was infrared type of tool. Either way it was a great experience. They were both checking in to see if they were giving too much pressure. Not for me! I liked it so much I decided to buy two gift certificates for my good friends. They usually charge $75 per hour but you get a nice discount for Purchasing a package of 2 or 4. I plan on becoming a regular client. read more

I strained my shoulder a week ago and was barely able to turn my head without tears of pain, but after two sessions 3 days apart, my range of motion is seriously improved and the pain is reduced dramatically. I bought a Groupon deal and went to Josh late evening on 1/22/12. I normally get deep tissue massages. This was my first Acupressure experience. You do not disrobe, so pressure will be applied on top of your clothes. Do not expect super deep pressure, like a deep tissue massage. I must have asked at least 3-4x times throughout the duration of my 90 minute massage for more pressure. "Yes, sure thing" said Josh, but the pressure remained the same, lol. He did focus on my problem areas and found new trigger points (problem areas) that I was unaware of. For this reason, I will say that Josh did do a good job despite the lack of pressure. He was very intuned with my problem areas. read more

I have been going to Josh and Sunny for some time now. I couldn't recommend more. I first came to Josh's acupressure massage with a coupon from Amazon and it was really good. I bought a package right there and have been going ever since. I highly recommend the deep tissue massage by Sunny and acupuncture/acupressure massage by Josh. The amazing thing with Sunny's deep tissue massage is that she is able to dissolve all of the knots in my body without creating any discomfort. It doesn't ever hurt! Whenever my massage session with her is finished, I always wish that the massage was for 2 hours instead. Recently I started coming to Josh for problems with my left knee and the muscle under my right toe. My left knee has been bothering me since last November when it was injured during a workout class. I have tried acupuncture, joint vitamin, and patches from different doctors' office. None of them seems to have worked. I almost booked a trip to China and stay there for 3 weeks to have some Chinese doctors to take care of it before my boyfriend suggested that I try Josh. At first I was hesitant because Josh is quite young so I thought some older doctor might have more experience. Since my boyfriend had good result so I decided to give Josh a try. My left knee has been more than 70% better after only 3 acupuncture sessions with Josh. Now I wish I had come to Josh earlier! His approach to acupuncture is quite different from the approaches taken by other doctors I have gone to, and yet it is even more effective. On top of the good quality of their services, I also highly recommend their business for the ambiance and the positive energy there. Both Josh and Sunny are very gentle, genuine, humble, and honest.
