This office needs to call in temporary help if it cannot meet the needs of its patients. Teeth are a high priority and I expect a dental office to appreciate patients with this mindset and not act nonchalant about canceling a patients appointment. I have set day and times that I'm available due to my own work schedule and this office wouldn't be able to accommodate them until 6 months from now?!?! This indicates an office management issue that shouldn't be put upon the patient. I already took my business elsewhere when they cancelled my hygiene appointment in January and said they couldn't get me in until July if I required a later afternoon appointment. The rest of my family will be discontinuing service as well after they cancelled my husband s appointment and couldn't accommodate his schedule until summer.

Many working for this dental office are not wearing masks, openly encouraging others to gather/not…read morewear PPE, and not doing anything to prevent the spread of COVID 19. I worry about coming in for my annual cleaning, or bringing my kids, even if they take "precautions" in the office. How can they ensure patient safety if all the employees don't take precautions outside the office? These are supposed to be educated, medical professionals. I might be taking my business elsewhere, and I encourage others to consider doing the same.

The hygienist, Lauren, instantly made my her feel comfortable and safe and set her appointment off on the right foot. She was wonderful. The front desk staff is helpful and kind as well. And the office is clean! Another big deal. We've had a pretty poor experience at another dental office recently and I was worried my daughter would be very anxious seeing a dentist after that. Dr. Bo is thorough, gentle, and great at communicating. She felt comfortable with him right away. I left feeling relieved and confident after having such an opposite experience elsewhere. My child left actually enjoying her experience and not afraid to come back for treatment. Thank you to everyone at Hawks Prairie Pediatric Dentistry!

You can tell that Dr. Bo takes his staffing very seriously by the way they conduct themselves in their patient care and also safety & disease preventions. During Covid, their office was always following all Covid safety measures (not every dental office was) - I never had to worry when I brought my son in for his appointments. If you come a few minutes early to your appointment they have a fun game room for the kids to play, they always have a fun show on during the appointment for your kiddo to watch, and they also have a reward system for their toy store that they earn money for at each cleaning. Couldn't recommend this office enough! Very friendly environment.

From the time we first started going there as babies they immediately told us one child needed a lip tie cut, and the other needed a tongue tie cut and referred us to a speech therapist. Neither child had any speech defects or problems talking where that would ever be necessary. We chose to not do either and they are just fine. Then every appointment after we were told they would have multiple cavities that needed the expensive sealer put on them, then this last time we were told that our 6 yr old needed a crown! It seemed that every time we went back it was more expensive for reasons that didn't really seem to add up. We just moved out of state and saw a new dentist and after doing x-rays he confirmed no crown would ever be needed, and there were only a few cavities that were minor unlike what they had told us at Olympia pediatric dentistry. We had another friend with a child that went there who was told the exact same thing and proceeded to do the crown, causing the child, extensive anxiety and trauma. They ended up going to another dentist and again was told that was not necessary and never needed to be done. It feels like this place is constantly trying to get you for more money when the work isn't even necessary. Just be aware!

A couple of months ago, I endured one of the worst weekends imaginable. My toddler suffered a…read moreterrible accident through which she sustained extensive damage to four of her top teeth. This was on a Friday. After she received initial care at a local ER, she was left requiring a visit to an actual pediatric dentist. I called Small to Tall Dentistry at the recommendation of another Dentist and spoke with Dr. Rudder. This was on a Sunday afternoon and after hours; he was the on-call Dentist. Dr. Rudder gave advice on at-home measures I could take and gave us an appointment first thing the next day. The faculty, from the receptionist to staff, were incredibly knowledgeable. More importantly, they were so patient and very kind to my 3 year old. She had suffered so much trauma in the last few days and was very frightened of anyone poking or prodding her mouth. The assistants that dealt with her directly made her feel completely at ease and were able to take the x-rays, complete their assessment of the damage and extract the two remaining teeth. I cannot overstate my gratitude for Dr. Rudder and his team. He showed a tremendous amount of compassion, empathy and professionalism. I even received a follow up, hand-written note from Dr. Rudder inquiring about my child, how she was healing and wishing us well wishes. You don't see genuine care like that these days. My only regret is not having this team follow us to our next location. Thank you, Dr. Rudder and team. I will be forever grateful.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel other parents deserve to know about our experience…read more All three of my children were recommended for significant dental treatment at this office. My youngest was told he had multiple "very deep" cavities that were "close to the nerve" and needed full sedation. My middle child was told he had severe cavities, would likely need conscious sedation, and might even need to be restrained because he probably wouldn't sit still. We were told they couldn't even get his X-rays because he wouldn't cooperate, but that they would take them while he was sedated. My daughter was told she had a cavity that needed to be drilled and filled. I expressed concern about how invasive these treatment plans seemed, especially for my boys. When I decided to cancel the procedures and seek a second opinion, the response was discouraging. I was told that if we tried treatment with nitrous instead and it didn't work, there would be a $100 "try fee." When I requested copies of my youngest son's X-rays, I was told, "I doubt you have the technology to view them," which I found incredibly dismissive. Today, all three of my children were seen by another dentist, and the findings were dramatically different. My daughter was found to have no cavity at all. My middle child's records from this office included X-rays that had already been taken--despite us being told they were never able to get any because he wouldn't cooperate. He also had nothing that required immediate treatment. My youngest had fewer cavities than we were originally told, they were not deep or close to the nerve, and they can be treated without novocaine or nitrous. All three of my children sat calmly and cooperated wonderfully during their exams. The differences between the two evaluations were alarming. I am incredibly thankful that I trusted my instincts and sought a second opinion before allowing my children to undergo sedation and extensive dental work. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this office.

We went back to happy kids to see what the issue was, the dentist looked at it for one minute and said we needed to go to an endodontist as he may need a root canal and he can't do anything with a permanent tooth. We pay out of pocket and have paid happy kids almost $2000 at this point. Weeks later of my son being in pain we finally see the endodontist who says the tooth is alive and we need to go back to Happy Kids to resolve the issue. This time we see another dentist at Happy Kids who can tell the tooth is alive and gives us antibiotics to treat the POSSIBLE issue. It has been almost 2 months between the first appointment and this last appointment. It has been months of my son being in pain, going back and forth between dentists, additional money out of pocket when this could have been resolved if the dentist took the time on our visit in January. Edit: the antibiotics did not work and my son is still in pain.
