The entire office was fantastic. Efficient--called my insurance and provided what my portion would be. Called me back, fit me in, and were incredibly kind and personable. Dr. Reff couldn't have been nicer, even though the recommendation ended up being an extraction vs. root canal and cap (which was the plan). He even called at the end of the day to check on me and see if I had any questions about the next steps he recommended. I've never had a doctor of any sort do that before. So I'd say the entire experience was incredible positive even though it meant a different direction for me now. If you're in need of an endodontist this practice should be your first call! read more

Care and professionalism from the first phone call. I was provided with help finding a dentist to do my initial exam and then a very quick appointment to take care of my root canal. Everyone in that office was confident, kind, informative and genuinely interested in a positive outcome with my tooth, working in seamless and quiet rythmic tandem. To my surprise I dozed off in the treatment chair. Me, who during every single other visit to a dental practitioner finds my hands clenched and my knuckles white! The wifi music channel may have contributed to my sense of relaxation, playing everything from Stanley Clark, Van Morrison and R. Carlos Nokai. Very pleasant. I highly recommend Dr Ref and his excellent staff to everyone needing expert care and pain free treatment for serious dental problems. I was in a lot of pain and needed an emergency root canal, and after calling about 10 different offices, Dr. Reff and his team were the only ones who made room for my appointment the following day so that I would not be in pain. I'm quite stunned to see so many 5 stars here. I was referred to this office for a consultation for a potential root canal. Even now (as I write), I have pain migrating from my tooth up to my ear. However, the dr's response after barely looking at my tooth and barely speaking(or asking me any pertinent questions) was that because I just had a crown put in recently that it may be residual pain from that. And while he suspects that I do need a root canal that I can wait based on my symptoms, which could potentially improve. Unfortunately, my dentist's office apparently only works with his. I'm not sure I am keen on returning to that office based on the lack of thoroughness no matter how nice and clean the offices are. For less than 10 minutes in and out of the office, I got charged $200. read more

Great root canal! I realize that sounds like a very unlikely statement, but I truly mean it. From start to finish, my experience at Dr. Reff's office was outstanding. His staff was friendly, prompt, and accommodating. Dr. Reff did a great job explaining everything. As for the procedure itself, I was completely numb and was surprisingly comfortable throughout the entire time. I visited Dr. Reff's office this past Friday after having been awakened with HORRIBLE tooth pain earlier that morning. I was desperately in need of a root canal--a procedure that I've only heard bad things about: The pain, the discomfort, etc... I was nervous, to say the least. When I arrived, I was greeted by a lady at the front desk who was super friendly (more so than most other dental offices). Then, I was taken back by one of the dental assistants (probably not the right terminology) who was also super friendly and calming. When Dr. Reff came in to greet me, he sat down and spoke to me as though I was the only procedure he had the whole day; full attention and focus. He spoke calmly and treated my procedure as if it was both something he'd done a million times (awesome), but also as though it was unique (because each case is), and that means a lot, because the last thing you want to feel prior to having a procedure like this done is that you're just a number, and that your individual discomfort and pain and concern is not to be taken seriously. Dr. Reff shared an informational video with me about the procedure, what it entailed, etc. He then numbed me up (honestly, this is the only part of the procedure that is the least bit uncomfortable). Once numb, it's just a matter of lying there... Nothing to be nervous about at all. Afterwards, when the numbing wore off, there was a tiny bit of discomfort, but I didn't need anything more than a couple of ibuprofen. My highest regards to Dr. Reff and his staff. DR.REFF is AMAZING!!!! Not only was he friendly and polite, he was extremely gentle throughout the entire procedure. I was in so much pain due to a toothache and he got me into the office the very next day. He and his entire team showed extreme professionalism and compassion and I felt like they truly cared about me. Dr. Reff even called me a few hours after to check on me. That meant a lot to me as a patient. It is 5 hours after I had my root canal and I am completely PAIN FREE. In a team meeting I mentioned that I had a root canal scheduled for today. You would have thought I announced a loved one passed on with the sympathetic looks that I received. OK, so I was worried - you know the phrase "I'd rather have a root canal ..." Anyway so it happened today. Here are my specific comments: Pain - while everyone is different, my experience was minimal to none. Dr Reff has this technique where he flaps your cheeks (literally) as he is doing the Novocain. IT completely took my mind off of what was going on. I could hear the drill but could not feel it. Time - Mine took an hour and 15 minutes but it really seemed to go fast. Professionalism - Dr Reff was fantastic. He explained every step from start to finish. His assistant, Jenny, was equally professional and went to great lengths to make sure I was comfortable throughout the process. I am a big baby when it comes to dentists in general but at least I know that if I need to have this done again, I know where I going to go. read more

This is information I would have liked before I went to this office, so I am sharing it with you. Dr. Reff has some of the most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered, who actively prevented me from getting the treatment I needed. The full story is below if you have time. I was referred to Dr. Reff while in the process of a very difficult root canal. On the day of the consultation I was so sick that I had to load myself up with medication so that I could get out of bed to go to my appointment, and so I wouldn't be coughing and sneezing all over everything. At first they seemed very nice while getting the xray, and called my other dentist to get some info for me. Then Dr. Reff told me I needed a $300 scan before he could make a recommendation. This was of course surprising and upsetting but I had little alternative. After looking at the scan he explained to me a complication that had not been fully disclosed to me by my previous endodontist, and finished by saying that the root canal was not going to be possible and I was going to lose one of my front teeth. At this point I was sick, exhausted, and facing the prospect of hundreds of more dollars of work so I left in tears. Dr. Reff seemed compassionate; he spent the next few days talking with my dentist and decided that he could try the root canal and we scheduled it for the following week. However, when the receptionist called to confirm my appointment I told her I had a cold because I wanted to know if there was any particular advice or preparation besides the usual over the counter medicine. I didn't get the chance to ask because as soon as she heard "cold" she said I could not come in because "we can't get sick". I thought I hadn't heard her correctly but she further explained that there were only three of them there and no one could get sick. I said you're a doctor's office and I need this treatment, I can't believe that is Dr. Reff's policy. She said she would check with him and call me back later. Of course she didn't, and when I called back to see if they would honor the appointment, she said no, Dr. Reff was a dentist not a doctor and he can't be sick either. She said she would have the office manager call me. When the office manager called me I told her my cold was worse when I had been in the previous week and surely sick people come there all the time. Her response was well they usually don't tell us beforehand so you just need to wait until you're better. I told her then that I wasn't coming back and that I needed a copy of my scan. She said she would mail me a CD. Well unsurprisingly no CD, so before my next consultation I had to drive up and get the CD. When I walked into the office the manager said "I remember you, you canceled your appointment." I said no, you did, and when she proceeded to argue with me, I told her I just needed my CD. She said I was rude and kept arguing the point, "yes you did, you canceled because you were sick." I was visibly furious and when I turned around and walked out they were both laughing and the receptionist sang out a snarky "Have a great day!" to my back. It was after this that I knew I needed to write this review. From my conversations with Dr. Reff it is hard to imagine him working with these people but maybe he never sees this behavior, or maybe he encourages it, hard to say. And he might be a very skilled endodontist -- I'll never know because I never got past the Mean Girls at his front desk. read more

Dr Reff performed a root canal in my crown with clinical expertise, calling me after the procedure to see how I was. His office staff and the entire experience was fine. When I continued to have problems afterward he was incredibly kind and helpful, referred me to another dentist who, as it turned out was not in my insurance panel, he then spent more time helping me identify a care provider who was in my insurance. When he was on vacation he took more of his personal time to insure all my films were sent to the new dentist, and also spoke with him. When I continued to have problems he allowed me to return for a repeat panoramic film to see if the problem was improving. Since the insurance would not cover this ct scan he very kindly worked with me regarding payment. He spent a lot of time with me in the office and on email; his personal attention and kindness combined with his professional skill and expertise are fabulous, he is a gem. I had a very complicated problem with my wisdom tooth, that had four infected roots. I was in pain and was very scared of going to the specialist. Dr. Reff performed an amazing work when doing my root canal - not only I did not feel any pain, but was very comfortable during the procedure. Dr. Reff was very professional and informative - explained every step he was performing. I came back to the office twice and both times I was really amazed with the quality and professionalism. Dr. Reff personally called me couple of times after the appointments to verify that I was doing good. I did not have any complications and all was healed good. The staff was very friendly and courteous. There was no waiting time and the office is spacious and airy. Dr. Reff himself is incredibly nice and explained everything patiently and clearly. The actual procedure was quick and painless and I even got a follow up call from him that night! The technology there is new and modern and the office is paperless.
