Dr. Andrew Rahn: Dr. Rahn is a professional. He had good bedside manners, was competent and friendly. If I was just reviewing him, this place would get a perfect score. Reception Area: The clinic looks clean and welcoming. Lisa was personable and friendly. Communications: We had communication issue with the other staff members. I spoke with Diana and followed up with an email. After 5 emails and 3 telephone calls, I finally received a call from Lisa regarding instructions. Now, seeing a dentist by itself can be very stressful, but going in to get 2 wisdom teeth extracted is certainly frightening and unbearable. Given the circumstances, I would think a professional office would set our minds at rest by communicating our fears and concerns with us. Instead, they chose to ignore our concerns. I find this quite disturbing. Insurance: I asked that they check with our insurance company to see what would be covered. I was informed that they couldn't do that until the day of the appointment. I have had a couple procedures from Dr Rahn in the past. I was put to sleep without incident. I was previously a happy patient, and had even referred a friend. Today, however was not a good experience. It was a horrible experience. I was supposed to be put to sleep for a tooth extraction. I was awake the majority of procedure, trying to tell them how much pain I was in. It did not seem to matter. I wanted to be put to sleep so I wouldn't be aware of what was happening, wouldn't feel pain. That did not happen. It was a horrible experience and I'm never going back. read more

I went in filled out routine paperwork and once I was done they took me back. I was in and out before 12pm. My regular dentist saw me and referred me to his office that morning, a busy Friday. In spite of their full schedule, Dr. Rahn and his staff found time for me and treated me with great care and sensitivity. By lunch I was recovering. They didn't tell me until after my appointment that they were "out of network" for my insurance, then tried to charge me over $1000. When I wouldn't use them, they sent me a bill for the first visit for almost $200. very shady. read more

So I was referred here by my general dentist. I needed to get my wisdom tooth pulled out. So I went in for my first appointment, the office looked decent and clean. While he talked about my opinion he pressed hard for the more expensive procedure which is using an IV so I would be put to sleep. Also he used a scare tactic by saying in a pressuring tone, we could do the other way (local numbing) but you would be awake and you might feel pain because I will be cutting into your gums. I thought to myself, are you going to jack up my gums for not going with more expensive route? So when it came time for the procedure. I was out of town so I couldn't make the appointment and I was charged for not being there. But the shitty part was the reminder call. They literally called me an hour before my appointment. No it was a day before nor was two or three days to see if I can still make it. Literally an hour before the appointment! read more

The top ones were still too far up there and I appreciated his conservative approach about not pulling the top ones as it would be too invasive and close to her sinuses at this point. My husband had all four wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Rahn in August. When he first called, they were able to schedule his assessment and procedure one week apart, which was great. He had nothing but glowing things to say about Dr. Rahn and his entire staff. I went with him on his procedure day, due to him being having IV sedation. One of the assistants explained the the post op procedures to me clearly and answered all my questions. Everything went smoothly with my husband's procedure. My husband was worried about the IV part of the procedure. His veins are difficult to find and usually bruises. Not one mark was on his arm! Dr. Rahn did an amazing job. The office is clean and beautifully decorated. My husband did have an issue with a bone spur about a week later (which is a normal issue to have after tooth removal). He was not in pain, just an annoyance. They were able to accommodate my husband's work schedule to remove the piece of bone within a short amount of time. Positive: they were able to get us in on short notice due to an abcess on my husbands back molar and he has no more pain due to the abcess. Negative: the receptionist was rude and treated my husband like he was a waste of their time. When they took him back into the procedure room they did not explain the procedure of the tooth extraction. They did not wait for the topical anesthetic for the numbing shot to take effect nor wait for the numbing shot to take effect. When my husband told them he could feel pain they told him "No you don't. If you want we could reschedule you for another time and put you under instead." they said this without offering to do another shot and our insurance does not cover putting him under. After stating no he did not want to reschedule they went ahead and did another shot and again did not wait (not even 30 seconds for it to take effect) before 'crack!' they pulled out his tooth. Most dental offices give you a few minutes to get your wits together and they didn't do this either. They rushed him out. My husband had seven root canals in one day from another dentist and he never complained. (car wreck) This dental office was a nightmare and caused him unnecessary pain and humiliation. We will never go there again and will never recommend them. read more

Bad results and horrible service. I had an implant by Dr. Rahn get loose and removed. I was mislead and told that it would be replaced as customary professional courtesy. 6 weeks after this call to the office took place, I was informed that I would have to pay full price by a very rude staff member. Dr. never examined me or looked at my X-ray prior to making the decision. I'm a very healthy, non-smoker and in my 40's. I rarely post reviews but wanted to warn patients seeking oral surgery, that Dr. and his staff will be friendly to get your business but if you have any complications or follow up you will be screwed and charged again! read more

My son was referred to Dr. Rahn's office by our dentist office for wisdom teeth removal. Seeing how my son is about 3 years younger than most when wisdom teeth come out he was a little nervous. However, Dr. Rahn's office staff made him feel comfortable, according to my son. Speaking with the few staff I encountered, as mom, they were all very pleasant. Recuperation time has also been very easy, which I was surprised about! Bleeding didn't last but 4-5 hours and minimal pain! A friend of my sons went the week prior for the same visit and had minimal pain and quick recovery time as well. Much quicker than I remember 20 years ago! As someone who's child is a first time patient, we had a great first experience and go back for my son's follow up in a couple days. We would definitely recommend this oral surgeon. read more

I have very good insurance through delta dental and my hmo through work I go to dr kellog and grant who referred me to do wisdom teeth extraction and his staff gave me an appointment to go ever billing but then I was hit with 100$ payment!!!! I already knew I needed wisdom teeth pulled i didn't need to have an assessment and be charged for it. So I went to another office which charged me half the price for the procedure and guess what NO ASSESSMENT . I had an awesome experience with Dr Rahn and the staff! I just had my top wisdom teeth extracted 2 days ago and I'm already feeling no pain and back to work today! I had no swelling and only a little pain the day of the surgery. I had my bottom wisdom teeth removed by Dr Rahn a few years back and used no pain medication afterwards and that was the same for this time we well.
