But the person who normally cuts my hair has been on vacation for about 3 weeks and counting. I needed a trim and really did not want to do all the prep work myself this time plus travel an hour away for it. It was time for someplace nearby. I searched online and saw ill town salon was in business for over 25 years and had numerous great reviews and the photos from customers looked very well done. Tried this place and was not disappointed . I booked an appointment online which was very seamless and convenient. The salon was very nice and clean. I got there at 3:00 on the dot for my appointment and they started my hair right away. It normally takes me and exhausting 4 hours to do my own hair and I dread the task every time. I was expecting to be in the salon alllll day but she had me in and out in 2 hours! I am so impressed with the results. I got a silk press and there's really no other way to describe the feeling of my hair except SILK! I can run my fingers through it. It looks like it's not even my hair it looks like the bundles hair or something . It moves when I turn my head. I got a trim of my layers too. I was worried about how much would need to be cut off since I hadn't had a trim in about a year. She did a through job trimming without leaving me looking like Dora the Explorer . My hair still has length but no more split ends and my layers look beautiful . I don't go to salons often but next time I go to one it's definitely gonna be here.

She scheduled a hair appointment at this salon for 12:00 PM and we arrived early at 11:45 AM--only to find the salon completely closed. We waited until noon, assuming the stylist might just be running late, but no one showed up. We tried calling, texting, and messaging her through Instagram multiple times, but received absolutely no response. We waited until 12:45 PM--still nothing. At that point, we were left scrambling, trying to find a last-minute salon that could take a walk-in. Thankfully, we eventually found a place that was kind enough to help us on such short notice. But the stress, panic, and disappointment were overwhelming--especially on such an important day. What makes this worse is that this wasn't our first bad experience. Last year, the same stylist had my daughter wait 45 minutes after her scheduled appointment. We gave her the benefit of the doubt then, but clearly this is a pattern. To top it all off, the people in nearby businesses noticed our frustration and shared that this kind of behavior is common for her--apparently, many other clients have complained that she's frequently late or doesn't show up at all. Her usual excuse, we've learned, is a "medical emergency," but at this point, it sounds more like an excuse than an explanation. I cannot stress enough how unprofessional and unreliable this place is. We are extremely disappointed and would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you value your time--and especially if you're booking for a special occasion--go elsewhere.
