By far the best experience we had during our Colorado vacation. The guides created an atmosphere of fun and made sure our entire group had a good time, even on the bus ride to & from the water. They were also serious about our safety, carefully explaining how to navigate/ what to do if you got in trouble. (Which I did in the first 5 minutes!) I did exactly what Johnny had told us NOT to do & hit a rock with the side of my kayak (rather than head on) then flipped. Because of this warning, I was already holding my breath when I hit the water. Unfortunately, I was not able to climb back in on my own. Christian had his boat at my side in less than a minute. He told me to take his hand & hoist myself up as he pulled. I weigh about 50 pounds more than him & was 100% sure that would not work, as I had no energy to hoist myself. But the next thing I knew, I was in the boat. He accomplished this with only one hand on the first try. These guys really know their stuff! They are laid back & fun, but when the need arises, they have the skills & knowledge to keep everyone safe. No one made me feel bad for my mishap either, which was nice. When I thanked him later, he acted like it was "no biggie" but it absolutely was. The experience itself was awesome! There are challenging areas, but also calm ones where you can get some rest and enjoy beautiful scenery. I'm new to kayaking and don't have a lot of upper body strength, so if I can do it, you can too! If you want to err on the side of caution, I'd recommend rafting with them instead. Kayaking was lots of fun & a great workout, but it was difficult to navigate at times. And rafting looked fun too. I also have to mention the woman with whom we booked. My husband spoke to her on the phone a few times, and she was happy to answer all of his newbie questions. I also appreciate her suggestion that we go in the afternoon, as there was a group of highschool freshman going in the morning. She thought we'd enjoy being with an older, smaller crowd & she was absolutely right! It's the little things like this that make a business truly special. I'm thankful she had the forethought/ courtesy to give us those details. I'm very frugal, but the trip was worth every penny. Please bring cash so you can tip your guide too. I would have felt awful if I had no cash on me. The bus driver also had a tip jar which I didn't notice, but I'm glad my husband did. Driving through those mountains is serious business! These guys are awesome. I have been on other rafting trips and it feels like the guides are just going through the motions and looking for a paycheck at the end of the day and Adventures in Whitewater is totally different. We were staying at a dude ranch near by for a week and one of the activities was to sign up to go rafting. My wife and I decided to sign up and ended up being the only people on the trip. Our guide came to the ranch to pick us up, brought us back to their office, outfitted us and took us down to the launch at the pumphouse. The river was unusually high at this time of year and the water was moving really fast due to all the rain that we had over the month of May. Our guide took the time to not only point out things of interest along the way but made a huge effort to make the trip fun and informative. Despite the fast moving high waters he was always in control of the raft and we always felt safe. We had the pleasure of an all day trip with our guide which included a scheduled stop for lunch and two unscheduled stops to play alongside of the river. We stopped early into the trip at a place lovingly called "jump rock" where you are given a chance to jump into the river. After our stop for lunch we pulled over near Rancho del Rio and hiked for a few mins up a small are which used to be an ancient sea floor and check out some dinosaur foot prints! That was really amazing. The trip took us all the way to State Bridge, which is further than most rafting companies in the area will take you and it adds in a fantastic extra section of whitewater. It will well worth every dollar we paid for the trip and we will be back again in the future. read more

This was an excellent experience for my wife and I. This was our first time whitewater rafting and it was perfect. The guides do all the work for you and make the trip fun and informative with tidbits of knowledge about the area, animal life, historic points of interest, and the natural surroundings. I highly recommend the "full day" option. For a modest amount more you get a much longer experience and lunch set up for you along the river. They say "gourmet" which is an overstatement but it is tasty and hits the spot. Bradley was our guide and he did an excellent job of keeping things easy going and fun. Keep in mind, you may want to have some cash available back in your vehicle to give your guide a tip if you enjoy the experience (we gave $20 for two of us). They don't really push the tipping but I think it helps them out. As stated, this was our first time, if it is yours too here are some other helpful hints...don't just wear clothing you don't mind getting wet, wear something that is pretty water repellent (you will get wet and it may rain, as it did to us). Use the rental shoes from the shop ($5) which are wet suit material so they help to insulate your feet after the cold water fills up the bottom of the boat. Again...go for the whole day option which starts about 8:30 and goes to about 3:00 (give or take depending on conditions). They also mentioned an overnight option which sounds really fun, if you can make the time consider doing it. read more

This was out first raft trip. This is not something we have in the Windy City. Reservations were a breeze, one phone call and we were all set. We spend key to Bill, he was very informative and easy to work with along with a great sense of humor. We met Bill, he was approachable and ready at the desk as we came in. We completed the necessary paperwork painlessly. The whole time having some great laughs with Bill. We had a perfect day, the weather was great. We received all our vests and shoes with great ease. The staff even had suntan lotion for anyone who forgot theirs. We boarded the bus, full to its capacity. While heading down to the ramp they gave some great history of the area. Once we got to the launch area, we met up with our guide David. He was very informative and went over all the things that we needed to do. We felt very safe with all the guides. We stopped in an area that we were able to get out if the raft and get into the river from a vantage point. I don't want to give it away but it was a great experience. You'll see once you take the tour. We ended up going through some class two and three rapids. Our trip ended by getting back on the bus and driving back to Kremmling, again with some great history from all the staff members on the bus. On our next return we will definitely go back to Adventures in Whitewater's. This is all made possible by all the GREAT staff there. read more

This was our first time whitewater rafting and it was a blast. We did the half day run out of Kremmling. The river wasn't very high so the rapids were mild but it was a great experience overall. The bus ride to the launch spot was about 20 minutes and the lead guide Dylan was hilarious. He also pointed out interesting things along the way such as the sleeping Indian mountain and a orange bug that met its demise at inspiration point. Our raft guide,CJ , was a lot of fun too. He taught us about the "W" which became my family's joke the rest of our vacation. His rafting instructions were easy to follow and our family had a great time with him. At one point on the trip we stopped at a 25ft cliff to jump off from. We all climbed to the top to jump. My kids and husband did it no problem but I earned the nickname "Nancy" from fellow rafters because I couldn't do it. Dylan was sweet about it and climbed back down with me and a little girl that also was too scared. I'm sure he was disappointed because it was a hot day and I think he planned on jumping as well after us rafters were all in. I would definitely recommend this company for your rafting experience. They offer other raft trips that are more "rapidy" if you are looking for more of a thrill. read more

I live close to the area and my entire 10 person family came to visit me last summer so I decided to take them rafting to see the beautiful Colorado River. After some research and asking around there was an overwhelming consensus to book our trip with Adventures in Whitewater. After a quick and easy check in and paper work signing (which in not easy to accomplish with 10 family members) we were fitted for gear and off to the river. Our guides Justin and Bill were obviously extremely knowledgeable about the river and guiding a rafting boat down any level of rapids. They made everyone feel very comfortable and explained very well what kind of water we would be encountering on the trip which helped ease the more worried first-time rafters. We had a blast the entire trip down the river and Justin and Bill had everyone laughing the entire time! I figured it would be a good rafting trip down the upper Colorado River that day, but our raft guide CHRIS CHEEVERS made it an experience me and my niece will never forget. Thank you. From the time we walked into the building the staff was very friendly and helpful to the end when I felt like we were old friends. Being a raft guide is knowing how to be a professional on the river and keeping guests safe. This guy Cheevers surpassed that by being fun, energetic, funny and made the trip a true experience. Although this was a full day trip, I would love to take a multi day trip with him at the realm anytime. Even though I live nearby and knew a lot of local facts, he definitely knew more than myself and added the local flavor that the other guests really enjoyed. There are so many rafting places to choose from. A friend recommended this place to me. Wow was she right! They are really family oriented & the customer service was impeccable! We decided to do a day trip instead of half day trip, I am glad we did! We had a great lunch on the river bank that consisted of chips salsa, watermelon, sandwich fixings, with avocados, bell peppers, pasta salad, potato salad & cookies. They use a local meat market in town the lunchmeat & cheese were so good! Our guide Bradley was awesome! He loves what he does & it shows! He really interacted with my teenage boys. We rafted today with Alex, Justin and Louie. They were personable, professional, hilarious and most importantly incredible guides. Alex rode with us on the bus and provided tons of historical information about Kremmling, Colorado, the rivers we'd encounter, and how to survive in the wilderness... Did you know you can eat Aspen bark for pain relief similar to Tylenol? We didn't either. Lol! The whole crew really gets along and are friends outside of work. I don't think you can ask for more. If you want to know where to get the best pie and most delicious cut of meat after a day of river fun, get to Adventures in White Water! I just took a trip with my 2 kids (ages 8 & 13) with Adventures in Whitewater and they were absolutely great. We only booked the trip the day before because I wanted to make sure the weather was nice and they made an exception by accommodating our crew of 3 by having another guide join our raft at no extra charge. The river was perfect, the cliff jump was awesome (even the 8 year old did it), their knowledge of the wildlife and area was interesting, and our guide, Bill, was great! We even got to see a bald eagle & 6 bighorn sheep along the way. We had a great time on the full day trip out of Kremmling. Our guide, Keagan was personable and super knowledgeable about the area. We saw a bald eagle, stopped to take a short hike to see some fossils, and stopped to jump off a cliff. This was a great introductory trip for us. I would love to go again for a higher level trip with the same company. The team of guides were really friendly and fun. We had a great deli sandwich lunch with some healthy sides and cookies, too. It was more than enough to fill us for the rest of the afternoon. I would highly recommend this trip for anyone looking to try river rafting in the area. read more

Kyle, Jeremy, and Levi were all awesome guides. Kyle guided our raft and we had an unforgettable experience. Our daughter is deaf and he knew a little bit of sign language and even let her guide the boat. We did the full day trip and when we stopped for lunch some of the life vests went missing, possibly by the half day crew cleaning up. Luckily Kyle knew someone across the road that has been rafting for years and was able to borrow some so everyone on our raft could continue the trip. Way awesome! Went water rafting as part of a wedding party adventure. 50 of us on multiple boats. This crew planned a great trip. We were adequately prepared by them, they took great care minding safety, and we had the best fun! Our guide Dave was hilarious, taught us what to do and it was an amazing experience. My kids loved it, we all had fun and I would totally recommend this crew again and again. They take pictures so you can keep your valuables safe. We have amazing memories. We have been on several river trips. Justin, the owner, is so awesome and has worked with us on both our trips to accommodate us. Bill, Creech, Jenn and newer member Nick were spectacular today. We were celebrating my brother's 50th birthday and Father's Day. The crew looks after everyone and that is why our 74 year old father had a great time. This outfitter is one of the smaller groups in the area and, in my opinion, the best! They have an incredible staff determined to make each ride a memorable one. We had Kyle twice -- once for the half-day float and one for the full-day. He was attentive, funny and creative. He hiked to a town of 9 residents along the river to find extra life vests that were accidentally swiped at our lunch spot! Amazing. He and Levi and all the guides went above and beyond to make each person feel special. Can't wait to come back next summer! read more

We just got done with a overnight rafting trip down the Colorado with Keegan our river guide and Dillon our camp host. They were the greatest. Keegan teaching us how to paddle our raft and telling us all the points of interest along the river. Dillon the gourmet cook with chicken vegetable stir fry and s'mores for dinner and a Colorado omelet and coffee for breakfast. These guys made the trip the greatest and what a blast on the river. Everyone in the office were great in setting up the trip and answering all our questions. read more

This was AWESOME!! We had a great experience starting with the phone reservation (easy to reserve, answered all questions, informative) all the way through to the return shuttle van ride (lots of info about the area). Enthusiastic and informative guides - we had Bradley and Josey. We did the half day. Next time we'll try the full day or even the overnight trip. Had a great time doing the half day tour. Worker in office was very helpful getting us booties, life jackets, and getting us signed in. Short bus ride to the ramp. The trip down was awesome with excellent sights and plenty of activity. Not just a boat ride. Hot spring was closed due to covid but didn't look too impressive anyway. The cliff jump was awesome.
