We came up from Cedar Park, TX (outside Austin) and had a place in Vail. We were looking to get out on the river, and found Colorado River Center at Rancho Del Rio. This place is absolutely amazing. It's really cool the somewhat new owners Jim and Lauren....about as cool and easy going as it gets. I brought my family of 5, my wife, my 15 year old daughter and my sons 18 and 20....before my new grad heads off to West Point. We looked at some of the cabins, and you can see all the work the new owners have put into them, they look amazing, and a lot have been re-decorated. It's a very cool rustic. My wife and daughter loved the gift shop and the cool shirts. The guide Jeremy took us out, and my wife does not like the water, and he kept her pretty happy in the middle with the gear. We got out and saw some historical 1840's old cabin and other stuff, was completely awesome! We will be getting back there as soon as we can, the views driving in and out of there are almost worth the drive. They had a great little adult beverage store, pretty awesome to have out in the middle of nowhere...with no cell coverage which I loved....no work calls ,ha. Pretty family friendly, and the little wedding event setup looked cool. read more

We have spent the last 2 days at Rancho floating the river and enjoying the Saturday Night Concert. The new owners, Lauren and Jim, were amazing hosts and made sure our visit was fun and relaxing. This is our third trip as a family to Rancho and it just keeps getting better! We absolutely love this hidden gem and plan to come for a winter visit! read more

Went up for our second annual rafting trip with them, but they lost our reservation and we were left out of luck. That was a long ways to drive from Boulder and Denver, just to be stuck without any rafts or cell service. We confirmed our reservation the week before, and then even confirmed our trip the morning of. But once we arrived, we found out they had no reservation/rafts for us. We spoke with someone named Jimmy, John, or James, so if you work with these individuals, make sure to speak with a manager to confirm all the details. A few weeks prior, we left a voicemail, but didn't get a return call for four days later, which was a little annoying. Please book them at your own risk! This was our second time working with them. The first year was great, but they seemed to have gone down hill in the year since. On the way back to I-70, we passed a company called Sage Rafting, who is located near Dotsero. They had availability and were able to save our day. read more

Jim and Lauren are the absolute best. They recently bought Ranch Del Rio and it looks 100% better. A float down the river Is a must do every year for me and the family but now with Jim and Lauren running the place we will start renting their cabins and staying longer at Rancho. This was the cheapeast rafting trip during the summer. It was half day but it was more like two hours. River flow was average, and the rapids were not very intense. It's nice that the guide paddles during the slow times. If you feel like getting the whole experience and paddling, opt for the duckies for free. More intense than the raft. Try to go here during spring or early summer. read more

A group of my friends and I drove up from Boulder & Denver for the weekend to do some rafting with Colorado River Center. We called the morning of to confirm our reservation was good to go, and the representative said yes, you are all set, see you soon. An hour later we arrive, and we are told there are no rafts for us, and that they will not be able to get anything else for us the rest of the day. I am very unimpressed and disappointed by the lack of compassion to accommodate us, when we had this reservation planned for two weeks. Will not be returning. read more

Rancho del Rio is a super cool little spot/rustic resort. If you want to do an easy river run it is a great place to put in. We were renting from the only place there and we were shocked at how straight out obnoxious Lauren was. Really sad, when spending over $500 on rentals you don't really feel like being told off, have someone be sarcastic, talking about your kids AND your dog [Rancho is supposedly dog friendly]. What a total downer. Not that the person in the pickup van was much better - telling my child, get in or get out of the way! (really???) Too bad they have the monopoly, it is a really unpleasant way to start a river float. So stay away from the lady with the baby is all I can say - hope you get lucky with someone who is happy to be there.... read more

I love this company! I have never worked with a company for an outdoor adventure as amazing as CRC. They managed to serve 90+ people with a trip of a lifetime, 3yr olds to grandparents. None of it would have been possible without the commitment to communication with Lauren and Katie. The guides were also a lot of fun.
