I'm not picky about music--I usually go with what's popular--but he made sure my music-loving guests had an amazing time. His transitions between songs and segments were seamless, from the processional to first dances and wedding games. What really stood out was his thoughtfulness; from where his DJ station was positioned, he was at a great angle and he captured some very special moments of my father/daughter dance and even uploaded them to Dropbox for me afterward. No one asked him to do that--it was such thoughtful gesture and nice touch! I really appreciated it. With everything else going on, I didn't have to worry about the music because DJ Sam was in control. DJ Sam is very personable too - meeting him for the first time at my wedding, I felt we could be friends! He has a warm personality and wants you and your guests to have a great time with the music he puts on. If you want a DJ who's skilled, knows music, can read crowds, and genuinely cares, 11/10 go with DJ Sam. You won't regret it.

I was so busy in the morning of the wedding, so I didn't get the chance to say hi. By the time I did, he already talked to my officiant and MC about how they can use his mic and speakers. All the music queued exactly the right timing and made those moments so beautifully emotional. We talked about cutting the music by using hugs. But when my wife and I had our first dance, we were already hugging. But somehow Sammy was able to read our body language and cut the music when we wanted. I'm not saying this will work for you, but I just thought it's funny Sammy read our mind at that moment! For the dance floor, I'd recommend give Sammy as many songs as possible. We only gave about 20, which might be little low. With that said, Sammy and our guests murdered the dance floor. For the first hour, we had young and old people jumping in and out of the dance floor. We also had Hindi and Korean music on top of western music. I guess what I'm trying to say is, give Sammy options so he knows what to play as he reads the room. I will be sending Sammy some of our wedding dancing videos, maybe you can ask him for the samples. But in terms of writing it, we love Sammy, highly recommended.

Not to mention most of the wedding DJs I've encountered are just plain lame (no offence "someone's uncle", "dude sourced on Craigslist" and the "friend of someone your sister once worked with"-- I'm sure you have your place in the wedding DJ world) But if you want actual killer music, the right mix of all of your tastes, a crowd that will keep dancing til the end, and a DJ that actually cares about your big day-- do not trust anyone but DJ Leanne and her amazing set of DJs. I could not think of anyone better to be in charge of our biggest most memorable moments- walking down the aisle, our first dance, and all of the seconds in between. Thank goodness she was available for our wedding, I couldn't have imagined our wedding with anyone else in charge of music. DJ Leanne walks you through a consultation that is all about you and your tastes- you will even be asked to fill in a survey about what kind of music you like. Then, you'll be asked (and they will consult too) on your must have dance music, your ceremony music etc. From that they will magically weave all of your music tastes together-- even if you are like us.... Some would say we are kind of eclectic- think Beach Boys, Blue Rodeo, Lumieers and Van Morrison to No Doubt, No Diggity and Metallica to Little John, LMFAO and Flo Rida and Big and Rich, Shania Twain and Toby Keith too... We were also able to take them off during our ceremony. Stan also worked really well with the changes that occurred throughout the night. Our dance floor always seemed to have people on it, even the people who you wouldn't expect to be dancing were. It really seemed to help bring the families together. Stan played all the songs we wanted and asked if we wanted extra songs included other than our special moment songs which I thought was a nice touch for those moments we couldn't necessarily decide. DJ Stan was very helpful when I'd send messages asking questions and he didn't take a long time to get back to us. I'm glad he helped bring our wedding together!
