I would be very careful bringing your car to this shop. This place is close to my work which is why I brought my first vehicle there about 10 years ago when I moved to Calgary for an out of province. That experience was fine, so I figured I'd start using them for my mechanic needs. Well, that's what I THOUGHT anyway. The next vehicle I brought in, they told me the ball joints were shot in my vehicle, it was dangerous to drive and that they needed immediate replacement. When I brought my car somewhere else for a 2nd opinion elsewhere, they told me they seemed fine and would last for years longer. The charge for replacement would also have been higher than it should have been, and I'm really glad I got that second opinion. When I talked to the owner about it afterwards, he looked in the records and said I had been "well taken care of" in the past (referring to my initial OOP inspection) and asked what I expected from them, in a condecending tone. I told him I just wanted to know why they had claimed I needed something I didn't. He said he would talk to the guy who worked on the car and get back to me. I never heard from him. I decided to give them another chance with some struts and that went ok except for a higher charge than they intiially told me it would be over the phone. The final straw was when I bought a new (used) car and brought it in there for an out of province. I knew there was an issue with the charging system due to a light on the dash. They told me I needed a new alternator, and I told them that was odd since it appeared to be charging fine. To me, the way it was acting seemed like a loose connection. (Intermittent, on and off dash light) But I took their word for it and drove off with a $850 bill. (Expensive alternator!) The next day, the light was on again.... clearly not the alternator. I told them about this and the wife (front desk woman) just shrugged her shoulders... "well, we tested the alternator as bad and it needed to be replaced". Yeah right. This place is directly across the street from my work, but I now take my vehicles to a shop a few blocks away, and am more than happy with the service I get there instead. Buuuuttttt... if you like wasting your money, by all means - Andy is your man. read more

I've brought my old 93 honda civic to Andy's on multiple occasions for both routine service and a few larger repair issues. Each time the charge has been what they estimated or cheaper, and I have left very satisfied with their service. They always call to let you know what they've found, and give you options on what you want to do. Never any surprises. Extremely friendly and good value in my experience. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. I've recommended this place to friends and they've had similar experiences as me.
